I bought this copper lug assortment to go along with my new iCrimp tool, and it’s been perfect for maintaining the batteries on my Corolla and Galant. The quality of the copper is excellent it’s thick enough for a solid crimp but malleable enough to get a perfect connection every time. The range of sizes from 12 AWG to 2 AWG covers almost every wire in my cars and my workshop. The included heat shrink is a great addition; it shrinks tight and seals the connection perfectly. If you are doing any kind of heavy-duty wiring or battery maintenance, having this set on hand will save you multiple trips to the hardware store.

I bought this set of lugs for use on smaller size wires (8 to 12 AWG) and it is more than adequate for that purpose. Although the set comes with lugs for 2 and 4AWG wires, I would not use them as the thickness of the lug does not appear large enough to support the current of those size wires (the 6AWG lugs are borderline, but I wouldn’t use them in sustained high current situations to be on the safe side). The thickness of the 2 and 4AWG lug (where it connects to the battery) is 1.25mm (or around 0.05 inch). For comparison, I have other copper 2AWG lugs where the thickness is 1.65mm (or 0.065 inches), and I also have marine grade 2AWG lugs where the thickness is 2.5mm (or 0.098 inches). The thickness of the tube portion of the lug is half these amounts. The heat shrinks it comes with are also noticeably thinner than other quality ones I have on hand. They’re probably 2:1 shrink ratio (I use both 2:1 and 3:1 heat shrinks). The old saying “you get what you pay for” comes into play here. Corners have to be cut to sell the item at the price consumers want to pay. I do recommend this set for wire sizes 8 to 12 AWG (you get 10 pieces of each size). If your needs involve the use of high current 6, 4 and 2AWG wires, I would purchase a more higher quality set for that.
