Schutt Baseball Batting Tee

As a coach of a 16U team, I need multiple tees to work hitting stations during practices. The newer styled ones may have cheaper replacement cups, but you’re just pre-paying for them with the cost of the whole unit ($90). These hard rubber tees from Schmitt, on the other hand, are cheap and reliable. They break down after practices just as easily, if you hold the shaft and spin the base to loosen the screw. The hardware is made from high grade materials and the heights adjust very easily without collapsing.

Purchased this for my 6 yd old daughter, who had never swung a bat. After 3 weeks of steady hitting, She became the best hitter on her 6-7-8 yr old team, batted 3rd in the line-up, was selected as an All Star and was the only 6 yr old to make the team.Her fielding was HORRIBLE, but her hitting was GRADE A. This product is easy to set up and very durable with a bat hitting the rubber neck.My 6 yr old daughter takes it to the back yard, sets the neck waist high (by herself) and goes after it.

This tee has been serving its purpose well. My son has been hitting off a tee since he was 2 years old and he out grew his Little Tikes plastic tee by the time he was 3, so I purchased him a metal bat and this tee. I have had it for over a year now and it is still standing strong. Was very easy to assemble and has withstood many whacks with a bat. My only complaint abut it is when it is raised to the height for an adult, the weight of a baseball makes it tilt to one side. I guess for the price, I should not be expecting the world of it though. Overall a nice tee for young kids. I will likely upgrade to something better when my son gets a little older and into more serious play.

I received this tee about a week or so ago. This review will be updated after the summer, after i've had a chance to really abuse it. (about 10 hours heavy use right now)I'm an adult male with average bat speed. I purchased this tee to use in my redneck batting cage because i'm a terrible hitter. I play in adult slow pitch softball. I imagine later in life my kids will use it.Pros:-Heavy, hard plastic base and lower rod. These aren't pieces that will necessarily get abused, but they're thick and hard.-Heavy rubber upper rod. The rubber gives a little, so after you hit it a few times it will bend slightly in the direction you hit. No problem though--it doesn't bend far enough that the balls fall off because of the tilt. The heavy rubber looks like it will last a long time.-Easy to raise and lower the upper portion. It just slides up and down. Friction keeps it from falling to the bottom.-Heavy base means it doesn't tip every time you hit the tee. I admitted i suck at hitting, so i do hit the tee with some regularity.-The tee raises to about my hip and lowers to my knee--perfect strike zone. I'm 5'10" for reference.-The tee will hold anything from a tennis ball to a softball.-Tool-less construction. One large bolt holds the plate to the lower plastic support. The plate contains a bolt shaped cutout, so you just split the bolt in and screw the plastic support in by hand. That means if you needed to carry it around, it would super easy to disassemble and re-assemble. Less than 45 seconds and it's up.Cons-Nitpicking a little, but because the upper rubber portion slides in, it will work its way up as you hit it. The more you hit the tee itself, the more it works itself up. So eventually it will flop out when you hit it. No big deal, just slip it back in.-Supposedly you can buy a replacement for the top section if you break it. I can't verify that--it doesn't show up on Amazon or on Schutt's from what i can find. But honestly the tee looks so durable that if you needed a replacement 5 years from now they might not carry the same models.Month 1 EDIT: Over a month of heavy use from myself and other adult players and the tee shows no sign of wear. The upper rod has taken a beating, but you can't tell. Still very happy with this purchase.EDIT: 3/7/14 - used the tee all summer last year, and it still shows very little signs of use. Now that the weather is warming up again i'll start using it again. But it got about 3-4 months of solid use last year from mainly myself but also a few others. It took several hundred, if not a thousand hits from aluminum bats. Very durable tee and i don't regret purchasing it at all.

This seems like a solid tee with a nice ability to adjust the height. Purchased for a four-year-old so I can't say whether it will stand up to more of a battering from a bigger child but it suits our purposes nicely.

My son is four. He has knocked the tee down several times in the 3 days we have practiced. The standing post is beginning to warp. I twist the post so it’s not always falling the same way each time,to no prevail it’s still bent.Look for something else.

Really easy to assemble but the piece that holds the ball slides down pretty easy on its own. It also develops a lean over time... I guess that can be expected.

No issues here. My 4 year old loves it. Should last long enough for my 9 month old to get some use out of it when he's ready..

Bought for my 3 yr old. Solid and durable. He has been using a toy one for half his life, and it was getting destroyed even with toy bats. Now he can use a real bat and this tee holds all sizes of balls so he can practice on oversized balls to increase his confidence. It looks like this will last him until he is a teen.

This is a hit at our house. It is definetly sturdy. My 3 and 7 yr old are rough and tough and this thing sure stands up. The height adjustment is perfect for each kid.Definetly recommend for a grets outdoor toy built to last

Works great. Heavy enough to stay upright after hitting the ball or hitting the tee, yet light enough a child can carry. Easy set up. Height adjustment range is excellent. Overall great product
