Fixed my headless server resolution
Total lifesaver for my headless setup. I just plugged it in and it worked immediatelyโno more resolution headaches or connectivity issues. Itโs a simple, set-it-and-forget-it kind of gadget that does exactly what it's supposed to. Super happy with how it handled the display detection.

It's cheap and it works.
It's cheap and it works. Not excellent quality, but adequate.

Great for servers to RDP into
I host a couple servers that are sitting in a utility closet. I mostly RDP into them, and I was annoyed that the RDP session would mimick the resolution of the cheap, old monitor I had hooked into the servers in that closet, and that they had to have a display connected into them to get any kind of visual out, even through RDP. I bought these so I could have the full 4k that my home office computer uses, and without having to have a physical display connected into them all the time. and for that it works great. If I put the RDP in full screen, it looks and behaves like my monitor is connected directly to the target machine. I understand a lot of people use these for Crypto Mining, and to those people I wish your profit margin tanks and you lose everything you've invested. You deserve it. Sincerely, everyone who actually cares about computers and can't afford parts anymore.

Works for My OBS Needs
If you need one, you probably already know what this is, but if you are buying for someone else who needs it, just know that the DTECH HDMI Dummy Plug works perfectly for OBS if you're looking to use it with OSC. There are other uses for it such as for Twitch Streaming, Crypto Mining, and gaining remote access to your computer at a 4K resolution, but we're only using for OBS purposes and can safely say it works great. It's simply plug-and-go, and at $11 for two dummy plugs, it's a bargain. Overall works well without any problems.

Great for remote servers/systems
To an extent this product works. I get a display when using anydesk and for what it does it's great running a headless pc. My main problem is the latency and lag when I had that dummy hdmi during my remote sessions into my headless system. Running at the full 4k was barely usable, but turning it to 1080p made it better but still had a significant lag/latency. But it works decently great, just something you have keep in mind.

A Perfect Liar
I run a home web server with no monitor, and access it via VNC. When restarting, I'd have to plug it into a monitor or it would default to super low resolution and run at a snail pace. This magnificent little liar, however, has the computer convinced there a high resolution monitor attached to it, so VNC works like normal, delivering a high resolution screen at full speed. Easily worth the money.

Also emulates audio
Setting up some netbooks to act as music players in restaurants and need to leave them with the lids closed. With recent model laptops lid closed has disabled the GPU making for problems with remote control software. (not working at all, working with errors, etc.) Adding a ghost adapter forces the GPU to remain active solving the remote access problem. Since these will be used for music playback, I was going to buy USB audio adapters and assign the music app to that, with the default left to the laptop speakers for Windows system sounds and other apps. But with the ghost HDMI adapter, I can set that as the default, sending all non-music audio to it (effectively muting the laptop) and then just assign the music app audio to the headphone jack. This way there's no worry that a Windows notification will send a loud DINNG throughout the restaurant lol :) So, decent price, they work well so far, I'm happy.

For headless mini PCs
After setting up my first mini PC with an Intel iGPU as a headless server, I ran into what is apparently a common issue: the PC would not boot into the GUI without a connected monitor. In addition to that, the Intel video driver would not load properly, meaning I couldn't use the GPU for Plex hardware transcoding. And finally, I couldn't RDP/VNC into the machine. It seems like this little dummy plug fixed all of my issues. Linux recognized it as a connected monitor, and now the machine boots properly, the Intel video driver loads as expected and I can remotely connect to the PC. An interesting solution to an interesting problem.

Perfect invisible 2nd screen for Powerpoint
Works amazingly well, buying more as I keep sharing them with colleagues. This is a must for anybody who regularly does Powerpoint presentations from a laptop. This gives you a second "virtual" monitor that you can share over Teams, Zoom calls, etc... It's great for remote calls with a customer, and for those times when you're presenting in a room that uses Teams to screen share to the conference screen. It means you don't need to lug around a second monitor, but can still use presenter mode with all the speaker notes and controls on your laptop, and share the extra screen with just the customer side of the presentation visible.
