This reel seems to be built stronger than reels I've purchased from manufacturers. The 9 bearing system is very smooth. Have yet to fish with it but looking forward to it. Looking into buying more products from the Piscifun Flame Series as it is economical and meets all size needs. Only 4 stars because i haven't fished it yet, maybe upgrading this review at a later time.

This reel just performs. Took it up to Canada and caught a ton of fish on this baby. Super smooth casting and retrieval. I would highly recommend this. I also bought a 4000 series for my crankbait medium duty rod, it was awesome. Big fish didn’t stand a chance.

This is my second one replacing some Mitchel reels about 25 years old. All I can say is they are smooth and very nice for the price. I mainly use them for walleye, crappie and small mouth bass with no problems after a year so I got a second one.

Nice reel worth the money

The Piscifun Flame series of reels are outstanding quality reels. I'm a Crappie and White Bass fisherman and I have a number of these reels in 500, 1000, and 2000 sizes spoiled with 6lb moms, and 6lb to 10lb braid. I long line and spider rig as well as cast with these reels. They cast well and have a smooth ball bearing retrieve. Also have smooth drag. With proper care (a couple drops of light oil occasionally) they will last many seasons of use. I could spent $3X to $5x the price on well known branded reels and they were probably made in the same factory.

Bought this reel based on some research from You Tube. I bought it as an intermediate Trout set up, pairing it with a Berkley Cherrywood rod. Since getting this reel two weeks ago, I've caught 12 Trout, approximately 35 Panfish and several small Bass with my new set up... The reel is very smooth and looks good. Its fit and finish are above average and the drag is easy to set. The bail arm has some play in it and I'm not sure it wasn't designed to be that way. Nonetheless there have been zero issues with the reel. I did have a couple of "birds nests"; however, I think that was my fault and not the reel's. I'm using KastKing Fluorokote 6lb line and it works great. I landed a 1.5 pound Rainbow Trout without issue on my initial trip using this reel. Overall, for the price paid, this is a superior product. It earns a 5 on aesthetic appearance, a 4 on durability, a 4 on ease of use, a 4 on overall quality... Since buying this Piscifun Flame Reel, I have became a big fan of Piscifun products and ordered a second Piscifun Reel 4 days ago... As long as things keep going as they have been with Piscifun products, I will be a using Piscifun Reels exclusively...

For the price this reel surely cannot be beaten for performance, quality and styling. Performs and handles just as good as the best in the class costing 3 and 4 times ( or more ! ) than it. Excellent.

I am in no way an expert, having being fishing for little over 6 months, however this reel is an incredible value for money. I originally purchased it as a cheap replacement for a broken reel that I found attached to a discarded combo . The original combo had a broken handle and I guess the original owner simply decided to dump it on the jetty instead of taking it home and fixing (the rod wasn't anything fancy but was still perfectly functional). Got the reel, loaded it with mono backing, braid main and fluoro leader and voila. The thing is a little beast. Casts well, is really smooth, decently built and has since then become my main reel, replacing the Shimano Sienna FG that I used in my main rod. Kudos for Piscifun for creating a good quality reel at great price. Had I not found this reel the discarded rod would like have finished in the landfill instead of being used in some of my latest catches. :-)

Tengo muchos carretes de mosca de Piscifun (lineas3/4) Así estoy al tanto de la calidad de la marca. Acabo de volver al mundo de spinning tras 40 años de pesca a mosca. Leí las reseñas y comentarios de la prensa especializada de los estadounidenses. El Piscifun Flame (llama) gozaba de muchas alabanzas. Así compré el modelo 1000. Viene con instrucciones de como colocar el hilo en la bobina (que me venía bien!!) y etc. La capacidad de manejar, mono, fluoro y trenzado (en combinaciones también). Acción suave, , da gusto. Lo tengo para spinning ultraligero. Es perfecto
