This has been a great camera to watch the wildlife in my yard. It’s very easy to set up and I watch on my phone. The motion detection is super and the camera moves around to view different angles. There are many options available when setting up the camera.The customer service is outstanding. I had some issues with my wi-fi going in and out and emailed the company and they answered right away. They stayed with me and we got the issue resolved. I really appreciated the help.

I bought 2 of these and regret the decision immensely.! I have used Amcrest cameras for many years going back all the way to model IPM 721's I have a number of IPM 841's, IPM 941's and IPM 1190's none of those cameras have given me nearly as much grief that this Ash47 has. Starting with the blatantly false advertising of zoom feature which is not a feature of the camera at all.! Amcrest gets away with this because their logic is flawed and they think that the digital zoom on your smart phone somehow counts as a zoom feature of the camera itself. total BS these cameras do not have any zoom at all That is the opener. Now configuring these cameras is a pain in the butt . They frequently lose the connections. they cannot be remotely configured and require you to physically scan the cameras QR with your cell phone or they will not work. They freeze up constantly sometimes for 20 30 40 seconds at a time which is unacceptable. they do not work with any web-based software and even if you use them with the NVR from Amcrest you lose out on functionality. Amcrest seems to only want to get your user information and streaming back to their Chinese masters I suppose. I finally did manage to get them to work using Amcrest own surveillance Pro software but in a severely crippled mode. None of the advanced functions are available and pan tilt does not function properly at all. The camera wants to slew all the way to one side or the other and then will not respond to commands to go back to home position. customer support is a joke. They hire people whose only technical expertise is that they know how to read a script. The moment you get them to go off script and demonstrate that you actually know what you are talking about they get lost like deer in headlights and have no idea what they are doing or how their own equipment works. I would not buy these ever again and recommend no one purchase these. A compatible outdoor camera and much more reliable with very similar features but also with no zoom is the IP5M 1190 W at least with that camera you get access to the web interface and it works with their surveillance Pro software

Nonetheless, the RTSP-ONVIF compatibility makes this camera a solid choice for anyone looking to expand or upgrade their security setup.

It features a zoom function, although it's not optical and the more you use the digital zoom, the grainier the picture becomes.You have the option to connect it to an internet cable, which will require running the cable. Unfortunately, it lacks a Power over Ethernet (PoE) option, which could have been a handy feature. Despite this, I found setting it up on my Wi-Fi to be a straightforward process, which will likely appeal to the majority of users.The customer support provided by Amcrest is commendable. I purchased a used camera that was missing some hardware and linked to someone else's email. I contacted Amcrest through their support website and the issue was resolved promptly. The camera was unlocked within a few hours and the replacement hardware arrived a few days later. All they required was my Amazon invoice information.The setup process is incredibly user-friendly – scan the QR code and follow the instructions to have the camera up and running in minutes. It's also easy to customize your settings.The camera and its accompanying app do not require a monthly fee. You can choose to store your recordings on the cloud for a fee, or locally on an SD card at no extra cost. I opted for the latter.The motion tracking works effectively, although it can be overly sensitive in certain conditions such as rain, causing frequent alerts. To counter this, I deactivated the motion tracking alerts and only used the human tracking feature.The human tracking function is adequate. It tracks my movement for a few seconds before returning to its default position, and then resumes tracking if I'm still within its field of view. While it would be preferable if it continuously tracked a person, it's worth noting that this is a $100 camera with a built-in human tracking feature. Comparable cameras with this feature usually fall within the $400-$500 range.The notification customization for motion and human tracking is a feature I truly appreciate. I set mine to alert me when it detects motion or humans from 10pm to 6am, while still recording all motion throughout the day.
