Easy installation and works wonderfully!
Installation is surprisingly easy if you watch the video, the printed instructions weren't very good. It took two of us less than three hours (if you don't count the glitch described below). We had one little glitch - the seat would tip forward when you swiveled it to get out at the top of the stairs and would pull the chair out of level. We tried a torque wrench to tighten the bolts and that didn't solve it. Did take me a few days to get a tech on the phone, but when I did he was helpful. I had to take the 4 levelling bolts completely out and put them back in. At the time of manufacture, they "missed" the correct internal holes with the bolts. This was a bit of a complicated process and necessitated taking the two covers off of the chassis so I could shift the internal plate to where I needed it to be. But it worked! Put this in for my 90 year old father - he loves it and it has been operating seamlessly for him.

Seems like a nice unit
I dropped it down a star because they to fight to get the rails to slide together. Beyond that it’s replacing an obsolete unit that quit on us. Big difference in weight between them . The light weight aluminum rail was easy to move around as a full piece of track . The drive unit seemed easy to mount as well. The power can be connected on top or bottom of the rail . Unfortunately the power cord on the new unit was shorter power cord than our old dinosaur that beast had 15 ft cord so I suspected a new outlet would have been needed to be put in anyway. Seems like a good value for the price, hopefully it last the 20 years like the one it replaced Time will tell. Oh thought we had missing a small bag of parts . I had called they were going to send them but in the meantime I had found it at the edge underneath our freezer . So seems like it’s a good company that wants to take care of their customers satisfaction. The rail box end was slightly open when it was delivered but the rail had a protective cover and wrapped really good . Not sure if that why the track was hard going together or if it’s a common for them to be that way . Compared to the older unit this is a lot quicker to go up and down on . And best of all remote control boxes. No extra wires running around for the top or bottom controls.

Excellent value for the price
If you are looking for a cost effective solution for a chair lift, this one is an excellent choice. There is a very comprehensive installation video on YouTube and the manual is detailed and well written. One tip, though. When you install the seat and the footrest, the cable for the seat is easy to find on the unit, however the cable for the footrest is tucked into the footrest mounting bracket and you have to fish it out to find it. The lift won't function until both cables are plugged into the drive box. Took me an hour or two to figure this out but once both cables were plugged in, the unit functioned flawlessly. This one costs half of the next more expensive unit I'm seeing for sale, and is well worth the price. Since this one is made in China, if you're on the fence about buying one, I'd do it sooner rather than later because I have a feeling the price is about to go up...

company is bad, no returns
product itself is ok, but when you fill out a form with your staircase's measurements, and the company still sends you one even though your staircase is too narrow, there's no refunds....the product will work fine if you have a wide enough staircase for it. Just remember there's no returns even if it is their fault.

Great product, high quality, well worth the money.
This was a great purchase.... after researching the many stair lifts that are available,,, considering the cost I thought that the product would be less than stella, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see while unpacking the separate components that the quality was very high... extremely well built... this is tremendously well fabricated... solid materials and well thought out in terms of assembly. I did have some challenges when connecting the separate pieces of rail together but aside from that it went together very easily. A great value and quality product for the money.

Great value for the money, works very well, self install was mostly easy
We purchased this unit to assist an aging relative with getting up and down the stairs. Installation was straightforward, the manufacturer's install video instructions made the entire process relatively simple, with one minor exception that necessitated a phone call to a local installer. The provided instructions and install videos failed to mention loosening the seat swivel sensor screw on the underside of the seat assembly, which is fully tightened at the factory (See attached photos). After getting everything set, I was unable to make the lift move up or down on the rail, except in override mode. Pressing the up or down button on the armrest produced a long beep, but no motion. An installer informed me that the sensor screw has to be loosened approximately 1/8th turn before the unit will operate. Once I performed this action, everything started working just fine. I'm a little disappointed that the paper manual and online videos didn't make note of this, and would recommend they be updated to include this critical adjustment. Other than that little hiccup, we are very pleased with the lift and happy we purchased this unit. I hope the attached photos help future buyers avoid the confusion and frustration I faced during the final setup.

Works well.
Pretty easy to install. I used only one of the tracks as my stairs from the garage were very short. I will get a second stairlift for the stairs going to the upstairs bedroom at some time in the future. It is very quiet and my wife likes it.

works well, not too difficult to install
This stair lift works pretty well, at a very good price. I watched the install video, which was pretty complete and accurate, so that made installing easy. I have a few helpful hints to report: I needed just 102" of track, and because of how it fit on the stairs, I opted to rotate the track, so that the pre-assembled end would be at the top. I still tensioned the track from the top, and almost everything worked fine: rotating the track means the polarity of the charging strips becomes reversed. Since there's a diode (but not a full wave bridge), the battery won't charge that way. The easiest solution was to switch the polarity of the connector, which is a Mode Electronics 37-202-2 (2 position 0.062" connector). After identifying the connector, I moved the pins from the old connector to a new one, swapping them as I did so. This might be useful to others: Looking from the bottom of the stairs, the positive side should be to the right, negative side should be to the left. A DMM should read approximately 28VDC. You'll know that the battery is charging, because of the flashing amber light, which is seen most easily with the lights off. And it won't beep after moving.
