Muffin's Halo Guide for Blind Dogs : For pet parents that want the best for their blind dog Muffin's Halo for Blind Dogs was invented out of love and devotion for Muffin Bordeaux, a senior Toy Poddle who lost his sight due to cataracts. Muffin began bumping into walls, fell down the stairs and became depressed and immobile, as he attempted to transition to life without sight. His mother, Silvie Bordeaux was heartbroken and was determined to find a solution for her beloved blind dog. After extensive research, she realized there was a great need for products to aid blind dogs, so she created this device for him and is dedicated to helping blind and visually impaired dogs and their caring owners. Twice patented, this device is lightweight, comfortable and stylish. It assembles easily with adjustable straps and the wings and halo protect your dog's shoulders, head, face and nose from hard surfaces like doorways, walls and furniture. As your dog adjusts to a bump-free life with Muffin's Halo, enjoy seeing him regain his confidence and carry out his daily routine including walking, eating, drinking, playing and exploring with freedom. Understandably, there is an adjustment period while your blind dog learns to trust the device. Please do not leave your dog unsupervised as they adjust to Muffin's Halo. Care instructions : Muffin's Halo wing and harness is made of polyester cotton / twill and can be machine washed on a cold cycle. Lay flat to dry. The halo is made of a durable, water resistant nylon cloth and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Review: A little cumbersome, perhaps, but does a good job. UK buyers beware of Import Tax and 'handling charge' Review: My dog hollie Berrie is trying out the halo for the first time tonight. I will update with photos and results in the next few days as we go along. She is about 24 lbs. She is a beagle and cocker spaniel mix with maybe a little something else on in there. The large fits her well but I had to adjust the chest area as she's got a deep chest. At first I thought she was scared stiff, but no. She was stuck to the carpet with the extra Velcro. I'll come up with something to cover that. She's a bit nervous about the actual halo. She's not 100% blind. She van see tiny amounts of stuff, mostly shadows it seems. I figure it'll take her a little while to get used to it. Like I mentioned earlier,I'll up date my review as we learn more. (11-14-18)

Construction is very good, very sturdy, and it works. The part that is difficult is the weight of it.

My sister adopted an elderly blind terrier who she named Lucky. He was constantly bumping into walls and furniture. Sometimes he would hurt himself - it was so sad to watch. A friend sent a link to a different product with this same halo concept, and I did quite a bit of looking into it before deciding to purchase this one (these halos aren't cheap!) This product turned out to be worth every penny. It is well-designed, made in a way that will last, and easy to use. My sister is disabled and a bit clumsy, but she has no problem putting this on her dog -- she actually found it easier to use than the regular harness. Lucky quickly got the hang of it, and he is quickly redirecting or stopping when he feels the halo bump against something. The only minor issue is that it tends to slide sideways and end up a bit crooked, but it still works, so it's not a big issue. I also worried that the contraption would look silly, but it's actually rather cute. The bright red harness and "wings" look bold and jaunty, and the halo makes him look rather saintly. Overall the effect is funny and sweet. I totally recommend this product for anyone with a blind dog! Also, the seller contacted me before shipping to verify the measurements, and to ensure that the halo would fit - that's real service!
