OccuNomix VCB200-15 Vulcan Cowboy Style Hard Hat with Ratchet Suspension, Tan

Love these cowboy styled work hats, always get compliments, and even had some of my co-workers purchase them.

Comfortable and a solid hat. Only problems are the adjusting sucks won’t move anymore and they sent me a tan hat in a clear bag that had a black label on it.

​Why compromise on style just because you need PPE? This hard hat lets me keep my look going 24/7 without missing a beat. Fits well and does exactly what it needs to do.

Even in USA it seems to be exotic, so in Russia it is EXOTIC. Took it to my 2-month shift in remote gold mine, and it caused a sensation here! So advantages: 1) Wide brims really protect from sun. And even better they protect from rain. In sunny weather it is rather hot in it, but in rainy - perfect. Face, neck, are all dry, and water from hat doesn't drop on back. If it is necessary to remove water from it - slightly lean the head, and it will flow down, but forward, not on feet. 2) It looks more massive, solid and strengthened comparing to my standart helmet. If I translated ANSI Z89. 1 Type 1, class E & G properly, it is more electric-resistant (20 000 V vs 1000 V of standart). Also wide brims can save from side shocks. 3) And of course it looks attracting, exotic and stylish! So if You want to be in the center of attention - take it. Though sometimes attention can be not the way You like as it is 100% American spirited, and not everyone likes it. And about drawbacks: 1) It doesn't have chin belt to fix it, and no place to what it is possible to attach. 2) Joint between suspension and hat is not too strong. So if You will shake head intensively, or will have strong headwind - it can unjoin from suspension. I guess, if it will have chin belt - in these cases hat will fly away and You'll stay in suspension only. 3) I ordered several hats, and one didn't had suspension included, so I had to buy it additionally and wait. As I see on other reviews, sometimes it happen... 4) I was not allowed by my safety department to wear it in industry areas of my workplace, only in living areas. As it is not certificated in Russia and doesn't have chin fixing belt... Honestly, for me it was not too bad as I didn't plan to crack it or make it dirty, standart helmet is for this. But beware, not every employer will allow to use it as standart helmet.

Should have listened to other reviews. The product came as described EXCEPT it was broken on arrival. The ratchet for the suspension does NOT work and the helmet/shell itself was a bit small, so large heads beware. Not worth it! The hat has no vents, so if you work in heat this might be a dealbreaker. Instead of purchasing new suspension, I will be returning it.

It fits snug and was easy to assemble and about the same weight as most hard hats with a beautiful style

So it’s very tall, like funny tall, 10 gallon for sure, and it’s a bit tight width wise, the webbing connectors on the sides really push into the side of my head, but I like that the webbing itself is even adjustable. Material feels a bit lighter weight than some safety guys will let fly on a job site I think.

El casco es muy bonito y con buenos acabados. El problema es la tienda, que te cobra portes y aun así no cumple los plazos. Presente una reclamación y me dijeron que nos devolvían el dinero correspondiente al porte urgente. Dicha devolución debe estar tramitándose aun...
