Beautiful pieces, I’m very pleased with the ones they picked out for me! True to size and diverse. I boiled all 5 pieces for about 15 minutes before putting them into my tank. LOTS of tannins came out, I personally love tannins but keep that in mind if that’s not what you’re looking for. They were also very securely packaged, I didn’t have any broken pieces. They’ve been in my tank for about 24 hours now and there really isn’t any tannins anymore, so boiling definitely does the trick! (in my picture, the super large piece of wood in the middle and the little wood tube looking one aren’t from here, but the rest are.) Overall, I’m more than pleased with this purchase - especially for such a great price!

Love them. Exactly what I wanted. Perfect size, great shapes. Boiled 3 hours as recommended and ready for plants. Arrived fast and packaged well. These are in a 10 gallon long tank.

I bought these mainly as a cost-effective way to introduce tannins into the water in some of my betta tanks. I didn't have high expectations regarding the quality or appearance of the wood—given the small size range listed, I figured they'd be basic, functional pieces at best. But I was genuinely surprised by what I received. None of the wood is rotten, all of it was relatively clean, and three of the five pieces are clearly mopani (as far as I can tell). Even if the other two aren't mopani, they appear to be some kind of hardwood that looks perfectly safe and suitable for aquarium use. What really stood out, though, was the aesthetic quality. These aren't just random wood scraps—someone clearly took the time to select pieces that would actually look nice in a small tank. If my experience is typical of their usual quality, these pieces offer far better value than what you'd find at many pet stores—especially the big chains. Not only are they more affordable, but you're also more likely to get something that's actually pleasing to look at.

Its driftwood! 1 out of 5 was perfect for betta rest (top). Packaged very good. None broken.

Pricing is normal for this product. Comes with various shapes at small sizes for small aquariums. They look great. Durable but may need to be tied or glued down to rocks so they don't float or soaked for a few days to sink properly. Boil them if you don't want your water to turn yellow from tannins. Lightweight.

Adequate sizing & length of wood. They do leak tannins even after 2 hours of boiling, but 4/5 woods sink. The largest piece floats (& is to be expected) so I'll soak it for a while & use it as a centerpiece. Although the packaging itself was somewhat difficult to cut out, the obvious care in it was astounding! Tightly wrapped & bound to ensure no breakage. However, the smallest of the 5 woods was a bit of a disappointment, despite finding a place for it in my 10gal tank. In all seriousness, 7-8/10 stars if I could rate it more specifically. :) Edit: the largest piece sunk after roughly 24hrs of soaking, but any piece has a chance of needing a(n) longer time to sink/anchor 08/19/2023: I rescaped two days prior to this edit. I'm satisfied with my scape as of right now. The woods fit together nicely, and there are spots where the betta can hide in, a "cave". I did notice that it smelled awful in some places, like it was biofilm or whatnot despite it being in there for a month. And I noticed some sharp points that I covered with Java Moss. Little pieces of loose bark floated in the water. Still a little disappointed about the smaller pieces of wood. For any ten gallon tanks, I'd say get the medium size woods they have. These pieces are meant for nano tanks, or smaller tanks below 10 gallon. Definitely regretting a little I didn't spend my money on the medium sizes. My male betta loves the hiding spots though, despite knocking and uprooting my plants like once/week. Still lovable. Buy at your own risk, will receive different pieces of wood, so experience on this seller will differ. 9/15/2023: Soooooo. The biggest piece of wood I had was peeling. For context, after I put it in, it built up a white "sludge" that STANK. I'd heard of biofilm, so I thought it'd go away eventually. It was a very sturdy piece, so it was solid enough for me to brush it with a (clean) toothbrush. To my surprise, the very top layer peeled off, and when I tried to peel it off thinking it'd stop there, an even BIGGER piece peeled off. At least part of the length of wood and 1cm in thickness. Not happy right now as I have shrimp, thinking they would eat the biofilm and leftover food. Keep in mind shrimp are small invertebrates, and are VERY sensitive.[-2 stars] 10/12/2023: after newfound research, wood softens as you boil longer. Soft wood or mulch does not affect shrimp or fish, but it does look undesirable. If you don't want this look, I'd suggest boiling only for 10-30minutes to just get rid of undesired pests, pathogens/disease, and hitchhikers that may come on. If it is a larger piece of wood, you can choose to boil and pour water on top of the piece and soak it for 10minutes then top off with cool water to avoid softness and to sink it.

At first, I was really happy with this product. The sizes are perfect for a 10 gallon tank and each piece is really unique and interesting. However, for over a week now I have been soaking the five pieces of wood in water constantly, changing the water daily. On top of that, I have boiled the wood, as per recommendations by seller, multiple times. I am now up to eight times. I have boiled the wood on high well over an hour each time alternating between using salt, soda, and freshwater and, of course changing water each time. This wood will not stop leeching tannins. Each time the water is dark brown and not getting clearer. I currently have driftwood in my fishtanks. Never have I ever had driftwood that leeches tannins like this stuff does. I do not feel confident in putting it in my fish tank. I do not want to risk my fish and my shrimp. I am returning this item. I’m really disappointed because I really liked the look of the wood, and was advertised as being safe for fish tanks. Perhaps it is safe, however, I’ve never had driftwood leech like this stuff does. I am not risking it. I am not happy about the time, the water, and the gas I had to use to boil and soak this stuff for over a week. I have had three large pieces of driftwood in my tank that I purchased at a pet store. At most, I think one of them took three boils, and a few days to soak, before the water was clear. I’m not sure what kind of wood this is.

Very happy with the 5 smaller size pieces of wood for my Betta 5 gal tank and 1 fish bowl. I soaked them a few weeks with every other day water changes. They were nicely bogged down by then and did not float. At first the water turned brownish. Some people like that for particular breeds of fish to create a living wetland ph tank.

Drift wood came very well packaged. Delivery was fast. Pieces were very nice. Great pieces. Thanks again. Would buy again.

Waste of Money

I took a risk on these not knowing what to expect. I ended up getting some decent pieces, one much larger than expected. I boiled them well-- 3 sessions-- and left them underwater and weighted down for about a week. 7 days later they are all sinking with only a few tannins left. The size I got wouldn't be good for a larger tank but fit my 5 and 10 gallon tanks well.

I've ordered these a few times now. I find the smaller pieces much higher quality and more interesting than the larger ones. They are accurate and true to size, but every now and then you'll get a simple stick, not a piece of wood with character. Overall, I would order again. Oh, and they do have A LOT of tannins, so be prepared to prep them. Perfect for a Blackwater tank.

I don't know what people were talking about i got wood of every Size, the quality is great. I had almost too much for a ten gallons. Now it all depends on what you want to do with it. But I had enough to put in my 20 gallon as well. I like a the natural look with fish tanks..not a fan of the funky colors..it's also drift wood they are not going to look like the pictures. You have to use you imagination... I also followed the boil 3 hour and changed the water 3 times.
