Wonder plate warmer. It does keep plates warm. II don’t like cold food for breakfast or dinner and this solves that problem. It doesn’t need cords. Iheat it in microwave for 5 min.before eating or cooking. . The 9“ x 9“ fits easily.Wonderful plate warmer. It does keep plates warm very effectively. The 9“ x 9“ fits easily into my microwave. There are no cords needed. The bottom of the warmer is safe to put on table mats at the table. I don’t like cold food for breakfast or dinner and this solves that.

Wonderful product, does exactly as advertised
My husband has a medical condition which causes him to eat soft food/soups VERY slowly so his food never stays hot during his whole meal, typically it’s luke warm at best before he’s finished. This plate is a game changer! Per directions and based on our microwave wattage, I heated the marble plate for 2 minutes, the surface was definitely too hot to touch and 30 minutes later, it was still too hot to comfortably place my palm on it ( I could touch it with my finger) and his soup stayed hot. I’ll be anxious to try it with hot cereals, Mac and cheese, scrambled eggs, etc. But, so far, I’d give it 10 stars if I could!Follow up: it kept everything warm, perfect temperature, my husband is now able to enjoy his meals. I found it’s easiest to use potholders to remove marble from microwave and then place it in holder, I also put a silicone trivet under it to protect our table from the heat. Very satisfied, a game changer to be sure.

Ordered two of these and got two different products.
I received my first hot-plate as a Christmas gift and was quite happy with it (the left plate in the image). It looked just like the image online, and it worked very well, keeping things hot for 20 minutes or more (using a recommended flat-bottom plate). I decided I wanted another of these and ordered a second one using the exact same order number (right plate) and received an item that had a white stone with a different density. This stone does not get as hot, or keep its heat nearly as long. I heat both stones together (placing them face-to-face as directed) for 6 minutes in a 900w micro. The darker plate is VERY hot, the white plate is uncomfortably warm.If I only had an experience with the second plate, I would have been very disappointed - but I give the product 4 stars based solely on the performance of the first plate. I'd love to return the second plate and get the granite-colored item, but I'm now past the point of returning it. An email to the importing company ([email protected]) about exchanging the item was not returned. My suggestion is to order the plate, and if you get a white one, return it immediately for a replacement. Rinse and repeat until you get a dark-colored stone, you will be happy with it.

Easy version of a plate warmer
This does just what I want. I have stone countertops that act like a cold-sink for anything on the counter, and I've ofter found that a cold plate just cools off everything sitting on it. I didn't want another electrical device that took 20 minutes to heat up -- I just wanted something other than a hot water bath to heat up a plate and cup in the morning. I'm not crazy about the gray granite that they used, but for the convenience of this and the cost of this, I'll take it. This goes into the microwave for a minute or two, comes out hot and you can put your breakfast plate on it and eat a meal that stays warm for a while.

Love This, Love This, Love This
Heat this warmer plate in your microwave for a few minutes, and you can keep things warm on your counter instead of your stove top for a long time. IIt's great for when you have company and are serving a buffet of some kind. I've put casseroles on it, even kept steaks warm. It's perfect. I'm thinking about buying a few more so I can use them for when I have friends over for the Super Bowl game. I have a small kitchen, and it stores away in a tight corner really well. Love this!!!

Plastic container not strong enough for stone
I have tried Two of these warming plates. the stone will not stay in the plastic holder and it’s too heavy for me to pick up with hot pads. I don’t recommend this product.

Actual temperature information
Most of the reviews provided subjective information (it keeps food hot for X amount of time) but I wanted specific information (exactly how hot does this get, how long does it last) so I bought it anyway and will provide this info for anyone else that may want it.I used an infrared thermometer that measures surface temperature, a 1000 watt relatively new microwave and a hot Corelle plate of turkey and gravy for my experiments. Heating the stone for 3 minutes will get it to 220-225 degrees and it will drop to 115-120 degrees within 20 minutes. Over the next 10 minutes it will drop under 100 degrees effectively returning to room temperature in less than 40 minutes. My house was 74 degrees at the time of the tests.Heating it for 4 minutes will get the stone to about 280 degrees and buy you 40 minutes of heat that remains above 100 degrees. If you make sure the plate and food are very hot before placing it on the heated stone you will get hot food for 30 minutes. This has worked out very well for me.*Update* I use this almost every day and heating it so it's ready when microwaved food is ready was becoming a hassle. I had a small countertop microwave that I was going to use strictly to heat this stone but the holder for the stone is too big and it stops the turntable from moving. If you plan to use this in a compact microwave measure first.
