Excellent product! Far better than the other, similarly priced, line spoolers that are available on the market. I've had other over the years that were not easy to use and eventually broke due to the flimsy plastic part. But this Gonex Line Spooler is light weight yet sturdy, very easy to use, and comes in a very well packaged and appropriately cushioned box. It also arrived nearly a week ahead of the estimated delivery date. THANK YOU!!

Used this to spool several reels of mine and it worked like a charm. Bonus is that it is nice and compact and can be stored easily for the next time I use it. Easy to set up and use.

Makes spooling line easy. Good quality.

It does the trick. However, in my opinion, it could use some improvements. My first spool was onto a 200 series bait caster. It worked well until I needed to remove some line because it wasn’t spoiling even (not likely this devices fault). The handle’s knobs kept falling off while I rewound the line. I tightened them down a few times. The second spooling was onto my 8000 series spinning reel. In my opinion, the reel and spindle are simply too close for the larger spinning reel. In both cases, I found it very difficult to hold the line in order to put tension it while spoiling. I think that a little extra distance between the reel and line would help. I’d also consider one guide to help control the line. The handle could be a little longer as well. Even with these comments, the device works slick and isn’t junk. My issues might be self inflicted because I prefer to hold the line with a wet cloth while spoiling.

Winds monofilament fine (4 - 10 lb so far). While removing old mono on a spinning reel, the two small knobs unscrewed themselves on me while cranking with my left hand!! First few times I cranked it right handed and I had no issues and all was good.Super braids is where the issues really are noticeable!! Some of these filler spools are too narrow and you can’t get enough tension on the line!! I used a wood working adjustable squeeze clamp to get enough tension putting on 50 lb braid on a large 8000 sized saltwater spinning reel. The ergonomics are poor: it’s made to fit in a cool well made box NOT to be cranked on where everything is strained and overheats where the metal arms meet the rubbery tension cups spin under pressure!! If you don’t lay the braid on that tight you will have issues with line cutting into itself and causing problems when you are fighting larger saltwater fish over 25 lbs!! Personally it is best to bring your spinning reel spools to an outdoor store/pro shop that knows what it is doing with mono underwear or Dacron to fill up some volume before the super braid on top. Not all spools are braid friendly. Needless to say, the handle is too short and difficult to hold for this task! I ended up putting large rubber butt cap over the end so it dig into my body. I end up holding much higher up near the metal clamping area instead. Time is money.Be aware of your filler pack or bulk spools to use on this. 1/4 lb spools of mono were fine.Skinny super braid spools are annoying and you have to squeeze it more for higher tensions!! Bolting the line removing handle on will also help getting extra tension, too, but it wasting made for that intention.Not used it for conventional reels yet but those work fine pulling the super braid through some leather or leather gloves with braid weaved between few fingers for extra tension.Glad I didn’t pay full price! Sorry, engineering needs some work. IMHO, YMMV.

Great would or order it again

I should have reviewed the feedback for this product. The plastic clutch button broke after two uses, as a lot of other reviewers have said. I would have given it 2-3 stars if that was the only problem as the clutch could still be released with a small flat-head screwdriver. But it doesn't hold the spool securely and repeatedly falls out of the holding pins when reeling the line in. And the whole setup is connected by two pieces with friction, with the reel attaching to one piece and the spool to the other. No matter how tight I connect the two together, they come apart as I wind the reel. I'm a few days out of the return window so it will go in the trash. Don't make the same mistake as me!

Works very easy to use

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ein Angelschnur-Aufspulgerät so viel Arbeit ersparen kann. Das Gonex Aufspulgerät hat mir das Bespulen meiner Rollen deutlich erleichtert. Früher hatte ich oft Probleme mit verdrallter Schnur oder musste mir jemanden zur Hilfe holen, jetzt erledige ich das ganz entspannt allein in wenigen Minuten.Der Aufbau war unkompliziert und das Gerät hält die Schnurspule sicher fest. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass sich die Spannung gut kontrollieren lässt, sodass die Schnur gleichmäßig und straff auf die Rolle kommt. Das Ergebnis sieht deutlich sauberer aus als beim manuellen Aufspulen.Die Verarbeitung macht einen soliden Eindruck und das Gerät lässt sich leicht verstauen und transportieren. Für den Preis bekommt man meiner Meinung nach ein wirklich praktisches Werkzeug, das jedem Angler das Leben einfacher macht.Ich nutze es inzwischen bei jeder neuen Schnur und möchte es nicht mehr missen. Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die ihre Rollen sauber und ohne Frust bespulen möchten! 🎣
