Genuine CAT Gen 7 Tourniquet - Exactly What I Wanted
When it comes to emergency medical gear, this isn’t an item where I want to cut corners. After inspecting this CAT Gen 7 tourniquet, I’m confident I received a genuine product. The packaging, labeling, lot information, and overall construction all matched what I expected from North American Rescue. The stitching is clean, the windlass feels solid, and the hook-and-loop material has a strong grip. I also appreciate that the pull tab is easy to locate and grab, which is important if you ever need to apply it under stress. Before adding it to my IFAK, I took it out to inspect the construction and familiarize myself with how it deploys. Everything operated smoothly, and it fits perfectly in my belt-mounted tourniquet holder. What I liked: * Appears to be an authentic CAT Gen 7. * Excellent build quality. * Strong hook-and-loop retention. * Durable composite windlass. * Clear manufacturer markings and lot information. * Fits standard tourniquet holders without issue. Things to know: This is lifesaving equipment, not range gear. I recommend anyone purchasing one inspect it upon arrival, learn how to use it properly, and practice with a dedicated training tourniquet instead of your duty or emergency-use tourniquet. That way your emergency tourniquet remains in new condition if you ever need it. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would buy another without hesitation. When it comes to medical equipment, peace of mind is worth paying for.

Buy the Real One, Not a Knockoff
This is one of those products where authenticity actually matters. The genuine North American Rescue Gen 7 C-A-T is trusted for a reason, and if you are going to carry a tourniquet, carry a real one, not some questionable knockoff with mystery plastic and fake stitching. I carried CAT tourniquets professionally, trained with them, and trusted them when things were serious. They are simple, proven, compact, and designed to work under stress. The Gen 7 improvements are solid, and the gray time strap is a nice touch for quickly marking application time. This is not range cosplay gear or something to toss in a drawer and forget about. It is legitimate lifesaving equipment. Mine live in medical kits, vehicles, outdoor gear, and range setups because if you ever need one, you need it immediately and you need it to work. The build quality is excellent, the windlass feels solid, and it is exactly what I expected from genuine NAR equipment. If you are building a trauma kit, first aid setup, range bag, or emergency kit, this is worth having. Buy once, buy real, and train with it.

Thankfully, I can only review the build quality and usability
Fortunately, I can't comment on how well this works in a real emergency, and I hope it stays that way. I originally purchased these while preparing for an overseas RV trip. I wasn't sure what access we'd have to emergency medical care in more remote areas, so I decided to prepare for worst-case scenarios and add a couple of tourniquets to our emergency gear. What I can say is that these appear to be exactly what I was looking for. The tourniquets I received are genuine Gen 7 CATs, which was important to me when making the purchase. There's a lot of discussion around avoiding questionable knockoffs with medical equipment, so buying from a trusted source was worth the extra peace of mind. What I like: * genuine Gen 7 CAT tourniquet * can be applied one-handed with practice * tightens securely * integrated time strap * compact and easy to store * inspires confidence in the design After receiving them, I spent some time familiarizing myself with their operation and practicing application. With a little practice, I found them straightforward to use, including one-handed application. The windlass tightens down firmly and the design feels well thought out for an emergency situation where simplicity matters. One feature I appreciate is the integrated area for recording application time. It's a small detail, but it's an important part of proper tourniquet use and shows that this is a purpose-built piece of emergency equipment. Thankfully, our trip ended without incident and the tourniquets never left the emergency kit. Since returning home, however, they've found permanent homes in places where serious injuries are more likely to occur. One now lives in my woodworking shop and another stays with my outdoor power equipment. Hopefully they'll never be needed there either, but having them available provides a measure of peace of mind. This isn't the kind of product anyone hopes to truly test. What I can say is that the quality appears excellent, the design is easy to understand, and it gives me confidence that if the worst ever happens, I'll have appropriate equipment available instead of wishing I had planned ahead.

No reason not to have 1! Since being introduced in 2005 they have lowered exsanguination deaths 85%
Teriffic Tourniquets now even better! If I could give more stars I would. Our military chose and introduced this as THE combat Tourniquet in 2005 and every solider was and still is issued/carries at least 1 of and medics began carrying in their med kits since then exsanguination deaths have dropped an amazing 85%! So drastically in fact that stateside paramedics and even police officers and I myself carry these proven Tourniquets EVERYDAY. Belt holsters (also available on Amazon $20+) have made the ability to quickly locate and use as well as daily carry a non issue. The new gray tips windlass is reinforced as are other parts and have a few slight differences including making the original Tourniquets need (or so says the company) for running the end thru the buckle a non issue, and decreasing the amount of time needed to stop a severe hemorrhage. I have these and the original CATs in all my med bags and IFAKS as you can't go wrong with them. I don't only have CATs but SOFTTs, RATS, SWAT TOURNIQUETS, and K&M?? Tourniquets and have tried them all finding pros and cons to each and I don't believe any of them are 'THE PERFECT' Tourniquet although I find the CATs a solid addition to my med kits especially with the newer design. I work in construction and have seen a lot of accidents with saws and fingers or legs so for my own EDC I carry both a CAT and RAT in my pockets and more CAT and the other types I mentioned in my med kits. I carry the RAT type as its amazingly fast to apply even one handed. The CAT is also one hand applyable but takes slightly more time due to the strap adjustments BUT it does a better job stopping hommorage compleatly with its windlass design and the way it's easier to adjust the tightness WITHOUT it removing pressure before the strap is also been proven better than the RAT but MAINLY due to its being applied wrong yet even applied wrong (applied by a average citizen with no first aid or medical training it is very simple and obvious how to use it IF you have it kept correctly prior to their using it) the obvious ease and speed it requires to apply has made it my choice as a first Tourniquet to apply especially if it's me that needs it as again it's self explanatory and I've found it will work well enough even if not setup right and in any way I can apply it. Many medics, Drs, and myself agree a second tourniquet in your bag is a must as even a CAT may need to be adjusted after applying and though it doesn't require a full release to adjust it even letting up on a bleeder that's slowed and beginning to clot it may allow it to start bleeding faster when adjusted.. SO in comes the second tourniquet besides it being there if you have multiple victims or someone requiring multiple Tourniquets due to multiple limb losses, gun shots, or stabbings a second Tourniquet allows you to quickly apply one to stop as much bleeding as possible and if necessary a second Tourniquet can be added above the first. Back to my choice in EDC Tourniquets I find the RAT perfect for fast application so you can stop at least most of not all bleeding and take other life saving actions necessary then if still bleeding a CAT or another CAT can be applied 2" above the RAT or first CAT cinch it down tighter and ALWAYS MARK THE TIME this is important for the Drs at the hospital to decide what they can or can't do depending on the time your appendage is without blood circulation.

KEEP ONE OF THESE IN YOUR CAR; LEARN HOW TO APPLY IT CORRECTLY.
Though I haven’t used THIS tourniquet, I highly recommend it. I took an active shooter class, presented by the FBI, which included a segment on how to stop the bleeding on one’s arms and legs (using a tourniquet), and on one’s torso (NOT with tourniquet - you press hard on the hole and pack it with gauge pads/roll). THIS is the tourniquet we used in class as we practiced on ourselves and others. It’s really easy to apply (further up the arm or leg affected, to stop the bleeding going from the hear toward the hands or feet), and way to lock in place. You can even apply on yourself, so it’s recommended that you keep one in your car, and have one with you when you go hiking. When applying, it’s going to hurt, but the goal is to keep the person’s blood from flowing out, which can lead to death. The arm or leg will go tingly, then numb. If applied correctly, you will see the blood flow out of that hole stop. If not applied correctly, and if you have another tourniquet available, leave the first one in place, and place the second tourniquet higher. (Ideally, place these against the artery near one’s armpit or groin). If you only have this one tourniquet available but did not apply it correctly the first time, have someone press their fingers into that artery HARD to stop blood flow while you reapply the tourniquet from your original position. WATCH SOME YOUTUBE VIDEOS on how to apply the tourniquet correctly. It could save someone’s life, or yours.

Get it!
This seemed expensive to me, but a tourniquet isn't something I wanted to cheap out on. I love the bright orange. Seems like good quality. Comes with a little instruction sheet to show you how to store it for quick application, and some care instructions, etc.

the right stuff, just Australian prices for right gear.
Great to see all as should be , C.A.T 7 is all I’ll get. Now I’m on a veterans pension and living alone with my service dog. I carry a pack daily with water fir my dog trooper and the rest. But like to be prepared guess that’s in you. But I see why these cheap or imati0n ones get bought by people who have seen one on there latest COD. As Australia you seeing $49 or more for one cat 7 no pouch, 2g pkt original Quitclot 3 pack of 2gr $48 this guy also puts $15 postage and it from Australia to Australia the small quick clot Gauze no lower than $115 1 pkt 2*3inch piece. A chest seat and nasal tube your way into the over $200 that’s only 9gr all up slowest first gen powder 1 cat 7 1 small gauze in clot chest seal without a set shears or glass breaker or pouch or kit grab bag.. pretty over the top when if someone went down of course I’m going to check clear of threat and help. Yet not in military to replace all that gear that may have saved a life. Veterans pension are not going to replace it or ambulance gives you one for one. Lot of pensions to start again. As most of us that have a controlled response to a accident zone and take, charge of panicked people making injured feel worse. As it was our job to help Those in times of fear or injury where they can’t help themselves. Little wrong And seeing the books prices since the admission to extra terrestrial craft and beings. The researchers who have the documents and generals and more ready to go to congress.. Dr Greer books which I bought on line at $15.95 on special last week are on Amazon at over $200 and couple $450 paper backs that are available from there web sites. 3 more Authors gone to prices beyond normal. You do realise it was us navy intelligence 3 times admitting yes and lots happening while we watch there other hand still. I really hope Amazon au doesn’t become a google, where Trust is dying really fast. Then find why we have a Au is to get charged ridiculous prices but not let it on to others. Just hard to help others all the time. Yet isn’t that what we all should be doing looking out for each other. Not for gain. Great piece though any blue practice ones coming at cheaper price. As practice makes perfect; especially alone.
