For anyone that wants to make their body feel right
I originally learned about Hashimoto disease from the Golden Girls. Dorothy's doctors kept telling her that her symptoms were in her head. Although Dorothy is a fictional character, it’s crazy that 30 years later, there is still a lack of understanding about the disease.Author Kate Barrington does a great job of breaking down the risks Hashimoto's in addition to talking about signs and symptoms to help identify the disease, although no set cause has been discovered. Multiple chapters go through effects, diagnosis and dietary recommendations. And of course with dietary recommendations there are always recipes! Barrington separates the recipes (Paleo and gluten-free) into breakfast, lunch and, vegan and vegetarian, side dishes, snacks, and desserts. Some of the more unique recipes include sweet potato waffles, maple lime chicken, cinnamon apple coconut crisp, and easy zucchini garlic bisque. The recipes aren’t overly complicated, usually taking no more than about 30 minutes including prep.

Good read
I enjoyed the info in this book for sure. I've made some of the recipes and have enjoyed them all. Nothing I've made has tasted bad or weird. Today, I made my own pickles and Ice-cream! Ice-cream is delicious, pickles won't be ready for a few days. Only part I'm struggling with is the consistency of some dishes. And the only downside for me is there are no pictures and no nutritional info. But, overall, I am enjoying the recipes and would recommend as a starter recipe book. It might just take a few times making certain dishes to get them right.

Great Information
I got this book for my sister-in-law, she has had some of her thyroid cut out. She has to get it checked every year. She thinks it’s growing again and doesn’t want it totally cut out because she will have to be on a pill the rest of her life. She will go to the doctor and get all the blood test she needs, but I thought this book would be a great addition to her treatment. With all the medical information, types of foods, vitamins and diet ideas that are beneficial to reduce your thyroid glands is great information. Then it contains whole bunch of recipes with foods to get you going. I hope this book is helpful to her.

Not a great first book for newly diagnosed.
Diagnosed 1/6/17. (Nodules/Enlarged Thyroid/Hashimoto's) So I selected this book based on a recommendation. Book provides good information but if you have any other conditions the recipes may not work for you. Ex. I'm allergic to coconuts and coconuts oil is used in many of the recipes. I don't feel it is the type of book you will go back to as a reference unless you plan to use the recipes. I'm also Pre-Diabetic because of my condition and there are some recipes that won't work for me. I've excluded all glunten and soy and that has made the best difference in my life. Also reducing carbs and watching my sugar intake all on my own.

Perfect all-in-one Hashimoto's Diet Book
In this book the author, Kate Barrington, has done a great job integrating diet, nutrition, health, and delicious recipes together. The book clearly outlines what Hashimoto's disease is, and then proceeds to tailor fit the information in the book for anyone looking for an easy way to get better. The dietary advice is very focused on the Hashimoto's healing diet, but it can extend beyond that. Information is presented clearly and the tables on pages 54-55 provide an easy reference chart. As for the recipes themselves, they are, so far, all delicious and easy to make. With this book, the term 'diet' no longer seems limiting!
