They work for me!
I started taking 3 capsules a day of DR'S BEST Bromelain 500 capsules, on a EMPTY STOMACH due to a lot of (arthritis) hip pain. I am pleased to tell you THEY WORK! I've been without any capsules for several days and my hip is screaming at me for more. Now, they did not remove all pain, but, there's a huge difference in pain level when taking the Bromelain, and when not. Kinda like a level 2-3 versus a 10. Try it and experiment with it like I did. I started with 3 a day for most of the 30 day supply, then 2 a day, then none. I've gone three days with none. My hip is telling me to buy more! I'm ordering my second bottle today. One aside....I previously was taking over 1,000 mg's of MSM a day for joint pain, and it did not help at all. Was expensive, too. I realize MSM helps some, but, did not relieve my joint pain....SO Thank you, DR'S BEST!

Proven for joint pain and digestive issues for me
When I first started taking this supplement 4 years ago, it was for joint pain that was not responding to shots- cortisone if I remember correctly. This supplement definitely helped and surprisingly took care of some digestive problems as well. Needless to say, I was sold, but recently tried a less expensive brand with similar dosage. Within a few weeks I had joint pain showing up in multiple locations. So I am switching back now to this supplement which I will probably stick with forever, as long as they don’t change the formula.

Digestyes
Cannot take on empty stomach, tears it up. When taken with food does seem to help digestion which was a bit ironic to find out. No for arthritis pain, I am not seeing a difference. The capsules are a little hard to slide down at times and gets stuck but a bit easier that other supplements I have used. No taste as far as I can tell. I am giving it more time to see if benefits get better but for now it’s just Meh. I gave 4 stars for the seller getting it on time, overall product is 3.

The most helpful therapy for my tennis elbow (tendonitis)
I got a touch of "autoharper's elbow" (aka tennis elbow)—too much rapid-fire chording, and my lateral epicondyle began to complain. So I stopped 'harping for a while...massaged my muscles and tendons with "The Stick" (a flexible massage roller stick)...got a FlexBar and started doing sets of 15 Tyler Twists several times a day...stuck on cold packs several times daily...got a tennis elbow splint (and then realized I shouldn't use it much, as it doesn't promote healing)...got elastic exercise bands to strengthen my finger extensors...got a elbow compression sleeve and wore it faithfully...tried various anti-inflammatory creams...even bought a cubital tunnel elbow splint, in order to keep the tendons in neutral position while I slept. Finally, I called my pharmacy research group and asked them what they'd recommend. What I'd been trying was on the mark, but they suggested I add one more thing: enzyme therapy, either Wobenzym or bromelain, one capsule three times daily on an empty stomach. Apparently this is something sports medicine practioners use to speed healing of injured tendons. So I started using this product...and that's when my symptoms finally began to significantly abate. Now, that might've been coincidence; but I took the bottle with me to Seattle Autoharp Week...and when my 'harping pals complained that their tendons were bothering them too, I had them try it—and they reported improvement as well. So, while I know that the exercises are most important to help me develop the strength to prevent any re-injury, now I also know what to reach for when I've over-stressed a tendon: bromelain! Note: I was avoiding using NSAIDs (like Motrin) for the most part—while they can be helpful in reducing pain and tendon swelling, they can also interfere with long term healing. My pain was not very severe, so I just used it as an indicator to tell me when I was doing something wrong. Remember that you should NEVER "push through" the pain with tendonitis; that just causes more injury. See a doctor as soon as possible for a correct diagnosis, as there are other syndromes that mimic tennis elbow but aren't quite the same, and that require different therapies to treat them....but if they confirm you have tendonitis, give enzyme therapy a try!

Supposedly Helps Tendon Recovery
So, I've had rotator cuff surgery three times, in addition to tearing both of my biceps. Without question, sports injuries prompted all of that. Many years of volleyball takes its toll. First off, let me say that I'm not a doctor or a scientist but in trying to find ways to help strengthen and regenerate my tendons, I ran across an article that said bromelain and papaya enzymes are active and contribute to the elongation of tendrils, which, apparently, is one of the keys in helping to rebuild and strengthen the tendons. Sold. Now, this is the fifth time that I've ordered this supplement, in addition to papaya (papain) enzymes. Does it help reduce inflammation? Does it help with rebuilding tendons? I don't know but what I do know is that it was an is worth a try, because I want to continue playing volleyball. I take the supplements, I use KT tape for my shoulder and, as I knock on wood, I haven't torn anything in two years. As far as inflammation goes, I don't know about that either. I mean, I'm still sore after playing but I don't know if it would be worse if I didn't take the supplements and truthfully, I don't want to stop taking them to see. The pills are average sized for supplements and the flavor is tasteless, because they're in capsule form and I swallow them with all of the rest of what I take.

Green tea is extremely high in quercetin so it's better to buy bromelain without quercetin
Because nattokinase, serrapeptase, and bromelain don't have any negative side effects for most people, I recommend a very potent dose of all 3 during the first two to four months. Later on, you can drop down to a lower, maintenance dose. Bromelain has more positive research written about it than papain. Nattokinase has more positive research written about it than serrapeptase and bromelain combined. If you can afford only 1 of the 3, then go with nattokinase. Nattokinase is the most certain to fight blood clots and improve circulation. Nattokinase has only positive things written about it. However, there is one negative scientific study on serrapeptase. Serrapeptase was not significantly more effective than placebo in a Japanese study so the Japanese manufacturer of "Dasen" (serrapeptase), Takeda, has pulled this, their profitable brand name drug, off the market. However, thousands of people will testify that serrapeptase has helped them substantially and that they continue to buy it. Bromelain has been used for many years in Germany after surgery with a small but definite benefit. Speaking of surgery, 25% of hip fracture victims die within 12 months after surgery. Many other surgeries have almost as high post-surgery death rates. The most common causes of post-surgery death are blood clots, pneumonia, and infection. Nattokinase, which has no negative side effects, can definitely be used in place of aspirin, Lovenox, or other prescription blood thinners. Serrapeptase has been described as "the most powerful" of the 3. To prevent infection and pneumonia, boost your immune system by drinking olive leaf tea, eating shiitake mushrooms, and swallowing at least 2000 IU of vitamin D daily. Vaccinate to help prevent pneumonia before the surgery. To help nattokinase improve your blood circulation, swallow 1000mg to 1200mg of krill oil daily to boost your HDL (good) cholesterol and clean up your clogged arteries. Half of all heart disease victims have a calcified aorta. To reverse a calcified aorta (to remove the calcium), you will need to eat vitamin K2 MK-7 and vitamin K2 MK-8 from the Japanese fermented soybean food called, "natto." One small 3.5oz package of natto contains 1000mcg of MK-7 and almost 100mcg of MK-8. People with type O blood have the least problems with blood clots because their blood is thinnest. People with type B blood (myself included) have the 2nd thinnest blood. People with type A blood and people with type AB blood have the thickest blood and are most likely to benefit from nattokinase, serrapeptase, and/or bromelain. Indeed, people with blood types A and AB have been known to get blood clots in their legs just for sitting several hours during an airplane flight.
