Started My Seeds Well
These worked great for starting my seeds this year! They do hold on to moisture, so don't over water them or they do get moldy. Fit well in small starter trays. It was a pain to take the tops off of them. But they did the job once that was done.

Seed sprouting
I bought this for my preschoolers, it was a great idea for planting seeds. Kids got to watch their seeds sprout.

Good for money value, doesn't expand well
My only complaint of this item is that it does't expand to a nice cylindrical shape that can stand on its own. So you need to kind of nursery box that makes the pellets stand upright.

Good clean product works properly
My seedlings are sprouting up just fine in them. Just keep in mind when you order not to get the 30 mm if that’s not what you want. These don’t quite swell up enough in my seed starter, but the lights overhead so if it’s down in the well, it’ll be OK .

Garbage
Garbage. Expands into a narrow lumpy mess, nowhere close to 50mm . Both ends are glued close. Top is very narrow. Outer fabric tears when handled.

Not your usual peat pellet
If you've used peat pellets before and they've been quality, then you have a certain expectation. What I expect is to soak the pellets, have an opening where I can place the seed and then get growing. Imagine my surprise when I soaked the pellet and there was no hole. I tugged at the webbing on both ends. No hole. I searched the box to see if there was an explanation. Nope. However, when I came back here to the product listing, it told me I had to cut an opening. Okay. Would have been nice to have that information on the box (I don't read everything on a product page for a product I've used in the past and which should be straightforward--oops?). And, mind you that you can't cut the webbing until it's wet and expanded so it makes a usually straightforward process messy. (Not that I mind mess because you can't garden without a little mess.) Considering that I just used another product that I didn't have to go through any extra steps with, I can't rightly give this a high rating.

Poor quality
These are very imperfect. Two of the ten I applied water to were broken and not usable (the fabric wrap popped and soil went everywhere). The others were lumpy and didn’t fit well in the seed starter spots. They were a better price than the top brand but I’ll go back.
