Great powder for emergencies when you accidentally cut their nails too short !

This is one of those items that is better to have and not need it than to need it and not have it. Unfortunately, I was trimming my dogs nails and got the quick on one nail. This is so effective at stopping the bleeding. Glad I had it on hand!

Bought this to have on hand for our animals and when one of my pups tore their toenail, this came in quite handy, as they tend to bleed alot. This took care of the issue. A little messy trying to apply it, but to be expected since a powdery product. Just nice to have in case you ever need it in a hurry.

I first noticed that the bottle was not white... it is clear, and the product looked dark and clumpy. I opened it up, and the smell was horrible. I took a knife and tried to see if the clumps would loosen up, but they didn't. It looked like clumping cat litter. It is damp and not like a powder at all. Be aware that you can not return. Do not buy. I will look for something else. The smell is nasty. Disappointed.

As many of us know, grooming your animals can be a bit of a chore. I have two big dogs in which one will kind of sit to get his nails done and the other who absolutely hates it. Being that he dislikes it so much makes if difficult to get the trimming done. And sometimes accidents happen. Never intentional, but sometimes they just jerk their paw right when you go to clip. In the event that you accidentally cut into their quick, the bleeding just never seems to stop. It can be scary and painful. This styptic powder has been great to have on hand. It works quickly and effectively. All you have to do is simply slide the affected area in and the bleeding comes to a halt. It gives you a piece of mind when relieving their pain as well. No one wants to hurt their pet, but accidents do happen. I would rather be prepared and have this instead of my dog experiencing prolonged suffering. This is a great product to have if you groom your own dogs.
