Seeing as I cannot afire the cold circulating contraption that is at my physical therapy appointments, this is the next best thing. The soft lining ensures the wrap doesn't stick to your skin or pull at any stitches, if you had surgery like I did. Works great to take down swelling. Can make it as tight or as loose as you need. And what's great is you can get up and move if you need to, and the ice pack doesn't move. Sturdy design. Freezes fast and lasts for up to 1/2 an hour. And the two pack ensures that if you need more time being on ice, or need to alternate, you can easily switch back and forth. Love this. Will order again if need be.

I injured my knee a few weeks ago and was told to apply ice to it several times a day. After a few days of fighting with plastic bags full of ice cubes, and a small round ice bag that wouldn't stay put, I went in search of a more efficient method of wrapping my knee with ice. I was VERY pleased to discover these knee ice wraps! The XL size wraps completely around my knee, and the velcro straps keep in firmly in place. It gets very cold! There are 2 wraps in the package, so you always have one ready to use. AND it arrived the next day--when I needed it asap!

I'm uncertain of the negative reviews. I am fortunate to have an upright freezer and leaving these knee pads in the freezer for "8" (or more hours) I am able to get 20 minutes of "cold" therapy. I am a mountain biker who has recently started a "running" program. I am a huge advocate for "cold therapy" and "ice packs". I'm 6' 3". I purchased the XL and these are more than large enough to wrap around my knee completely. The velcro straps are wide and have a good latch. The ice packs are double sided. I enjoy cold therapy so, I choose the smooth side, but I have used the material side. Obviously, the material side is not as intense. For the people saying they're not "cold enough", could be attributed to their freezer settings (perhaps their not getting cold enough)

I bought a set of these in the months before knee surgery, to reduce pain in both knees. After the surgery (both knees, partial replacement), I ended up getting a second pair, as part of the rotation with other ice packs and an ice machine. The good: they wrap completely around the knee and apply cold to all sides at the same time. The stretchy Velcro straps hold them on pretty well -- well enough to stand up for a moment, anyway. I use the fuzzy-side-in at first, and get 10-15 minutes of cold, then turn them over and get 20-30 more minutes of cold. The not so good: The Velcro wraps are a pain, as they stick to everything and make it hard to apply the wraps. When fresh from the freezer, they are very solid and stiff and don't conform well. They are large and bulky and take up a lot of freezer space, and then they last less than an hour before needing 4-6 more hours in the freezer. So the large size is both the best part of these wraps, and the most annoying part. But they have been useful in the week since the surgery.

After knee replacement, my partner was told to use icepacks, which he kept moving around to target specific spots of pain. However, it was a messy, time consuming and ineffective process. I happened to read other reviews here of these knee ice wraparounds and they have been a godsend. It instantly reduced the pain; he was able to fall asleep with one as it went from the twenty-minute frozen period to thawing--he hadn't been able to get any decent sleep before this. Having two is important so that you can have a steady freeze-and-rotate process. As he said, these are one of the best things to happen in terms of pain management. Nothing much else worked. Please note that we have not found that the packs fully harden; they stay a bit soft even after three or more hours in the freezer, but they do stay frozen for 20 minutes before gradually cooling off or rather cooling down.

These are comfortable and convenient if you want to keep an ice pack on to make a short walk somewhere but, they just don't stay cold long enough to be worthwhile. If using the plush side toward the skin side (per the directions), I can expect about 10 minutes top. Then I flip it over to the vinyl side and get about another 10 minutes. Disappointing

I had my knee replaced last December and these things were a life saver, especially the first couple weeks of constant icing. I bought two sets and they worked in a steady rotation in and out of my freezer and never wore out or even showed wear. Would recommend for icing your knee (s) for post op from surgeries.

I don't normally write product reviews on Amazon but this has been such a good purchase I thought I should. I had a total knee replacement last week and the rehab requires 15-20 minutes of ice packs every 3-4 hours. I had a first aid ice pack but, because the knee swells so dramatically with this surgery, I had to apply it to four surfaces of the knee - top, bottom, left and right - so it took an hour to complete. I ordered the XL version of this ice wrap (and it still only covers 80% of the bloated knee surface, but you wouldn't want it bigger or it'd be useless for a regular-sized knee) and it's fantastic! It straps on easily and I can do pretty much the whole knee in 15 minutes: it's not only more effective in encircling the knee joint better than a regular ice pack, but it's much more efficient in terms of timing so I am now more inclined to use it. There are two, which I alternate so there's always a cold one ready to go. The inner lining has a velour-like finish that protects the skin, so no tea towel or wrapping is needed in the application. The straps are long and the velcro effective. All up, it's made the ice-pack part of the TKR recovery much, much easier and I would strongly recommend this to anyone facing that surgery.

Great product not only for knees but other body parts. I like the stretchy straps helps with tension . Will purchase more

Recently I had an acl reconstruction and used these all the time. I had one in the freezer and one on my knee, worked a treat. I am also a bigger guy and found the sizing to be perfect.

I bought this product for my knee replacement surgery and they were excellent. Having two in the box meant that I could alternate between the two easily and having a plastic bag for each was great. They were comfortable and the flocked side meant that I wasn’t putting a freezing cold pack on my knee which was much more comfortable. Once the flocked side got warm, I would turn it over and it was still cool. Ths straps are long enough to hold firmly in place without being too tight and they are fully adjustable for any size leg. I would definitely recommend this product.
