Collector's Edition is top notch!
This review, isn't just for the game, it's also for the Collectors Edition. The game itself is fantastic. It's beautiful, and a fairly interesting world, with plenty of dangers to keep you constantly on your toes. Hours into it and I just want to play it more. The world itself is interesting, the story intriguing however slightly predictable. What keeps you drawn in is Aloy herself. They did a wonderful job with the main character, and her depth is interesting as well. I love playing as her. There just is not alot wrong with this game. gameplay is smooth, the ai varies from slightly dangerous to being some of the most clever ai I have seen used in a game for enemies. The collectors edition in my opinion was well worth the price. The statue was bigger and more detailed than I thought it would be. It is made of a softer but sturdy plastic molding. The small artbook was a nice touch, though not necessary. It's tiny. As much as I love the art, I would purchase a different artbook to fully appreciate the art, if you are into that sort of thing. Then lastly you have a gorgeously printed steel case as well as the dlc which can be unlocked fairly early in game. While the outfits and weapons are awesome, the bonus is slight. But it is enough to get you to a decent set of equipment to start the game with. Overall I love this set, this game and Aloy. I can't wait to put more time into this game!

A game that is both extremely gorgeous and utterly captivating.
Wow. This game is beyond breathtaking. Let me just pause there for a second... Whew, ok. So this Horizon: Zero Dawn is set to be a defining experience of this generation of consoles. From the moment you meet Aloy, the game is keen on showing rather than telling. Beginning with the "tutorial", everything is baked into a narrative that really envelops you in the world and makes it easy and enjoyable to empathize with the protagonist. Gameplay follows a well paced curve that gradually introduces new levels of complexity without needing to interrupt the experience, all the while encouraging exploration and discovery. The encounters reward smart, but dynamic play, allowing for brute force aggression or stealthy tactical strikes. The game frequently hat-tips players who are paying attention, rewarding players with clever narrative, hidden strategies, and a dash of spectacle. The gameplay borrows heavily from Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed, but mixes the styles well and adds a healthy dose of originality and refinement. And I can't write this review without explicitly calling out the Art Direction. The creature and world building is amazing. Just staring up at the sky in this game and watching time pass can be beautiful. Creatures are varied and interesting and the environments are both dramatic and logical to navigate. I can't stress enough how enjoyable this game has been and really find myself struggling to find anything to be critical about. If you like great games, especially action RPGs, don't hesitate to pick this up. Now on to the Collectors Edition specifically. This version adds a nice figurine, a small art book, and some digital content. The figurine is excellent and reminiscent of some of the Halo and Gears of War CE pack-ins. The art book is ok, but somewhat small; don't expect something on the scale of what Blizzard does with their CE art books. The digital content is a nice starting bonus, but nothing game breaking and will not dramatically enhance your experience. The nicest piece of digital content is the Dynamic Theme. Note, this is NOT the same theme available for purchase on the PlayStation Store: it includes different visuals (based in the CE box art) and has background music. The game also comes packed in a steel book case. Overall, if you like collecting figurines, the Collectors Edition is a nice purchase, but nothing else in the package really stands out. For most people, the standard edition is an excellent choice.

Fantastic deal for a stunning game!
Horizon Zero Dawn (HZD) is a game worth purchasing entirely on its own merits as a Dishonored/Tomb Raider type of third person action/adventure/rpg. Having played on the basic PS4, I still found the visuals quite amazing and the action was not too jittery or laggy for me to track, hide, hunt and fight the unique robotic “dinosaurs”. HZD raises a lot of questions with its story and yes, it’s sort of derivative except for the enemies. But those enemies….boy are they fun and impressive! This review however is for the Collector’s Edition. If one wants a more detailed and thorough review of the game itself, youtube and metacritic can go into far greater detail than I. The Collector’s Edition is entirely worth the purchase price (especially for Prime members). The statue of Aloy is quite large, very detailed (and fully painted) and is worth every penny. For a less-than-usual sum, you can have the game, a statue, a small (~48 pages of 4x6 postcard sized artwork) artbook and some helpful digital items for Aloy. If HZD sounds like it is up your alley, I cannot recommend the CE enough.

Not to mention how good they look on the character while you're running around ...
I followed this game for quite some time and did some extensive research in it and when I saw that there was a collector's bundle I knew I had to have it. The game itself is very open-world the graphics are stunning and it is possible to have hours of game time in this specific game. With the collectors bundle of there is of course the two outfits and the weapons that come with it and those are very valuable in early game. Not to mention how good they look on the character while you're running around completing an immersive story. The statue that comes with it is high quality and shows Nora, the main character, standing atop one of her defeated kills. It is well worth the money made of high-quality material not to mention the quality of the case that the actual game comes in made of metal. There is a booklet full of concept art and other artwork that inspired the game and the creatures in it.

Amazing Collector's Edition for an amazing game
This is just a review for the Collector's Edition, not the game itself. I was a little disappointed when it was announced that the soundtrack was not included, but I found it on Spotify, so that's not a big deal. The steelbook for this is beautiful and fits in well with the other steelbook games that I have. The statue is amazing. It has a high level of detail and looks great sitting on my entertainment center. The bowstring was detached on one side when I got it, but that was easily fixed with a dot of super glue. The statue is also a resin rather than ceramic like some other statues I've gotten which makes the smaller parts flexible and much much less likely to break. Overall I could not be happier with the statue and I will probably order the Thunderjaw Collection later to set next to this one. The outfits and bows are good but I don't think it would be worth it to upgrade to the digital deluxe edition of the game just for those. There are other in-game items that are just as good. I actually liked the Gamestop exclusive outfit and bow that was given out with any version of the game more than the collector's edition items. The artbook is the only thing that I was disappointed with in this. It is extremely small making it hard to see the art in it, and it is very short so there's not a lot of content in the book. This was one of the things that got me excited for this collector's edition so it was a let down when I realized a little before launch that it was that underwhelming of a book. My wife decided to order the bigger artbook on Amazon and we will probably put the one that came with this away as it doesn't really add much to the collection. Overall my wife and I were very satisfied with this collector's edition and it has been a great game so far. It was more than worth the price and it will be a center piece of my collection for a long time.

Another killer exclusive for Sony
Believe the hype: HZD is a strong contender for Game of the Year. Insanely detailed and lush environments, great controls, solid voice acting/animations and really fun gameplay. Somehow, Guerilla Games found out that hunting robot dinosaurs pretty much doesn't get old. I am not particularly a fan of open world games since they tend to lack cohesive central narrative and lots of really grindy sidequests but HZD tackled both of those problems easily. First, the main story is actually good and interesting. It takes a lot of standard sci-fi tropes and gives them a good polish and enough unique spin to suck you in. I found myself caring about the central story and Aloy. Secondly, the sidequests are very much optional and the fetch quests have enough of interesting story that you can easily get sucked in. The collectibles quest are mixed up enough to let you go from one type to another without getting bored. And you you can easily tackle them in whatever order you want: a friend of mine wanted to see the whole map so he went straight for the Tallnecks asap (the infinitely improved Ubisoft towers lol) whereas I got caught up in all the Hunting Ground trials and getting Gold marks for fastest times, which gave me tons of xp, money and weapon unlocks. GG has smartly structured it in the way that nothing ever feels likes a chore and the way you want to tackle the game really feels natural and intuitive. That made me like this game so much more compared to all the other open world games out there. Weapon variety is good enough to where you can play the game how you want. I went stealth and using slingshot bombs after picking apart robots piece by piece for their goods with bow. My friend went tying down with the Ropecaster and arrowing down mobs with the bow. Or you can go straight stealth with melee Silent Strikes or well placed arrow shots with the slower bow. There is no issue with ammo since crafting can be done on the fly, WITHOUT GOING TO A MENU THANKFULLY, and you will have no lack of resources due to the item economy and plethora of materials lying around. The only complaint I could even leverage is that even on hard mode, it was a little easy and the super armor really truly breaks the game and makes it easy to complete. Not sure how very hard plays but I would 100% recommend starting on hard mode, even for beginners. I sunk 66 hours into this game and loved every minute; very happy to have the Platinum for this and got a free theme from Sony even for it. The fighting and story are top notch, it has a lot of replayability because the world is just engrossing and fun to just run around in and take pictures and FIGHT DINOSAUR ROBOTS. Absolutely can't wait for the sequel/planned DLC and this is one of the best console exclusives around for sure. If you have a PS4, this is a must own in my opinion. Collector's Edition notes: the stature is well made and detailed and is sitting next to my Kratos statue from the Ascension collector's edition. The steelbox is well made and looks great, as does the artbook. One of the few games that I would recommend the whole package for, especially with Prime discount was an absolute steal. If it's not your thing, the base game will suffice, the preorder weapon/armor bonuses are not a huge advantage early on.

To start off this is a good game. The story is well done and well ...
To start off this is a good game. The story is well done and well paced. There is a large amount of content without it being overwhelming. Additionally, the game incorporates many different game mechanics in a well thought out manner. This means you will at times feel like you're doing things you've done in other games. Regardless, the controls are good and relatively precise and without lag. Beyond the story being both good and engaging it cannot be said to be all that groundbreaking. Also, there are a few themes that pervade the game that might irritate some of the more experienced or perceptive players. While the 3rd person view is very useful in the game there isn't (that I found) a method to adjust it. I prefer 3rd person view to be from a further back vantage point. Additionally, when looking up at the sky (or certain enemies) if you're in anything but short grass the camera angle will move such that all you can see are the blades of grass. This is opposed to most 3rd person games where the camera will 'hit the ground' then tilt from there to avoid this AND still give good view. Lastly, the game in some ways pushes an agenda. While I prefer to ignore such things, by the end of the game there were so many small hints that it was always in the back of my mind which ruins the replay value for me. This mainly comes in the form of all of the idiots, bad guys, and people you kill being exactly that, men, while all of the good and noble characters where women. If you find it difficult to ignore men being the universal punching bag then I recommend passing on this otherwise quite good game. If you don't care about such things or even enjoy men being demonized then by all means, it's worth the play and has a good $/hr ratio.

Great game!
This is one of the best games I've ever played. The statue is solid and I like it - the face isn't quiiite exactly like Aloy but close enough. It's solid and won't fall apart if you take care of it. Book is nice but what it is, and the steelbook looks great too. I don't think I've been this impressed with a game since The Last Of Us (though a very different game obviously). Usually large open world maps get tedious, but this one never got boring. A lot of "oh WOW!" moments, with an interesting story that you can really dig into if you feel like it. Aloy's a great character. The world is the most detailed and varied I've experienced - just so much everywhere you look. I spent a lot of time just admiring the view, near and far. Just gorgeous. The combat is really easy to get the hang of, and the more you learn about each enemy, the more fun it is to try different tactics/weapons.And the enemies! A couple dozen Mech-dinosaurs from small Striders up to giant Thunderjaws and Stormbirds. There are many ways to approach the same enemy and different tactics and weaknesses to exploit with various weapons.Movement/traversal is pretty smooth, and mounted animals are easy to control. I haven't heard anything about DLC for this, but there will obviously be a sequel...though I fear that's probably a good 4+ years away. It's not very often I spend 60+ hrs beating a game and still want more (never actually). Definitely in my top 5 all time.

Exelente juego y figura!!!!

Must have

One of the best games I've played this gen
One of the best games I've played this gen, just an incredible world Guerilla built. The collectors edition was also quite fantastic, the statue is better quality than i expected given the price, very detailed, with an acceptable paint job, the steelbook and artbook are both gorgeous. The DLC gives you some awesome early game weapons and outfits that should tide you over until you have the means to get better ones. My only complaint is the styrofoam the statue was contained in was glued to inside of the outer box and taped all around the middle, making it quite difficult to get out, and i managed to tear the outer box slightly while removing it, would have been easy with 4 hands though.

Good edition of the game if you're a fan
The statue and steel case were nice. I was a bit disappointed in the art book because it was so small.
