Top of the line.
Heavy unit-holds charge. Wife had problem with new SUBURU Forester discharging. Problem was a Japan battery shorting-replaced at dealer expense 3. Gave up and said I want a AGM battery. Charged very well and is powerful. I have no worries about her now. Also put one in my 1978 Ford VAN. HEAVY to lift at 82 but once installed and with a trickel charger (remote area no electric line.) I can rely on it. Costly for some but lasts for ever.

I should start this review saying that I'm an overkill guy. I look for the most heavy-duty, toughest built things when I buy something. Car batteries probably are at the top of this list. I had been researching new car batteries because my old car battery gave out and I didn't want to "settle" for a standard lead acid battery. In my research it came down to a few options (the Optima or the Odyssey or the Northstar) and when I weighed out the Cold Cranking Amps and reserve power this battery came out on top.Another factor I should mention is that this battery had a fold down handle which can be very important because some car batteries have the strap that arcs over the battery which is great when you go to install the battery but becomes a liability when you go to install the battery hardware and you find you can't because the handle doesn't move out of the way. You're then forced to have to cut the strap off in order to fasten down the battery. That's fine until the day comes when you need to remove the battery, good luck with that. The Northstar battery arrived in June 2020 and I took my time mounting in my truck (Nissan Murano) . I could tell when I first started the truck the starter sounded like it had been given a real boost! The engine seemed to turn over much faster. I was quite pleased.Fast forward to January 2021, I came down with COVID and was sidelined for over 2 weeks. When I went out to start my truck for the first time in over 2 weeks it was as dead as a door nail. I was so angry and disappointed. I charged the battery back up with my car charger and it seemed to take the charge. I even drove the truck around some local highways and ran some errands to further charge the battery.1 week after that I went out to start my truck and it was dead again. More anger and disappointment. Now, I decided 2 things. First, I put a solar charger on the battery since I'm retired and the truck doesn't get used every day. Secondly, I decided to contact the company to see what they could do since I was still under warranty and they're located a couple of states away from where I live. It's probably easier to contact the President of the United States than to get someone on the phone from this company. Once I was able to leave a message but that after navigating a labyrinth of prompts that eventually lead you to a dropped call. This happened to me 5 times where the call drops no matter what department you try to contact.I'm still trying to contact the company when I have the patience to try. In the meantime I'm thinking of going to my local parts store and seeing what they have in AGM batteries. For now the best advice I can offer is to stay away and I hate to say that because I like to buy American when I can.11-20-21- Update-- The final chapter of this odyssey had more twists and turns to it. Back in January I had contacted the distributor and they were of no help just like Northstar had been. After trying for a year to keep this battery going with a solar charger it gave up. I attempted to call the distributor again. This time they wanted me to send them readings. First, I sent them my own readings with my DVOM meter. Then they wanted it load tested. I had to take the truck to my local auto parts store where they did it and I took pictures and sent it along to the distributor. Then they wanted the serial number from the battery which meant I had to remove it from my truck (a half hour job, to remove it and then another half hour to reinstall it).At that point they stopped all communication with me.Undeterred, I called Amazon customer service and asked them to intervene. They assured me that this would be resolved to my satisfaction since the battery has a 5 year warranty.Apparently Amazon couldn't get this distributor to "make it right" because Amazon ended up refunding me the entire cost of the battery.Do yourself a favor. If you really want this battery, go to a local retailer that will give you the 5 year warranty without the hassle that I went through on line. Otherwise go to your local parts store and buy a regular lead acid battery from them.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item. 2 is better than one.
You can't go wrong with an NORTHSTAR AGM battery fro off road use. Perfect for duel battery set ups. Other great brands area Optima and Odyssey.

Small Footprint BIG Power
I got this battery to help spin the starter better on my 08 350Z, I am super happy with the fitment, GROUP 35, so it is small but packs a big punch. I will update this as I am buying everything for a sound system, including a upgraded alternator. I have no reservations, as the math is write on with the AMP hours of the batter, and the extra 70 amps the alternator will be throwing out. TBD

Great and powerful battery for excessive use!
Needed a good strong battery for my track car that is also used as a daily driver when not at the track. This battery can deliver and maintain voltage for my car considering that I have a stereo system (when not using for track), electric gauges, and all other upgraded parts that need stable voltage. This battery seems better than other brands at the same price range I've owned, even held its charge for 3 months before I installed it. Only downfall, this battery is heavy! Other than that, great battery, strong design and strong output.

Noticeably extra power when starting
Fits a 2015 Subaru Forester perfectly. NORTHSTAR battery has 740 CCA (vs. 390 CCA for OEM factory Subaru battery). Vehicle starts immediately with notable ease. Extra dependability on those subzero nights.
