We purchased this composter as I was tired of looking at the nasty brown one given to us by the council after the introduction of their scheme. we wanted something easy to clean that was more aesthetically pleasing and this one fits perfectly on the window of our kitchen without being too much of an eyesore. the white version we purchased has a strong, anthracite coloured handle and really is an improvement on the old caddy. It's really sturdy and modern looking, and the lid seems to seal perfectly shut meaning no more nasty smells every time someone puts a banana skin in there (why do they always smell so bad?!) The caddy comes with a wall plate if you wish to mount it - this looks like it would work on the inside of a cupboard door but we have ours sitting on the windowsill. It comes with 10 Brabantia compostable liners the whole lid comes away to change the liners which just wrap around the edges and are then help in place by the lid. It does seem fairly secure and doesn't seem to slip away as the bag starts to get full. I think the only con would be that it doesn't seem to be designed to take other brands of bags, however, I have found that you can get around this by simply cutting the handles off the Tesco version which are considerably cheaper - if you don't want to do that the bags will still fit but you will see them hanging out the side. I would advise that you do not fill this to the brim however - as the bags get full it can be rather had to tie them in a knot as there are no handles or anywhere to use in order to seal them, I have found that I can comfortably get away with the bin being just over half full before the liner needs replacing but it seems to hold so much more than the normal caddy's anyway that this is not really a problem! Overall I would thoroughly recommend this caddy and will be considering the rest of the Brabantia range as their products always seem to tick every box!

I own this (6 litre compost bin) over 2 years and I am really happy with it. First of all, it really looks great. You can easily mount it on the door of kitchen cupboard so you can save counter space. It is not 100% airtight but it wouldn't be easy to use then. I am happy with it. I usually replace the bag every 3 days and we rarely feel any foul smell. I've used several types of bags. Eventually, I switched to Waitrose 12lt compost bags. Good fit, reasonable price. Fully recommended.

$20 bucks for a piece of plastic seemed a little stiff to me but, I gotta say this compost bin is the bomb. 1. The lid has a little lip so you can lift it open easily with the side of your arm or hand so if you have a hand full of scraps you don’t have to put your messy hands all over the bin and pry it open like others I’ve had. 2. It is also has a very cute non offensive and simple look with a nice color. 3. The bag system is really nice too it goes under the top lid and prevents the bag from falling down and getting mixed in with you compost. 4. No odor 5. No little flies hanging around 6. The handle is great too, I just take the top lid off and little red ridding hood the bucket to my main compost bin 7. Easy to clean 8. Great size for the kitchen counter doesn’t take up too much room and fits a good amount waste. That’s about it, it’s a pretty good little bin.

Tbh such a great product! Needed to replace our method of having a small garbage bag on our kitchen counter with something practical (and attractive). I don't line the bin with a bag (we would go through SO many grocery store bags prior to this). I just pop off the lid and dump its contents into the main trash can. I like that it's big enough to hold kitchen refuse when I'm cooking. At first, I was looking for a click open bin but reviews were saying the mechanism would easily break. The lid opens and closes easily and there isn't any smell UNLESS you off left meat scraps in there for a few days. I regularly empty the bin to the main trash can and clean it so it doesn't have the chance to smell.

Wir brauchten eine kleine Biotonne für die Küche, welche in einen Auszug passt. Diese erfüllt genau diesen Zweck und sieht schick aus. Verarbeitung meines Erachtens gut bzw für einen Mülleimer durchaus ausreichend. Positiv ist auch, dass es einen Henkel gibt, man die Tonne also einfach rausnehmen kann. Bei den passenden Müllbeuteln bin ich nicht sicher, ob diese Bio-geeignet sind, daher habe ich handelsübliche bestellt: BioBag kompostierbarer Küchenmüllsack 6/10 Liter, biologisch abbaubar grün kompostieranleitung, Einlegesack für die Biotonne 100 Müllsäcke (6L)
