Govee LED Floor Lamp, RGBIC Corner Lamp, Works with Alexa and Matter, Black

Govee have done it again. I've got a number of the LED strips from govee which all work great. I was looking for a minimalist floor lamp with smart features and came across this. It was really easy to put together and feels sturdy and strong. Pairing with the app was easy (like all Govee products i have). It's got loads of features from being able to chage the colour of the lights to having the lights animate like scrolling. The light is bright but can also be dimmed to given even more of a mood lighting effect. It's not cheap but I do think it's worth the money for the build quality and all the features it has.

You know from the moment you open the box that this Govee light is a quality product. I’ve seen a fair amount of negative feedback regarding how difficult it is to put together. Yes, you need patience - take your time, read the instructions and it’s very easy and once done, it looks absolutely stunning. Everything you need is included, even a suitable screwdriver (nice touch) Once assembled, connecting it to the Govee Home app is a challenge. I struggled for ages to connect it using the app on my iPad, without success. Once I tried it on my iPhone, it connected instantly! It’s a pfaff! You have to connect via Bluetooth, then connect via wi-fi. Why?? I have many, many other Smart strip lights and they can all be controlled by Smartlife (Tuya) I don’t get why I have to have yet another app. and mess about like this. Once connected in Govee Home app. linking it to my Alexa app was very simple and the light can then be controlled by Alexa. This includes, colour, brightness %age, and on/off. If you want more advanced capabilities, you have to use the Govee Home app. Subject to my comments on connecting to my Smart Home (which was frustrating, but not worth deducting a star) I thoroughly recommend this gorgeous light. I actually have 2 standing either side of my TV in the living room, pointing toward the wall, where they give a lovely colour wash to my white wall. They’re expensive, but when you see the quality, you understand why.

Great light. Easy to install - the app works great but selecting colour is more complicated than it has to be but given how much colour option there is maybe that’s to be expected. Very sturdy and the light is lovely. Works a a great backlight against a wall.

Before I start this review there are a few questions you need to ask yourself. Do you want to turn your lamp on via Google or Alexa? Do you want to turn your lamp on via the Goove app? Will you use the features it offers? I have had this lamp around five months now and believe I can give a reliable review. Upon purchasing the lamp I was after a smart lamp and something different, this fitted that bill perfectly. Putting the lamp together was easy (just don’t cut the rubber to short!) The lamp has a lot of colour changing features, very sleek look and not too big (other than the base). I must say after five months and the novelty of the fancy modes this lamp comes with wearing off, we only use this with a white light now. We do not use the dance modes or sound modes that it has, we do sometimes change the colour but not very often. The most useful feature is “Alexa lamp on”. I’d still definitely recommend this lamp if you are a gadget freak (like myself), if you just want a smart lamp there are cheaper alternatives out there.

These lights are fantastic. I purchased one a couple of years ago which I used in my bedroom, connected to Alexa and also with a routine set up, so it would turn on and off as I worked late nights. Because you can set colours, and not always block colours; it could give the impression of a screen behind closed curtains. I’ve just bought a second one for my son’s nursery. It’s dimmable and set to a low light, which is perfect for bedtimes whilst he has his last bottle after bath time and during wind-down time. It’s less stimulating. Also, because it is slim, it doesn’t take up too much room - great for a small space, because the brightness can be adjusted so it’s even better for small spaces! I face mine towards the back wall so the light doesn’t shone directly into the room. Works a treat. Would definitely recommend!

The quality is great. Brightness is amazing. Need to do some tweakings after building it to get it straight but relatively easy and sturdy

Absolutely love this item. Slightly costly but this is out weighed by the sheer number of light variations it can achieve when used with the app you can choose from one of literally hundreds of use are submitted scenes or create your own brightness can be adjusted they have fade and twinkle options and a scroll affect. You can time it to come on and go off so it’s not on all the time there is one drawback that is I’m disappointed it cannot be set to dawn and dusk times so I have to keep adjusting mind, so it’s not pointlessly on during the during the day.

Love this! Attractive looking, small enough to fit in the corner of a room and gives a good amount of light! I have this on a timer so it’s ok when I get home home work, turns off at 11pm so it’s never left on overnight! App works great and you need one in your house!

Beautiful touch

Although the overall build quality is more plastic than Hue lights, its decent enough not to feel too cheap. The quality of the light itself is good, and the overall function of the unit is good. The main issue I have with it is the Software, its not nearly as good as Philips Hue and that really hurts the experience.

Love this lamp, it’s sleek and very easy to set up & use. Linked to Google and also has a timer
