Cheap and easy to use. This is what I was looking for when building my server.

Works like a charm. I needed something to fool my remote desktop software into thinking there was a monitor attached, and this worked. Been working all afternoon and no issues so far.

Worked perfectly! Contains a flashable EEPROM. I was able to generate a custom EDID with timings/resolution for my ipad screen and flash it back to the dongle. Now I can use it an additional monitor with the native resolution.

Sometimes you just need a GUI on a headless server. This lets me use remote desktop programs to interface with my remote server.

NOT sure why others saying different things in the reviews but... the ghost is DEFINITELY 4K. As they're stating. Of course you can select a lower resolution but it does support 4k as it states clearly. I was a bit hesitant so hopefully that helps those who are not sure. I was going to get the CompuLab ghost but I saw a few reviews where the head of the ghost was literally broken off inside the pc and the price at the time was higher than this almost twice. As of design, the plastic feels weak in way that it is best kept in the system without having to constantly plug it in and out every day... Maybe get an extension adapter or something but honestly still its pretty good for the price even if it beaks compared to the compulab at twice the price at the time... All I had to do was literally just plug it in and reboot...and 4K resolution on a ghost display. For those who will be using a ghost display even if something else definitely go with splashtop to control that ghost screen with especially if you're running cpu heavy programs on the ghost display/ device. And I tried it all... team viewer, join.me etc... they were beyond slow and some even crashed on me.

Worked fine until it stopped working for some reason. I would not recommend it.

It's a niche product for sure, but it does exactly what I needed. On my Ubuntu servers, AnyDesk would glitch out if someone remotes in while my HDMI switch is toggled to a different device. Plugging one of these in tricks the GPU to continue drawing even when there is no physical display connection, which solves the problem. They don't seem to truly support 4K60Hz, but what headless server needs that kind of resolution? I doubt if the low-power GPU even supports it.

This product works if you have 1920x1080 or less on both ends. Higher resolutions do "work" but I was unable to get a decent display image. Better than nothing, and inexpensive, it will allow a headless server to be accessed with various remote (VNC, RDP) software. Inexpensive too. If you are trying to seamlessly connect to modern Apple computers, you should consider the higher quality and more expensive 8k adapters with a good cable instead. That's what I did. I'll keep this in the drawer as an emergency item.

Used this to provide a termination on a video card for a Virtual Machine (Windows) I was running on Un-raid with GPU passthru.

Small, elegant and works perfectly. When connected, my PC sees it as a 4K monitor. This makes steam streaming sessions work properly with no additional monitors connected. I have wanted to hide my big PC away in the basement with ethernet and no monitor and stream content from it, to create a quiet, serene home office, and this headless ghost lets me do that! Love it.

Windows11で4kモニターを使用している環境で 使用しているリモートソフトがモニターの電源を切るとアクセスできなかったのでこちらを使用しました Windows11側の設定次第で問題なく使え解像度も変えることなくリモートアクセスもできたので良いと思います
