Kills Nutsedge In Garden Beds
Works as intended. I had an infestation on nutsedge in my garden bed and empero killed it to the root. I made sure that I sprayed the leaves and added a surfactant to penetrate the nutsegde. Make sure you set your sprayer to target the sedge and do not overspray.

Very Satisfied
I had never heard of Nutsedge until this spring after moving into a new neighborhood last November. When mowing season came around, I noticed something in the yard that looked like grass but grew very quickly… Nutsedge. Three days after mowing, it would be 2 or 3 inches higher than the surrounding turfgrass. It was also growing in the pine needles around my shrubbery and in my monkey grass.I began pulling it out of the shrubbery beds. After about a month of this, I saw on a YouTube video that this was actually Nutsedge, and that pulling it was an absolute ‘no-no’ because it comes back with a vengeance.Empero is designed to kill Nutsedge. It’s a knock-off of SedgeHammer, has the same chemical make-up and is a little cheaper. It worked well for me on the Nutsedge, but I was careful to use it as instructed by the YouTube videos I found. The videos cautioned that it would not be effective unless used properly.I waited several days after mowing so I could identify the Nutsedge since it had grown taller than the surrounding grass. I used a pump-up tank sprayer to spot-treat where needed. After spraying, do not mow again for at least 2 days… I waited 3 or 4. According to the instructions, Empero is rainproof after 4 hours. It takes about 4 days, but the Nutsedge will slowly begin turning yellow and stop growing. It will eventually die but may take 4 or 5 weeks after spraying. The Empero did not damage my turfgrass or the Monkey grass in my shrubbery beds.I followed the mixing directions of 0.9 grams per gallon of water and added a little dishwashing liquid as a surfactant. Mixing as directed, the 1.33 ounce bottle will make about 40 gallons of solution. After adding the chemical to the water, I used a paint mixer attached to a drill and stirred the solution for 2 minutes to dissolve the granules. I used almost the entire bottle spot-treating one acre of grass. The included pic shows the Nutsedge (which has turned yellow) 7 days after treatment and 3 days after mowing.I had good success with this product and would not hesitate to use it again.

Works great
Works just as well as more expensive nutsedge killer.Nutsedge is a beast to eradicate so this takes time to get down to the roots and work its magic. Give it time as it may take a week or two to start showing results. This stuff is not instant nor is it designed to be.

Product worked better than everything else I’ve tried. Must give product time to work. 80% of the Nutsedge is yellowing. Reapplication every two weeks appears to be necessary to catch sprouting after previous application.

Not effective for me
Hasn't touched the nutsedge in my yard. Followed the mixing instructions to the letter and sprayed the weeds directly as well as several feet around it. I waited a few weeks and doubled the concentration and sprayed again, and not only has it not killed any of the existing nutsedge, new nutsedge is popping up in the sprayed areas. I guess I will go back to the Othro premixed spray, I was hoping this would be a more economical option, but its not working for me.

Great product - does what it promises
I had a new lawn laid - problem was, he gardner didn kill off all the nutsedge that was under the soil, so come spring, I have a massive infestation poking up.I tried a general purpose weed killer and a more specific one but both failed to give any obvious effect. After a ton of resaerch, I found this. A little opricy but worth every penny.be sure to get the 'surfactant' - you'll need it.two applications, a month apart, have killed 90% of my nutsedge so I can just do spot treatments now.For my lawn, I think this small tub of powder will last me a few years

True selective nutsedge herbicide
I was hesitant at first, because my lawn was coming along nicely. There were patches of nutsedge growing faster than the lawn itself and was afraid that it would take over the lawn if left un treated. That’s when I decided to get this nutsedge herbicide. It’s ten days since applying this product and boy-o-boy, was I elated to see all the treated areas show the nutsedge dried-up. The lawn grass was left untouched.I will definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to try out this product. Ten stars to you…..
