OSD Audio Weatherproof in-Ceiling Audio Speaker Pair - Indoor/Outdoor Stereo - ICE800WRS

I've purchased the OSD Audio in-ceiling speakers twice, once 5 years ago and again a few weeks ago, both used in outdoor patios. I was impressed the first time I bought them, both with the sound quality and durability. The most recent ones sound even better. These sound every bit as good, maybe better than similar speakers I've spent three times as much for. I honestly can't believe the wide range they cover. Decent highs, great mids and surprising bass response all comes through cleanly.

One of the grilles was dented badly upon receipt. Packaging was extremely poor, lacking sufficient support. I rolled the grille with a small plastic roller which improved its visual quality, though it's still dented. As for the quality of the speakers, they are extremely light weight, especially the magnet. I expected a more weighty device. Nonetheless, the sound quality is impressive. The mid range is a bit overly pronounced, but easily adjusted with an equalizer. We'll see how they stand up to the winter...

I paired these with an inexpensive amplifier and they are great. I am glad I went with the 8 inch speakers, as their bass response is much nicer sounding than I was expecting. The only 'negative' I have is that their mounting mechanism could use a bit of work. My ceiling here is not drywall, it's harder and thinner than drywall and the mounting mechanism does not seem to have been made with ceiling this thin in mind. They still work and are mounted up there, there is just a little bit more give than I think is expected.

1. They sound pretty good. 2. Installation was simple. 3. They look very good. I put these in a vaulted ceiling in a bathroom. I tested these before installing with them propped up in chairs and they sounded GREAT. After install, they didn't sound quite as good but still perform very well. I blame the room characteristics for drop in sound quality after install. They seem to have lost some of the high end and are a bit heavy in the mid's. I put a bucket over the back of each one to keep the blown in insulation out of the speakers and to see if it would somehow send the missing treble back in to the room and not in the attic. You would think that would make them produce more bass but whatever its doing it made a big difference.

I purchased these speakers because they were outdoor rated. I installed these under my porch. Sound quality is medium "Bose Quality" maybe one step up from Walmart. The speakers require more power for the sound output than I anticipated - not very efficient. Of course they were only $99.00 for a pair. For the money and being outdoor rated they are OK. Time will tell if they will continue to live outdoors with the humidity. Maybe higher quality speakers would not deal well with the humidity outdoors. Be careful with the installation - before installing in the ceiling run the mounting screws in then back out to the neutral position. The arm will jump out of the track and not seat against the ceiling. It you hear a pop the arm has jumped out of the track and will not seat.

This speaker is awesome. It sounds really good. I actually used it in my bathroom. It says weatherproof so I figured a little steam is equivalent. I used a blue tooth amp and wired it in the attic. Works awesome. Very good buy. Just make sure you realize the picture shows only 1 speaker but you get 2. I’m a picture person so I have a spare. Should have read the description I guess. But great product

The sound is not the best. But it was not very expensive, So it was a good buy for the price.

I installed these in my Patio, They have great sound output. I turned the volume up and there was no distortion. I bought two more pairs, one for the dinning room and one for my Boat. Yes, they are that good. I have speakers in my living room, and I am thinking I might replace them as well, but one project at a time. I looked at several other speakers, they all look to be about the same price but people were not satisfied with the sound output of them. These had higher reviews and some said the sound quality was good and now I see why, they sound great. They shipped them out quickly. Only complaint I would register is that the template they give us is easily torn (only one for the set) as mine did on the patio, so I used the face-plate grill, just unsnap it, trace the outline of it and it was the perfect size. The grill went back on without issues. Great value for the price.

I have been building a house and installed much more expensive speakers inside. Side by side they don't have the punch of the more expensive ones, but for the price they sound great particularly at the lower volumes that I use them for to avoid neighbour conflicts.
