Light but strong and sensitive.
Beautiful rod with great sensitivity. Casts light lures easily on light braid. Super light and balances well with my reel. A treat to fish with. Despite its UL rating it has some real beef as I landed a 3 lb bass with it even though it was bent like a horseshoe.

Broke before I even took the tags off, but the 2nd was what I needed
I bought the Diawa Presso 6' 2pc ultralight rod at a local outdoor store in central Michigan, a younger gentlemen assisted me in finding an ultralight under 60 bucks. This was it, 53.99+tax. I was doing a very slight "bend" test like every fisherman does with their new pole and it snapped right above the third eyelet grom yhe bottom. Now, I wasn't horsing the rod and I wasn't twisting the rod, just a simple pull down from the tip. I was really looking forward to using this rod with my Abu Garcia cardsx10 reel for panfish and small bass but after what happened i couldn't imagine hooking any fish and this rod holding up. I was glad that it was in my living room and not on the boat and it still has all the tags on it so I am returning it. I'm really hoping that I just got the one bad rod but I probably will not purchase this same model again. I am new to ultralight fishing and this may have been a case of operator error, but I've never seen ANY rod break this easily, good luck in your purchase UPDATE: I went back to my local outdoors store and exchanged the broken for a new one. The new rod functioned as expected and turned out to be a really good rod. The first had to have been fractured or something for it to have broken so easily. Everything at my local store gets fondled a lot and the rod the gentleman had selected before my first rod was already broken and he actually pointed it out to me. Anyhow, I put my Garcia reel on it loaded with 6lb Suffix elite hi-vis yellow with just a tube and a slip float and caught a dandy Perch. The cast was smooth and quite and with the Suffix there we virtually no line issues at all. I would suggest this rod but it is IM7 graphite and it is brittle so just dont beat it up and you should be fine. Be carefull not to hit the eyelets on a bunch of stuff. Overall good rod.

Great action, decent price
So far very happy with my purchase. I've only had it a week but caught several small bass (under 2lb) and several Bluegills. For jigging the action is just how I like it and the rod is very sensitive. I have the rod set up with 6lb braid and 4lb fluro leader and felt every little bite, allowing me to set the hook at the right time. Would highly recommend for those needing a slightly shorter rod when casting in overgrown banks where snaggs are easy. EDIT: I still give the rod 5 stars, however now that I am a more accomplished angler, I would add that for an UL rod, the sensitivity is middling. However for the price still love this rod and since caught some larger fish in on it, including a 9lb Carp (by accident) and a 4lb Perch.

Very decent rod for the money.
I bought this rod to do some ultra lite fishing this spring. The rod came packaged well and in a timely manner. I have not had a chance to try it out yet as it is still winter here. But given that it comes from Daiwa i am not expecting any problems with it. If i do i will add a follow up to this review.

For the money it's tough to beat this rod
I really like this rod for fishing for bluegill with a 1000 series reel, 4 pound line, and a down shot rig with worms. Wonderful action, good sensitivity, light weight, and handles beautifully.
