Tape King Gaffers Tape 2-Roll Pack

I've been using this for a few years now for taping down cords and wire covers during events. I've tried at least four different brands during that time and this one is the best by far. The adhesion is the most important factor, and this tape adheres better than any of the other gaff tapes I've tried. Additionally, it tears off the roll easily and removes easily when it is time to clean up after an event. Unlike duct tape, it leaves no residue either, which is the whole point of using this tape. From my observations, this is for short-term use. I've tried using it to tape wires down long-term, and after a few months it begins to peel up on its own. When removing the tape, make sure it doesn't stick to itself around a cord or other device, or it will be very difficult to remove. As long as they keep the price reasonable, I'll continue to buy it. The price went through the roof when inflation first hit, which is why I tried other brands. It has since come back down which makes me happy.

I read about this tape on a Reddit post. Everyone was raving about it and how it was miracle tape. Having been burned many times about things purported to be wonderful that end up being any but, I was wary. But, I bought some. It arrived and I promptly put it aside and forgot about it. Until today. I have a small security camera I point onto my back porch to watch my cats (they have indoor/outdoor access via cat tunnels/tents) and to see what wild animals wander on it at night (saw an unusually colored skunk one night). Unfortunately, there are no convenient places to adhere it to the wall without obscuring the view, so I usually end up taping it (FAIL) and setting it on something (like window cat beds) but both of those methods have their weaknesses. I determined TODAY was the day I was going to try out the gaffa tape and see if it was really a great as it was made out to be. I. am. amazed. My camera is staying in place - and I've moved it three times!! I was trying to find the perfect spot that covered the most of my porch and back door. I am looking at it now and it hasn't loosened a millimeter. The camera is still securely attached to the window as is the wire that had been hanging down until I taped it. It REALLY works!! 5 stars all the way across. If the camera does end up falling, I'll come back to update how long it took. But so far, I am completely blown away by it's strength and ease of pulling off the surface it's attached to without leaving any residue. I'm a convert.

This stuff is really good. I noticed it has trouble adhering on glass surfaces, but anything else, including carpets, it works fine. I'm not really a huge Gaffer's tape user. I just like having a roll of it handy if I need to tape something down. The black roll is good for blending in with dark backgrounds while the white roll is good for labeling stuff. Now that I've thought about it, it's pretty clever bundling a half roll of white tape with another half of black tape. Tears neatly, adhesive not as strong as others I've used, so watch out for that if you're taping stuff on glass. For carpets it's awesome. I use this stuff because it doesn't mess up the surface you're applying tape to. It's quality Gaffer's tape,,, if you are a casual user of this stuff go for the black/white combo package, it's a smart deal.

I think this tape is great and works really well. Defiantly sticks to itself hard and is almost impossible to take apart but on other stuff it holds very well. It doesnt hold well on Aluminum foil or things that get cold. I dont think thats what it was for but with enough of it, it will hold. Also being a double pack. Defiantly good! Price was right. I dont have a whole ton of graffer tape experience but this is defiantly some of the better stuff.

Giving 4 stars for now. I've not had the opportunity to use the tape yet but will have significant opportunities to use it at an upcoming convention. I will update my review with comments on the actual strength and use after SC Comicon in 2 weeks. UPDATE #1: Did some work on a project for the Con last night and ended up using some of this Gaffers Tape. Time will tell, but it comes off the roll rather easily, a bit too easily from my past experience with Gaffers Tape. The sort of easy like the cheap dollar store duct tape that never sticks to anything and you end up just trashing the roll. I used the black Tape King Gaffers Tape in a few places to hold some items in place and will see how it's holding up this afternoon and a full 24hrs having passed with both warm and cold temp changes. (The reason this is important is I had another roll of Gaffers Tape of another brand and vendor that takes significant muscle to pull off the roll and stuck like glue. The ease of unrolling has me beginning to become skeptical an a bit concerned about the quality) FINAL UPDATE: Convention went well and the tape held up very well. I had to completely reinvent a prop display after it wouldn't fit where it was designed to go. Since I didn't have time to redo all the proper forms I just taped everything to get by. The tape held up very well and I'll definitely be getting more of this brand :)

This tape is great for just about anything. It sticks well, can tear by hand if needed, and all around seems to be high quality. I buy this instead of duct tape now and haven't regretted it.

Updated review. I had originally left a one star review. They reached out to me with a replacement and it looks like the original rolls were old or damaged in some way. The original order felt gummy and didnt hardly stick. It has only been on for a few minutes but its much better than what i had before. I really appreciate them taking care of me

Neatly packaged, arrived quickly, cheap price. Annoying thin plastic wrap took a long time to remove and came off in little pieces, which then stuck to my fingers with static. I would hate to do that on a shoot! Most importantly, it does not tear well. Tears easily (not as easy as the good stuff) but the black is just painted onto white backing! The black layer flakes off and leaves a ragged, uneven, white edge showing!!! Also, harder to tear laterally, and flaking is even worse! Can't use it anywhere the camera could see it! The white is similarly flawed, coloring is too warm, but marginally acceptable because you can't see the edges. Tack is strong and removes easily enough - good behind the scenes, use for temporary directional signs, or roll up to stick on the back of items, out of sight. temporary gear repair, etc. Worth the low price to have around the house to stick up party banners on your walls, but not professional enough to work with on camera or on set. Great gaf tape and a way better price than the local audio/video store. Only issue is on small cords it struggles to adhere to the thin cord and itself at the same time. Also rips so cleanly which means I can forgo the scissors. BONUS use, I mark off areas where I want kids to sit in front of the stage for a particular week and it leaves no residue on the floor and peels up so nicely.

Taped an extension cord to the carpet with 3 strips and came back the next day and the tape was peeling off all by itself. Poor adhesion to carpet and to backside of tape.

It’s not quite gaffers tape. It’s more like a duct tape than not. It’s not really a fabric tape and upon removing it from my last event, it peeled off the stage paint. Not all of it but in several spots. Use caution with this brand.
