Cheap, Boomy, Decent
This device can only play/change a 1st gen 30-pin apple device. As a result, you can buy these things pretty dirt cheap these days. We picked this up, knowing full well that we'd either use the 30-pin dock for sound only (and no charging), or use the auxiliary in for sound input, and a separate cable for charging.I was able to get a single 30-pin adapter that lets you power the device using mini-USB, and it gives you a direct audio out from the 30-pin...which is the best that we can do. (It's even before the volume control pots, so it's the best sounding analog we can get out of the device.) This lets us play and charge at the same time. The apple devices cannot sit in the dock, however. We tolerate this, because for us...the cheap price of the device (due to it's outdated 30-pin doc) is worth the extra cables. (And the extra cables are worth the charging/audio.)As far as sound goes... I'm a picky audiophile snob. So anytime you have tiny speakers, you can't get a full sound. Period. There isn't enough (air) displacement to expect otherwise. People want to compare this to the Bose. I don't have too much experience with that make/model, but in general--Bose tries to use clever EQing to use psychoacoustics to give some people the impression that it sounds better than it actually does. (As such, I'm not a big fan of that company. The actual components are generally pretty cheap, but their marketing and psychoacoustics are pretty good for casual listeners that don't know what to listen for.) So with that said, this model sound decent for what it is. My wife would rather it be closer to the wall, which makes it sound boomy-ish. (As most any speaker system would.) This annoys me. I would rather pull it away from the wall, so it sounds a bit more full and natural---and this placement annoys her. So we'll see how this works out.For what we paid (around sixty bucks off of amazon), it's a good enough deal. It plays loud much more gracefully than I would expect. The remote control is essentially useless, but we don't care. It can't play/charge modern apple devices, but we knew this going into it and found a good-enough solution. My wife likes it, and my snobbiness can tolerate the quality for price and size compromise. If the deal ever came up again, I would consider buying another for the master bathroom.

All this sound for $100?!??
I happened upon this system when I was getting ready to drop quite a bit of money on a Bose system. I read the reviews and started doing some research. I went to the Klipsch website. There, they sell refurb models for $100!! And that includes shipping!! I was a little apprehensive, as I don't usually buy audio equipment without hearing it. Considering the cost, though, I thought I'd give it a try.I received my system within 4-5 days of ordering it (not bad for the holiday season...not to mention free shipping). First thing I noted was the look of it; it's very sleek and modern (and goes very well with my black 80gb ipod). The only cosmetic issue (as the result of buying a refurb) was a slight scratch in the cradle that holds the ipod. That meant little to me, as it was covered anyway! The IGrooveHG is a simple plug-and-play system, and it even has a handle. Both of these characteristics make it quite a bit more portable than the Bose system.I'm not sure if I chose a bad song for it first off, but I wasn't initially impressed. I thought it sounded "okay", and I couldn't expect much for $100. But then, I switched to another song and actually used the EQ on my ipod (big "duh" on my part for not doing that in the first place). The initial disappointed flew out the window. This thing sounded UNBELIEVABLE!I played a Mozart piano sonata. It blew me away. Each and every note was crisp and clear. It sounded as though, truly, I was listening to my husband play it on our piano.I then ran through my catalog of music and played a little bit of everything (ranging from jazz to rock back to rap to country...I truly mean EVERYTHING). After making the appropriate adjustments on the EQ, every song sounded great.I saw that several complaints of rattling. I didn't have that problem at all; but then again, I'm also not trying to blast out my windows with a shelf system. I played it at a considerably loud volume, and all that rattled was the glassware on my countertop.I also saw that some people have complained about the remote. When I used it, it worked flawlessly. I do have the most recent 80gb ipod, so I'm not sure if the problems are with older models or just with certain remotes.I would highly recommend this system to anyone who would like fantastic sound without dropping hundreds more on a Bose system. I was never able to listen to the Klipsch and the Bose next to each other. However, from what I can recall, the Bose did NOT sound hundreds-of-dollars better than the Klipsch.

Dracula's Wedding!! and Exit Music (For a Film)
Let's start with the best part. It's about $8O! I was originally considering getting a Bose Sound Dock but they are about 2OO bucks. More than I was willing to spend and it did not have 12O worth of more sound. They sounded equal at moderate volumes and the igroove sounded better at low volumes. The bose was definitely the winner for VERY loud volumes. What blew my mind was the way Dracula's Wedding by Outkast and Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead sounded. There were parts of those songs that I have never heard before through the standard earbuds. Honestly made me say WOW!Set up was a breeze. Fit my 4th gen pod perfectly. The additional connecters for non-pod devices is a big plus!!Of-course it is limited to the quality of your mp3's. If you have crappy downloaded (Stolen) 128bit files or less. It will obviously sound like crap! You should have nothing less than 192bit. I use apple's loss-less format and they sound great! All my Store bought files from Amazon and iTunes also sound great! The only thing I am not entirely happy with is the remote. It has an odd tapered shape that is awkward to use and it is dropped a lot.11-25-2008 updateI have noticed that the price has increased substantially since I have purchased mine. I would not pay over 150 for this. Just shows you gotta pull the trigger when the price is right. If it gets below 100 ever again, get it!
