They are crazy but I wouldn't go as far as mental. They are also made of metal.

Will this fit a slide and hide Neff oven

Not sure as mine isn’t a Neff but the shelf is fully adjustable to make it wider. It’s a bit shorter in length (back to front) than my existing shelves but this doesn’t affect the use of the shelf. It’s fine if you put light items on it.
