The good reviews are right
I bought this vacuum primarily for vacuuming dead algae. It had a discount price for "Prime Days." I am completely satisfied. It is well thought-out and well designed, avoiding all of the annoying features of a previous hand-held vac that I used. It seems "built to last," the owner's manual is helpful, and it makes the job "almost enjoyable." I have a 16' x32' pool that a previous owner set in with no adequate filtration system. So it's a challenging environment for this vacuum which has proved that it's not a toy or "just for spas or kiddie pools" yet comes at a reasonable price.UPDATE: The battery life has always been much better than promised (two hours, not one) but after daily use during the warm weather the unit would sometimes fail to charge completely. Now, however, in the much colder weather I'm still swimming daily (in a wetsuit) & the unit is operating more strongly than ever. The suction is strong & the unit consistently takes a full charge. Water temp is in the low 50's. The cold has given the unit new life!Further update: to avoid the problem of having the battery not take a full charge, the manufacturer says to not fully deplete the battery when you use it. With all due respect, I don't think that's the problem since I've had the battery fail to take a full charge under both circumstances. The "fix" that works is to plug the unit in to recharge IMMEDIATELY after you shut it off. Don't leave it lying around somewhere for ANY length of time. I've been following this plan consistently now and have had zero battery issues. Battery charge is still good for 90 - 100 minutes in 43 degree water temp.

Only half the price of my last pool vacuum, but it does TWICE the work!
This is my THIRD pool vacuum. Since they all seem to last about a year, I thought I'd go cheaper this time. SOOOO glad I did!! It out-performs last year's expensive blaster, which died the day after its warranty. After a small problem with the filter basket - which the seller fixed so fast I didn't have time to blink - I am LOVING this little workhorse! Most pool vacuums claim to run for forty to sixty minutes. This one says it'll run up to sixty. In my experience, they usually run under forty. My neighbour is fixing his roof. Every tiny bit of roofing material has blown into my pool. I just finished an hour and fifteen minutes of vacuuming! Got ALL that stuff up from the bottom of my pool! I wish I had had my phone with me to show you all the YUCK that I cleaned up with this little machine today, but it overheats when I leave it on the pool deck.It takes **FOREVER** to charge, but it lasts and lasts and lasts! It picks up everything except the really BIG leaves, and it doesn't like pine needles much, but it gets the job done. I usually go in the pool with it, so I can pull the pine needles out before it sucks them all the way up, leaving more room for everything else. Not that it lacks internal space, but it IS a vacuum and, just like the one in my living room, when the thing is full the suction is less. Fortunately, I was able to have a spigot installed right by the pool that I can reach while in my pool, and cleaning this is as easy as 1-2-3!It can even be fun to use. Don't tell my neighbour - I want him to think I slaved away all day - but in my little 48" x 18' round above ground, I can slap on a mask and snorkel and swim and vacuum at the same time!Cleans sand, leaves, and roofing crud. Easy to clean the large-capacity filter. Simple to put together - and I suggest you assemble the filter under water because it IS large and can hold a zillion air bubbles which get in the way of seeing what you're doing.Does it all for half the price of some of the others!

Decent, but not great
I wanted to make sure I used this one a bit before writing a review. It's decent, not great. The suction is not strong enough for my 5 star rating. A few dislikes but at the top of the list is the ridiculously small filter that fills up way too fast with leaves. The filter also has a needlessly difficult to open design, so the fast fill-up frustration is exacerbated by the hard to empty filter design. If you really need something low end and cheap, I might recommend this one but if you're a real friend I might tell you to spend a bit more and get a nice unit.

Suction is great!
This vacuum is great! I love it and it does a fantastic job! The battery last for a long time and that is so useful because I have a 33 round pool.

The little vacuum that could
This little vacuum exceeded my expectations. We had a bunch of storms to hit our area. Our 15ft round pool was filled with a lot of debris from surrounding trees. This vacuum cleaned up the bottom of the pool with ease. I'm thinking it might have more suction than our hose filter set up. Super easy to clean out the vacuums container. It sucks up both large and small debris with ease. Assembly and changing was super easy. The vacuum floats and does connect to leaf net pole. After cleaning up a lot of junk from the bottom of the pool and the steps of our ladder bridge, as well as behind the steps, still had the blue LED showing ample power reserve. Follow the instructions and do your first charge of the battery for ~7 hours. The post cleaning charge only took ~3 or 4 hours. When you first put the vacuum in the pool, insure you let all the air out, and then turn on the yellow power switch with the unit under water. The only minor issue I encountered was once I finished cleaning the pool and the vacuums container was loaded with debris, I was trying to connect our leaf pole to the vacuum, and in doing so kind of raise the suction end of the vacuum and some small debris leak out.The check value flap was not meant to operate properly in that orientation. My bad!Reason for buying this vacuum, our filter is of the cartridge type with pleats. As efficient as it cartridge filters are, they are very time consuming and a pain to clean. This vacuum captures all the debris and is super easy to use and clean. Saves me time, which I can now spend enjoying the pool. I highly recommend this little vacuum to anyone.
