I wanted to write a review to set off the negative feedback left by one of the users.Yes, the set does look kind of cheap right from the box. It contains plastic shapes and magnetic sheet. You have to peal the protective sheet to get to the sticky part and then punch out the magnetic shapes to match with plastic ones and hold them for a few seconds for glue to set. Didn't look good, I gotta admit, but once you over it - looks very nice and is durable. I've had the magnetic mighty mind that lasted over a year (still in great shape and could be handed down to another child easily). Also for those who are graduating from mighty mind, this set is bigger. You can't buy regular edition supermind (or supermind design book) and match the cards with your current magnetic tray from mightymind as it won't fit. However you can do the other way around to save money. Buy this one and a regular mighty mind. The shapes are exactly the same, so you can use 1 magnetic set for both and a bigger tray for both as well.

A great educational toy that kids love!
I love this, and more importantly so does my son. We purchased this when he was 4 and he's now 5 and still likes to play with it. Yes, you have to peel the magnetic pieces off and stick them to the back of the tiles, which will take all of 5 minutes. No big deal in my opinion. The one thing that I didn't like was that is many cases you have the exact amount of pieces you need to complete the puzzle. This means that if you lose a piece (which we did), you might not be able to complete it. It also means that 2 kids can't play at once. I only have one but I could see how that could be frustrating if you had 2 kids who had to take turns. I do believe however that you can purchase extra pieces, so that might be worth doing if it's going to be a shared toy. Overall, I still think it's great and will keep kids challenged and occupied for a while.

Picked wrong present for my kids
First let me say there is NOTHING wrong with this product its just that my kids (2 girls) have never warmed up to it. They love to draw and create but this one just never appealed to them. I love it and I probably made the mistake of buying something I would have loved as a kid instead of something they would love.

Not magnetic
I had bought these many years ago and use them at work (I'm an Occupational Therapist). I loved how they were magnetic and less frustrating for the kids. I ordered two new sets for different locations and neither one is magnetic - very frustrating!!

We have mighty mind
Since my child has done all of the mighty mind puzzles, I thought she would love these. She was tested by an educational psychologist and shown to be gifted, but was challenged in her spatial and block skills. Mighy Minds was recommended to help with this and it had worked quite well. She loves Legos now too.

Magnetic Supermind
I started buying these to help keep grandkids busy and to engage their minds in something. It's a great tool. I would recommend it for any children old enough not to put the small pieces in their mouths. I have the magnetic kind and the one that's not. I would recommend the magnetic because your not always having to readjust the pieces. They move too easily, especially with little hands, when they're not magnetic. It only takes a few minutes to stick the magnetic pieces on the backs. I would recommend buying extra magnetic pieces because it seems impossible not to lose a few. With my 3 and 4 year old grandchildren I always work it with them so it can be a teaching time about shapes also and that way they're less likely to end up tossing them around. It would be a great travel toy.

Great! (once we were sent the correct product)
We have two levels of the Magnetic games and my 3 and 6 year olds really enjoy them. Our problem with this one was the UPC was incorrectly placed on the non-magnetic version and they kept sending the wrong product to us. I think it took three or four tries by different sellers to get the correct version. I even emailed and requested that they check the bin and sort through to remove all the wrong versions. That part was a little annoying, but it all worked out in the end and the product is great!

This toy is amazing, keeps child occupied for hours.
The only my concern was the packaging of this toy. First order came damaged, the package must have dropped and toy metalbox was dent. I could not request replacement, so I have to sent back to amazon.com and could not re-ordered from the same site. I have to re-ordered from amazon.ca and also this toy was not adequately packaged, came in the bubble envelope and the metal box was slightly bent. This time damaged was small enough that I can keep this order.
