Primarily a vehicle to showcase the vocal talents of Joseph Williams and Bill Champlin, this album also features the superb guitar playing of primary producer/composer Peter Friestedt, and a couple of strong vocal/songwriting contributions by Bill Champlin's son Will on a couple of tracks.Fans of the Toto albums 'Farenheit', 'The Seventh One' and 'Toto XIV' will particularly love this album as most of the songwriting and playing is in that vain. I would also recommend you track down a copy of the 'Williams Friestedt' album from 2011.I've given CWF 5 stars because I've played it every day for 3 weeks now, and still look forward to each listen. Thank you and congratulations to Mr Friestedt for pulling this project together. I look forward to hearing your future offerings.

As expected simply a killer AOR album. You combine the chemistry or Toto, Chicago and Friestedt along with great songwriting and its pretty hard not to have a winning formula.. This is sincerely one of those albums where every tune on the album is great. Randy Goodrums awesome writing is showcased too which is just another formula to making this album a must have :-)

What a great group of musicians. In contrast to today's mono Top 100, this is a great CD for people who enjoy real music!

All I can say is just listen. This release is awesome, Bill Champlin and Joseph Williams have never sounded better vocaly. Great release.

Do yourself a favor. BUY THIS ALBUM. Great music from tremendously talented musicians.

nice mix of Chicago and Toto!!

I am a huge fan of all 3 musicians who have done some wonderful material over the years. This is not one of them. Middle of the road pop, lacks feel and passion. The first two Peter Friestedt with Bill C were sensational, so this is a huge disappointment. The recording and mastering is also poor - no life, expression and dynamics. It's not a must have in your collection.

Superb polished rock with strong songs

Tous les amis sont là : Steve Porcaro (keyboards on "Aria"), Randy Goodrum (piano on "Evermore"), Tamara Champlin (back vocals), le fiston Will Champlin (lead vocal on "Hearts At War" & "Rivers Of Fear"), Herman Matthews (drums on "After The Love Has Gone" version live) ... Avec une section rythmique scandinave qui n'a rien à envier aux Ricains (ils ont d'ailleurs tous étudié là-bas ...), des cuivres (saxes & trumpet) digne des meilleurs crus californiens ... En résumé, si vous êtes fans de Toto, Bill Champlin, Chicago, Joseph Williams (ex-vocal de Toto d'ailleurs), ce disque est pour vous, des mélodies arrangées aux cordeaux, les guitares de Peter Friestedt magnifiques (l'esprit de Steve Lukater, ex-Toto aussi, n'étant pas loin ...).Vite, cliquez sur votre panier, ce magnifique disque va vite devenir un collector, à l'instar des Joseph Williams hors de prix ! Seul bémol, ce Cd ne dure que quarante et une minutes à peine, certainement pour coller au format des radios FM californiennes, les titres dépassant rarement les quatre minutes, dommage, on en redemande !

元シカゴのビル・チャンプリン，TOTOの3代目ヴォーカルのジョセフ・ウィリアムス，スウェーデンのギタリストでLA Projectでも活動中のピーター・フリーステッドという豪華な顔ぶれによるAORユニットです。それにしても，ここへ来てAORブーム再燃でしょうか。最近，秀作が多くてAORが元気です。　サウンド的には，デヴィッド・フォスターが作曲してピーター・セテラ（この人も元シカゴですね）が歌ったみたいなメロディアスで爽快なものが多く，AORと言っても，ソウルやブルースの影響が強いボズ・スキャッグスとか，ジャズとロックを融合したスティーリー・ダンなどとは趣が違いますので，AORファンでも評価はちょっと分かれるかもしれません。　とか言いながら，冒頭の「Runaway」。メロディアスで爽快なギターが鳴り出すと，思わず「来た～っ！」って感じになりますね。さすがです。「Aria」のスケールの大きな伸びやかなサウンドも，「待ってました」って感じです。ジョセフのヴォーカルも良いです。　個人的には，「Carry On」に魅かれました。メロディアスなギターに優雅なピアノが絡み，ゆったりとスウィングしていくナンバー。コーラス部分は，TOTOの「アフリカ」を明るく爽やかにしたような感じ。ギターの奏でるメロディーが壮大で，それに引っ張られてジョセフの歌声もどんどん伸びやかに過熱していきます。続く「Nightfly」（ドナルド・フェイゲンを思い出してしまいます）は，陽気でエバーグリーンなコーラスとホーンセクションでスタイリッシュに決めたサビが最高です。　で，E.W.＆Fの名曲「After the Love Has Gone」。これって，デヴィッド・フォスターやジェイ・グレイドンと一緒にビル・チャンプリンが作曲した曲だったんですね。道理でバッチリとハマっているわけで。歌い出しのジョセフの歌声がハスキーで枯れた渋い味わいで，サビは原曲に忠実なシルキーな仕上がり。この対比が何とも良いです。　エンディングの「Evermore」は，アコースティックで穏やかなメロディーが，ほのかに切なくてホロッとさせられます。　オーセンティックなサウンドで，AORファンならずとも清々しい気持ちにさせられる1枚です。
