Little Speaker, Big Sound
This little speaker really blew away my expectations. The volume range fill all use cases for me, from working in the garage, jamming out in the shower, playing calm music during sleep, or hanging out with family and friends. For reference of review, my regular home listening setup includes two 5" JBL LSR305 bookshelf speakers and a JL Audio D110 10" subwoofer.I've listened to many genres of music on it, from many flavors of EDM, to rock, metal, bass music, and ambient. It's really quite incredible how the multiple integrated speakers fill a room or open space with an impressive frequency range. The low end is quite punchy. When turned up, you can hear and almost feel a thumpy kick drum or bass line through an interior home wall. To be clear, you won't be feeling any sub bass or other very low frequencies due to the size of the speaker diaphragm, and it would be unfair to expect that. However, what it does put out is, again, impressive. The mid range is strong. Vocals are clear and remain undistorted at higher volumes. Guitars, synthesizers, and percussion come through nicely.Where this speaker unfortunately falls a bit short is the high end. It's particularly noticeable with cymbals: a just-audible distortion and fuzziness, but it's important to remember we're talking about a portable wireless Bluetooth speaker for $100.For the price point, the sound quality is very good. I highly recommend it for sound and portability alone.Sound quality aside, everything else is as advertised and expected. Bluetooth pairing works normally. Apparently this speaker supports JBL's party mode where adjacent JBL speakers can replicate audio from one source to all of them; I haven't tested that feature. Product quality is good. It looks sleek, feels nice in the hand, and the rubber trim is helpful to prevent it from moving about on uneven surfaces.Battery life is good: it will last upwards of 16 hours at low volume as tested by playing calm music during sleep, and recharging with USB-C is speedy!

JBL Flip 6 - Renewed: Great Sound, Great Price
I purchased the JBL Flip 6 (renewed) two months ago and have been very satisfied. The speaker represents my first JBL purchase. I’ve been messing around with Bluetooth technology since 2002 in one form or another, and this speaker is super-simple to pair with one’s cellphone.About the same time, I purchased a Bose SoundLink Flex. Both have equal performance and are priced with dollars and cents of each other. When I purchase each, I also bought aftermarket silicone speaker protectors (~$12) to ensure a dent-free life and the ability to attach a nice carrying sling/shoulder strap. A good/inexpensive investment.On/off buttons, volume & Bluetooth pairing buttons are located on the Flip 6, however, if one would like to change the default bass and treble tones, you will need to download the JBL Portable app that matches your electronic devices OS platform. I use an iPhone and have had no issues. The app is a basic equalizer control feature one might use in addition to your devices native audio settings. In other reviews and promotional videos, much attention is paid to the waterproof features of JBL’s cylindrical Thermos shaped BT speakers. I suppose this might be relevant if I were to use the speaker while bathing in the tub or shower, however, common sense dictates using a bit more care in where one puts the speaker in the bathroom to begin with. One of the most interesting features is PartyBoost. PartyBoost allows the user to daisy chain other JBl PartyBoost compatible Bluetooth speakers together to play music from a common phone or similar. I assume each speaker would need to be located within a ~26ft radius, which is generally accepted as the average range of Bluetooth antenna technology.Visually, JBL’s Bluetooth speakers are very cool. They come in a variety of colors. My Flip 6 is black, like about everything else I own in personal electronics. JBL even offers camouflage patterns, though I doubt one might catch many deer or elephants with Metallica thrashing away. Perhaps playing tunes to celebrate a good hunt makes more sense. The end caps of all the cylindrical speakers vibrate when passively resonating sound energy from the front firing woofer/tweeter speakers. Visually, it’s fun, although I’m not sure if it’s indicative of anything else other than air being pushed to and fro about the plastic speaker carcass. After using the speaker for a while, I’d say I like it as much as my Bose SoundLink Mini, which is kind of the benchmark for mini Bluetooth speakers. Tiny speaker, big sound, zero distortion. If you are interested in an easy to pair, easy to use, quick charging, long battery life (10-12hrs), great sounding and good looking small Bluetooth speaker, the JBL Flip 6 is a great unit. I purchased this speaker “renewed” at around $96. It arrived in a generic box, with instructions, minus the chunk of paracord one might use as a wrist or back pack attachment. Oh well. In perfect condition.Do spring for the aftermarket silicone bumper. Thanks

Survived months outside in the weather in a metal bucket exposed to rain and the elements!
We use 2 paired Flip 6 speakers on our patio many hours each week in the warmer months. Love these speakers. We hang each on a pergola post to get a wide sound field.Last year we lost one of the speakers--actually wondered if a pool guest stole it! Months later, when taking the metal plant boxes off the posts for the winter, we discovered the Flip 6 had fallen into it. It was sitting in water and dirt, etc. I wish I'd taken a photo of it! We cleaned it up and charged it. It still works great! These speakers can take a lot of abuse! For the price, size, construction quality, and reliabilty, I think it would be hard to beat the sound quality of the JBL Flip 6. I also have a Flip 5, and it's about the same. These little speakers fill a larger space than you'd expect.

Totally amazing! Much better than the JBL Charge 5. You should get 2 of these!
I know my title sounds like a paid advertising, but I assure you, it is not. I bought 2 of these with my own money. Initially, I got the JBL Charge 5. A very nice BT speaker with good sound. I have a recording studio in my house and a pair of $2000 reference monitors, so I know what top notch audio out of a speaker should sound like. I wasn't too happy with the Charge 5. It had good sound but the music seemed flat or compressed. Then after reading the specs, I decided to get the Flip 6, it's little brother. WOW! MAMA! Was I impressed! It really takes a lot to impress me audio wise and the Flip 6 did that. They're not $2000 reference monitors, but sound wise, they're in the same ballpark. I have several tracks I use for testing speakers, and the Flip 6 really showed what it could do. The instrument separation is massive. The vocals pop out as does the drums and bass. And speaking of bass, don't let this little guy fool you. Crank this thing up and the bass fills the room. Remember, if a track is mixed poorly, no speaker can make it sound good. And here's the cool thing: This generation of JBL BT speakers can do STEREO! You just need to buy THE SAME model and use the JBL app to connect them. With 1 speaker, the tracks are mixed down to mono, and even that sounds great. With 2 of them, you get the full stereo effect and that is a whole new ballgame, sound wise. Even mono this speaker has better 3-D sound than the Charge 5 which has bigger speakers. I scratch my head and can't figure out how JBL does it. It must be audio wizardry or something. Yes, the Flip 6 doesn't have that massive bass that it's big brother has, but the sound definition and clarity is fantastic. Using the app, you get 3 bands of EQ. In comparing the two, the Charge 5 and the Flip 6, I just cranked the bass up full on the Flip 6's EQ and it was right there with the Charge 5. You can get a Flip 6 'renewed' which is cheaper than new. The 2 renewed ones I got were flawless. I could not find anything wrong with them at all. I got the Teal one which was the cheapest and I like the color. If you just want a loud good sounding BT speaker with a lot of play time, get the Charge 5. If you want high definition sound and a phenomenal stereo music experience, get 2 of the Flip 6. You will thank me later.

Better than the Flip 5 (also a great speaker): just wish connectivity was same for all JBL speakers
Great quality sound (both highs and lows) in a small package. I've had the Clip, Flip, Charge and most recently the Party Box Essential. I think the build quality and sound is one of the best on the market. They are all quite durable and the Flip specifically puts out an amazingly great sound for such a small package. It's been treated roughly, gotten wet, left in the heat and still performs fantastically in it's first few weeks. This is a "renewed" speaker and appears new to me at a great savings. My biggest complaint: JBL can't seem to make up their mind on connectivity protocols between their speakers. I have some Harmon Kardon speakers and they link easily which greatly expands their sound delivery. JBL has had multiple speaker to speaker connection options, but none seem to be consistent. So my Flip, Charge, Clip and Party Box Essential just stare at each other like strangers. Otherwise, this would get a 5 star rating

Best portable speaker I own
I’m a bit of a junkie when it comes to earbuds and portable Bluetooth speakers. I literally have about 25 different pairs of EarPods and about 16 Bluetooth speakers all of high-quality and this JBL one is by far the best. It’s the best being waterproof. It has the best sound. It has an app on it that allows you to adjust the equalizer on it and not just the preset, but your own specific liking. It’s just a really well-made speaker. You can pair them with other JBL speakers so you can have three or four going at the same time and they don’t have to be the exact same JBL speaker they just have to be compatible. You can take phone calls on them and they literally get so loud that I have a three-story house with six bedrooms and the people upstairs when I’m in the basement compliant when I turn the volume all the way up and it doesn’t distort.

Best bang for the buck.
JBL once again outperformed the competition. The Flip 6 is an amazing product and a hi-fi must have for on the go tunes. Plenty of volume. Plenty of bass that the competition can’t beat. One of the best there is!!

Durable, heavy little speaker. Lasts 4-6hrs full blast.
Bought this refurbished about 6 mons. ago and haven't stopped playing music since. It holds a charge for between 4-6 hrs. on full volume. And the speaker gets pretty loud for its size. It's durable/waterproof and easy to connect to cellphone, tablets etc. I would definitely buy again.
