Meliora Cleaning Products Laundry Powder Detergent (128 HE Loads), Lemon

Before I get to the rest of my review, I want to put this here for anyone who might have the same issue. My front loading washer smells. Ive done everything I should and when I switched to Meliora, I have noticed SUCH a reduction in smell. My thought was perhaps, just as the overuse of regular laundry detergent can feed bacteria in clothing, maybe it's the cause in the washer too. This has ingredients that both neutralize and clean and some of them are things you might actually use to clean those gunked up components of a washer.Moving on, I picked Meliora because it was one of the very few truly zero waste detergents. Many are powder and natural, but in bags or pods. Which still contribute to plastic. And I've love my experience so far. It smells great and seems as clean as any other detergent.The lovely smell doesn't seem to stay after being dried so I do wish they had a version of laundry "softener" or dryer sheets, but I've ordered some from another zero waste company to help on that side. It feels really great to be able to make a more environmentally friendly choice and have an awesome product too.*ps in relation to the washer, the smell actually comes from when the water drains into the standpipe in my case. So if you can't figure out why you've cleaned your drum and door gasket and it still smells, this could be a culprit

I truly love this product! Its safe and environmentally friendly. Our skin loves the product. It definitely cleans all my laundry very well. I use this product with white vinegar and it works well together. My clothes are soft after the wash and dry. I love the Lavender and Lemon scent (both favorites). Just wish the scents would last after my laundry is dried. The only negative I have is that I need to use more than the recommended usage of laundry powder for my laundry when washing unfortunately. I followed the usage instructions and I was disappointed to see that it wasn't enough to clean my laundry. My washer is HE and I use the powder in the tumbler with the laundry and not the dispenser. I do not use the laundry powder in the dispenser as it does not wash into the laundry. Instead it remains in the dispenser. This is not a big deal for me because Im fine using it combined with the laundry. I tend to go through one container per week. We are a family of 5 (two adults and three children) and laundry duty is daily here between sheets, blankets, towels and clothes. I always have large to extra large loads of laundry. Im going to keep the 5 stars because the product is everything we hoped for and I strongly recommend it for other families that are health conscious and want to use clean products. Realistically speaking, If you are a penny pincher, this may not be the product for you. It is pricey when you are using one container per week. In my case, the positive outweighs the negative. Hope this helps those contemplating on buying this product.

The only thing I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish it had a little bit more scent to it but I just added my own lavender oil to give a stronger scent.

I bought this soap ages ago and hadn't ever used anything like it before. I have to say it has amazed me at how well it works for the price. Just one tiny scoop of this powdered soap cleans an entire load of laundry and leaves it smelling amazing. I used to spend way too much on liquid soaps before I found out about this company and now all I have to do is buy one of these every few months. I think that this product is worth buying for anyone as it's affordable, amazing, and cleaner for the environment than liquid detergents are!

My partner and I have been using this since we ordered it and absolutely love it. It is a perfect alternative to those "Eco-Friendly" dryer sheets that still use PVA in their recipe.Zero plastic, simple ingredients, and for most light to medium stains it does the job well. Heavy stains will require something with more "oomph" or a good pre-treatment before washing.Some folks may be put off by the size of the packaging because it is TINY compared to other solid detergents, but it is dense. There is more detergent here than one might think. And we personally love the small container as it fits pretty much anywhere in our closet without taking up an absurd amount of space.

We love this stuff!! I love that it comes packaged the way that it does so I don’t have to worry about plastic seeping into it! We switched to powder while on our toxin free journey and this stuff gets EVERYTHING out. Baby poop, blood, grease, you name it. It’s the only soap we will use for our stuff.

Could not figure out what I was doing wrong. I measured it correctly, added white vinegar, and my clothing does not smell clean and it will feel stiff and crunchy after washing. My towels smelled mildewy and left a tacky film on the skin after a shower.Turns out we have hard water and this stuff doesn’t not work well with hard water.So if you notice any limescale on your faucets or shower head, you have hard water and should avoid using this product. Wish it advised as such before I bought it. The product itself smells nice but the clothing never smells that way.
