Finally, a TVP That Actually Has the Perfect Meaty Texture!
I've tried several brands of textured vegetable protein over the years, and most of them end up as mushy, sad little flakes that dissolve into whatever sauce I'm cooking. This one is completely different. The larger chunk size is an absolute game-changer—they maintain a satisfying, chewy, meaty texture that holds up beautifully in everything from chili to tacos to pasta sauce. It actually feels like I'm eating something substantial, not just filler. The fact that it's unflavored is a huge plus because it's a blank canvas. These crumbles soak up whatever you cook them in like a sponge. A good beef-style broth, some smoked paprika, or even just a rich marinara sauce, and they transform into something genuinely delicious. I've fooled meat-eaters with these more than once. Plus, knowing they're non-GMO and gluten-free gives me peace of mind.If you've been disappointed by other TVP brands, do yourself a favor and try this one. The texture is perfect, the larger chunks are versatile, and it's become a pantry staple in my kitchen. I honestly can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a high-quality, plant-based meat substitute.

Give it a try, it is similar to tofu, but tastes better.
When things happened with lock down, I made sure to purchase a whole bunch of freeze dried goodies as well as dehydrated vegan protein "meat". These things came in handy and I absolutely loved them for that reason. They cook out really quick. I didn't rehydrate them at all, I just threw them into whatever sauce I was cooking or gravy and they soaked the flavor right up and made everything a lot simpler. Over rice, with potatoes (cubed or mashed), as sauteed chicken over ceasar salad. The price is pretty good and the ingredients are similar to that of taking vitamins honestly. I don't know about the variety, cause I only get the chicken one and the sixe is pretty good, cause you don't need to use a lot.

Just bought this again, which says a lot!
This was very good tvp. The flavor was mild like soy curls, basically flavorless, which I prefer to flavored brands of tvp. I especially like the size of these -- small enough to be used as a ground beef substitute in chili, but still big enough to sub for satisfying chicken bits in chick'n veggie soup, without being large strips or chunks like soy curls. Not the most affordable tvp, which is why I gave only 4 stars. Until I can find a cheaper alternative, I'll be using these regularly.

Big pieces!
Good, quality TVP and the size of the chunks are great. There are some small ones in there, but overall they're nice big chunks instead of flakes. Just perfect for adding to stews and for making vegan chili. Will make this a regular purchase!

This works good in so many recipes.
Good meat alternative, so easy to use and store.I make a lot of soups and chilis although i'm not a vegetarian i am trying to cut back on red meat and well meat period. This really mixes, and imitates ground beef, or any type of meat really well. It soaks up the flavor in the recipe and looks like meat.

Pretty good texture
Pretty good, I just soak it in veggie broth or soy or water and then brown it up and put in tacos, spaghetti sauce , beans etc.

Not a fan - but good if you are
I used these for the first time in a stew as a beef/lamb replacement. The pieces I got were smaller than stew sized chunks and more like marble, crumbled sausage sized. You can see them just south of the potatoes in the picture. I wouldn't really call them chunks in that case. I added them to the stew without soaking first thinking they would absorb the broth and end up chewy and tasty which is pretty much what happened. They were still spongier than I would have liked, however. That's probably a me problem and not the fault of the product. They are "neutral" flavored for the most part, but there is an odd after taste I can't describe. It reminded me of soy curls but not as assertive. I guess it just wasn't my favorite and if I had to make the stew again, I would have used seitan or left out any kind of meat substitute entirely. I still have the rest of the bag, so I'll give them another try in something else. I could see them being a good sub for sausage on pizza or in biscuits and gravy. Overall, 3 stars for me but I could see them being a 5 star product if you love the flavor and texture.

Disappointed
Disappointed...crumbs, not chunks; no instructions on bag nor website. I'll prepare the way I do with my soy curls. Won't buy again.
