Need Convincing?
I've used Maple Holistic's "Silk 18 Conditioner" for years and love it. So I was excited to give this set a try. If you are reading reviews and are debating about this set, let me do my best to address your concerns. If you are concerned about the: 1. Size vs. price of the bottles: I have really long, thick hair and have struggled in the past with the amount of product it requires each time I wash it. This shampoo and conditioner is highly concentrated and only requires about a quarter sized amount of product to wash my hair. (See pics) Since I only wash my hair once a week, these bottles will last me about 8 months. That is actually a pretty good value if you look at it like that. If you're hair is shorter than mine, yours will probably last much longer. 2. Ingredients: (From the photos and NOT the website) Aqua, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Lauryl Glucoside Carboxylate, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Acrylates Copolymer, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Phytokeratin, Simmondsia chinesis (Jojoba) oil, Peppermint (Menthapiperita) oil, Spearmint (Menta spicata) Oil, Wild Mint (Mentha arvensis) Oil, Bergamot Mint (Menta citrate) Oil, Eucalyptus Mint (Eucalyptus polybractea) Oil. * If you're concerned about any of the ingredients, I looked each one up on the EWG website. All of the non-essential oil ingredients were ranked with a "1" in the Skin Deep Cosmetics Guide. Some of them had "limited" or "none" in the data section. I didn't look up the essential oils because I'm assuming you know about the benefits/concerns of EOs if you are wanting to know about specific ingredients. ;) I'm really picky with the ingredients I put on myself, on my children, or in my house. I actually make almost all of my own soaps, cleaners, and lotions myself. Anyone who has ventured into making products themselves knows that shampoo and conditioner are a hard transition. None of these ingredients gave me reason to be concerned. I would have no problem using them on my children, but I don't know the concentration of certain essential oils, so I don't use this on them. 3. Scent: I am crazy picky about smells and I avoid products that have "fragrance" on the ingredients list. For Maple Holistics to use only essential oils to scent this set, I'm thoroughly impressed!! This smells A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! It smells like mint candies! (YUM!) 4. Quality: As previously mentioned, I have really long hair and it tends to be on the dry side. This is silky smooth. For real. You will probably be surprised how silky your hair feels afterwards. I also have NOT noticed my hair having build up like some shampoos/conditioners tend to feel. My overall opinion (if you care to know) is that I DEFINITELY recommend this! If you found my review informational, please click "helpful" below. Thank you!

No longer have to wash my hair every other day due to the greasiness
Love the smell! My hair is super thick, long, dark, and greasy. This shampoo and conditioner work great to clean my hair and remove the grease and dirt. My hair is smooth and shiny after for a few days. And doesn't seem to get as greasy. Would recommend 100% and will be buying again.

Nice shampoo, great fragrance; a tad drying
I thought I would give it a try. I liked that it had essential oils and had a minty fragrance. I'm allergic to so many things, that it is difficult to purchase products online. I always have to read the ingredient labels, and then fragrances are a "whole 'nother ball of wax" as they say. Since the fragrance is supposed to come from the mint ingredients, I decided to give myself a treat by purchasing and trying it. PROS: I do like the shampoo and conditioner. I really like the fragrance (which is not overpowering and dissipates quickly). I especially liked how it cleaned my hair (one reviewer called it clarifying and that's a good description). I like that the conditioner does not make my hair "heavy". You do not need but a quarter size amount of either. This shampoo allows me to go two to three days between shampooing (depending, of course, on what I've gotten into dust/dirt/activity-wise), and I don't have to style it. Allowing it to "osmose" (which I thought very strange) did provide me with a mind-calming time - I have no idea if it helped the hair! CONS: A Little bit on the expensive side (for my budget) for the size. My straight hair had begun waving/curling this year and I love that! However, this shampoo took the curl right out. My hair did begin waving a little the next day, but I waited 50 years for curly hair and I don't want anything to discourage the little bit of curly-wave it's trying to produce. Also, it seemed to strip the hair color faster than other sulfate shampoos. My hair seemed a little too dry. While the shampoo is specific in "how to use" (allow to osmose for 2 -3 minutes), the conditioner has no instructions whatsoever (do I leave it on for 2 minutes, or rinse right out?). So - the four star is for the price and stripping the curl and color. Otherwise, perhaps a 4 1/5 star. I do like the shampoo - the fragrance and most of the ingredients. I would be willing to try another of their shampoos that might be a little gentler (?) or for use on curly or color-treated hair, if they have any. I think that the dryness of the hair (even with their conditioner) would be better if I use this shampoo maybe once a week (or twice a month) and something else in between. It is more like a a clarifying shampoo. For me, it was worth giving it a try and I like it. However, the cost may prevent me from revisiting it.

Loved it so much we bought again!
I received a free, small sample size of the Sage shampoo -- my boyfriend and I were SO impressed with it, that we wound up ordering full size bottles of the shampoo and the conditioner once we ran out of the sample-size. The shampoo advertises that it is a natural remedy for dandruff, and it REALLY does work. It worked for both my boyfriend's hair, which is thick, curly, and coarse, as well as my fine polish hair. We both battle some occasional dandruff, especially when the weather changes and the air is dry (thank you, Winter). I wouldn't say we have major issues with dandruff, but it is definitely itchy and bothersome at times, and this shampoo really helped to alleviate the itchiness of the dry skin, as well as the little dandruff flakes themselves. I was surprised when my boyfriend was the one who suggested we buy a full-size bottle, since he usually doesn't care about shampoo and body wash. He used to depend on Head & Shoulders, but he said the Sulfate-Free Sage Shampoo smelled better and even worked better. I think my favorite aspect of the shampoo is that it is a natural, sulfate-free remedy, so I feel safe knowing that I'm not further damaging my hair with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and other harmful chemicals that are found in cleaning agents (such as laundry / dish washing detergents). Sometimes when you think of "sulfate-free" shampoos, you think of shampoos that do not lather -- however, this shampoo lathers really well. Like my boyfriend, I also really enjoy the way the Sage Shampoo smells (it is such a refreshing scent). I'm not as much of a fan of the smell of the conditioner, but that is only one con out of the many pros. The conditioner is light and does not weigh my hair down, and it keeps it looking soft and healthy. Plus two bottles (shampoo + conditioner) for the $15 price tag is super helpful, considering we keep ourselves on a fairly tight budget. The bottle is fairly moderate in size; we received the full bottle on October 17th, and we have more than half the bottle left (it is now October 30th). A little bit goes a long way, which is a relief since we are both using it. Overall, both my boyfriend and I are so happy that we received this free sample so that we knew what we were missing out on! We will continue buying this shampoo as long as Amazon continues selling it. Thank you, Maple Holistics, for two very happy customers :)

Great product
Stupidly really damaged my hair when I took up swimming in our local pool about two months ago, and found this shampoo and conditioner. Really works to soften my hair after swimming. I also am using a pre-swim treatment, so feel I’m on the right path. Can highly recommend this hair care product, and will be ordering it again.

Double review time--> *A) I like it -- *B) My husband hates it - why I give it three stars
First, I got this for my husband, as I'm in what seems to be a forever search to find him a shampoo with a real kick and bite of tea tree/peppermint in his shampoo. Alas, to date, the only thing I've found is not "quite" green enough for me (unless you count that pretty green bottle it comes in) so I tried this one. (MAKE NOTE* The Holistic in the name, and all the other stuff is plainly BS-hype, as this is just as mainstream on non-holistic, as anything out there.) My husband HATED it. First, there's really no minty/tea tree tingle AT ALL. Yes, it has some (light) scent in the shampoo and conditioner (conditioner smells nicer, albeit more "mainstream" in my opinion, but both are weak) and the shampoo (he did not try the conditioner) left his hair and scalp dry and itchy. He actually disliked it so much he would not use it again. Usually, he will say, "Oh, I don't like it that much, but whatever, I'll use it up..." but not this time. ONE STAR! From him. Now, as for me - 3 stars, and a one star from husband as a preface. So there you go. Caveat emptor. As for me, I started out with an idea I would give it 2 stars. The part about trying to pass it off as "holistic" is big turn off for me, but hey, that's business and, well, caveat emptor. No false CLAIMS from them, only misleading words. Now-There's definitely no minty tingle, as I mentioned above and, well, I was kinda looking forward to that little bite as well, so---bummer. The shampoo does have an"organic-like" smell which is reminiscent of "the real thing" more so than a typical mainstream peppermint candy type smell, but not all that great especially if you're not getting the 'bite' of mint on your skin. But, there it is, on the shelf and I find myself using it up. I find it okay, acceptable but a little mundane--------------------but the longer I use it, the more my hair really likes it. After the first few shampoos, which really weren't good or bad, just average, my hair started getting easier to manage, thicker "feeling" while still maintaining a shine. (I find, very often, that when I use a thickening type shampoo, if it does work at all, it seems to coat my hair with something that reduces the natural shine...that's just me)I had no scalp or itchy problems. It's not the greatest stuff I've ever used, but I definitely would not turn it down, either. I like it, but it's definitely too pricey for what it is. Bottom line: My hair and scalp really like it, and I would repurchase it if the 'advertising' came through but it's just another one on the shelf that, sure, its good, but for that price I'd expect something TRULY holistic and more clean/organic. Might repurchase, might not.

Great product!
So, I buy peppermint essential oil products because I have a condition called Chronic Daily Migraine Syndrome that causes extreme migraines of which makes my head swell and literally sweat. Migraine therapists instructed me to use 100% peppermint oil to help cool as well as offer pain relief. I tried adding peppermint oil to my shampoo and conditioners, but it just seemed like it was more work because it would separate from the shampoo or the conditioner causing over cooling to my head and body. About 2 years ago I started ordering different shampoos and conditioners that claimed to have 100% peppermint oil. I have literally bought every single kind on the market in and out of the country...I’ve tried them all, so this review is very straight forward. I need to also clarify that I have very thin hair that ends up damaging faster than normal trying to style it, so I also have to use hair masks. The majority of the products claiming to have peppermint in them are bogus...they either have a faint smell or no smell at all, and if I’m paying for peppermint, I want the smell as well of which helps with pain management. I also either found that they either stripped all of the oils from your hair or over oiled your hair leaving it greasy just like happens when I tried to add it myself to current shampoos and conditioners. I also expect there to be cooling or tingling sensation happening to the skin or it’s not real peppermint. Here is the list of the products I actually do like that don’t strip my hair or make it greasy, that actually smells like peppermint, and that actually gives that cooling or tingly sensation: 1. Maple Holistics Winter is fantastic but my only negative is the size. They are more like a larger travel size, of which works when I travel, but runs out for daily use. It smells fantastic, but not just peppermint is in it...there are other mint oils in it as well. I highly recommend if you don’t wash daily or want a great peppermint travel shampoo and conditioner. 2. Botanic Hearth Peppermint Shampoo and Conditioner. This brand is only using peppermint oil with no other mint flavors added. They are larger pump bottles and I keep them in my shower because they meet daily needs. 3. Sunflower Mega Care Peppermint Oil Premium Hair Mask. Man...this stuff is fantastic for once a week deep conditioning. I tend to not use but half a package at a time though because my hair is so thin. I don’t normally do many reviews, but I really like this product just wished it was bigger bottles. I wanted to include the other products I love because I know I’m not the only person out there dealing with pain management and wanting good products that work. I hope this helps someone.

Amazing!!!! Cured My hair issues! Natural Magick In two bottles:D
It was just delivered. I just got out of shower and my hair loved it thanks it and blown away by this product. Let me decribe my issue my hair is thinning in front and I’ve been suffering from dandruff and sores throughout head. It’s been a nightmare so I decided to find all natural shampoo and conditioner that will help without all the bad chemicals. I color dye my hair with punky colour semi hair dye. Have been for years. That’s all natural no problem there color lasts for months in my hair. The problem is the genetics on my moms side there’s a bunch of balding men. Mine not as bad as older brother who is year older he barely has any hair . I’m 28 years old with ton of hair just thinning in front. So I wanted natural product to help with my issues and slow thinning process down. I think my out cry’s have been answered:D The shampoo smell is awesome if you like white sage smell which as a witch I do. I burn white sage for meditating. The shampoo tingles a bit then if you do as bottle tells rinse and repeat it tingles even more. It’s fantastic! The conditioner is the best I’ve ever used. The cooling sensation is out of body amazing. I just stood there is sure bliss for over ten minutes. Once done the tingle and cooling sensations still linger. My hair feels spectacular and soooooo clean and all the itching pain is gone. I found my only shampoo and conditioner that I’ve been searching for. Anyone who says this stuff doesn’t do exactly as company/ bottles guarantees is a freaking liar 🤥 I recommend to anyone with bad dandruff, itching, thinning, head sores or who want really natural clean hair and conditioner that will blow you away with head sensations <3 I only speak truth and only review when product deserves recognition and praise for outstanding products!!! -Joshua
