I go to Orange Theory - a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) exercise class - about 5 times per week. There is a combination of rowing, running, and weights / agility. I think these shoes are excellent for Orange Theory, as their stack height (height of the midsole foam) is reasonable, there are some guardrails to provide stability, and enough cushion for 3 to 5 mile runs on the treadmill. Surprisingly, finding a good pair of shoes for the rowing machine can be difficult. If the shoe has too much foam and overly cushioned, one loses a lot of force in the leg drive due to the cushioning in the shoe. The Adrenalines have a reasonable amount of foam and the foam is a bit more firm, so not as much energy is lost in the shoes during the row. The shoes have "guard rails" around the heel of the shoe. The idea behind these guard rails is to limit the heel movement if one overpronates (role in) or supinates (roll out). These guard rails really help with agility exercises that have a lot of lateral movement, keeping the foot planted in the shoe. I have tried agility exercises in running shoes that have high stack heights and limited lateral stability and I;m always afraid of rolling an ankle. The shoes are designed for running and they are comfortable for the treadmill. I can easily do 3 to 5 mile runs with no issues. The fit is ample - the toebox is pretty wide. The feel of the foam is firm, rather than squishy like some of the new foams. There's plenty of rubber on the outsole, so they won't wear out quickly. The only con with these shoes is the foam is the tried and trued EVA (essentially Styrofoam and Elmer's Glue), which I find tends to break down faster than some of the new foams like Adidas Boost, Nike React, and Saucony's Powerrun+.

Size 12.5 M 6'1" male, 200 lbs. Primary use: Walking I have have had extremely flat feet for most of my 81 years. I've tried various running/walking shoes rated for flat feet, and numerous inserts. Some were good, most OK, but none that gave me the support I need for walking any distance. Based on reviews from multiple running/walking sites I decided to try these. I was not disappointed. 1. Support: I have been using these for a week. They are the only shoes that performed well and that did not require additional arch support inserts. The arch support is high and firm but not imposing. The lacing system allows me to adjust the fit to maximize support around the arch where I need it (My feet are oddly shaped, and suffer from traumatic arthritis at the left metatarsal, so that's critical for me). 2. Balance and stride: Like many people with flat feet, maintaining balance can be a challenge. The arch support helps control overpronation and the heel is shaped such my forward stride feels natural, and it minimizes shock.. 2. Comfort: Given my arthritis, my feet are never completely comfortable, even at rest. But given that, these are the best shoes I had for moderate walking. I wouldn't mind if the insole part was a little softer, but the extra support is a good tradeoff. So if you have extremely flat feet and need a truly supportive walking shoe, you should give these a try.

I bought these shoes for 13 hour days on my feet as a nurse. I am happy with the purchase and glad I bought them. My knees and feet feel a lot better already and they get lots of compliments too! I bought two pairs to alternate between (teal and white) and had been previously wearing a pair of GTS 21’s. Overall they’re much more stylish, a little more supportive (they feel wider and taller), and about the same comfort level as the 21’s. The only downside in my opinion… they are a little less durable than the 21’s. The 21’s used a harder rubber material on the tread. The new shoes use a softer material on the tread, and I have noticed some small chunks missing already. Mind you I’ve only had these shoes for 2 months, and I only work four 13 hour shifts a week and alternate between my two pairs. I go for a 30 minute walk outside every morning before work on pavement, walk through a parking garage, then spend the rest of my day indoors. I’ve never used these shoes to go on a run. If you’re wearing the shoes casually or indoors I’d 100% recommend them. If you’re looking for something to run or hike in and value durability over style, I’d probably take a look at the 21’s. Photos of the two for comparison. Can’t go wrong either way though. Edit: 4 star review is only for the extreme decrease in durability that I’ve noticed, I would expect them to be a little tougher for the price. Other than that they are 5 star shoes and I’m still glad I bought them.

I am an active 71 year old male with wide flat feet and a little arthritis in a metatarsal joint on the top of one foot. The pain was unreal. I tried about five different shoes (that didn't help), before I settled on the Adrenalines. I happened to be wearing them on a trip to my podiatrist, and he told me that these were the exact shoes I should be wearing. I'm not a marathon runner, but I am a walker and I do go to the gym every day. The arthritis is still there, but the pain is gone and I haven't had to return to the podiatrist. I wear these shoes all day every day, and I think I'm on my sixth or seventh pair. I put them on in the morning and take them off at bedtime. They are sturdy, provide a lot of support, and last a long time. I can't say that for the cheaper brands I've tried. I scrub the soles and wash them in the washing machine regularly followed by air drying. When they get too ratty, they become my go-to gardening shoes. They aren't cheap, but the comfort is worth every penny.

Edited below: So customer service reached out to me regarding the damage of the shoes. And really it is my fault.... Running shoes by nature are designed to handing front and back forces that you would expect to see while running. But by using them to play pickleball, the side walls of the shoes are not designed to handle the quick sideways forces that happen during play, which has caused the holes. Not only did they recommend proper shoes for that sport to me, they also offered to replace them at no cost which blew my mind. Such amazing customer service to match the fantastic shoes. Original review: I purchased these shoes almost a year ago, planning to wear them for working out but never got started actually wearing them until around December. So I have been wearing them about twice a week either to the gym or on a run, for about 5 months and the inside edges of the shoes have worn completely through. Normally I have had great experiences with brooks shoes, but these are such a disappointment. My last pair lasted almost 2 years of harsh work wear. These shoes are so comfy and look great but they absolutely should not be wearing out like this under the minimal stress I have put them under

Great running shoes. Comfortable. Good cushioning. Good for sensitive knees. No problems with sore feet or toes even after longer distances. These are my third Brooks Adrenaline's. Will buy another when these are worn down.
