Rockler Wixey Easy-to-Use WL133 Drill Press Laser Crosshair, Accurate Setup

Obviously, high quality, heavy duty. Much better than the factory one for my drill press that I am replacing. The laser lines are very bright and easy to adjust. It’s good value for the money.

Installed and setup in less than 15 minutes. So far, I’d say this was worth every penny. Wish I’d bought it years ago. Fits multiple sizes of drill presses regardless of column diameter and throat dimension. It’s very easy to dial into your drill center. This makes positioning your workpiece easier, faster and more accurate. As with the other Wixey products I own, the build quality is very good and is a great value.

I added this laser guide to my new Nova Voyager floor standing drill press. It is a nice addition that comes in handy from time to time. It is accurate and maintains the correct position, even when the drill press table is moved up or down, if installed according to the easy to follow instructions. Many reviewers here or people answering questions above say it has to be readjusted if you move the table, but that isn't true if you just follow the instructions. It only takes 5 minutes. I'm only giving 4 stars, however, because I would like the product even better if the laser lines were 1/2 or 1/3 thinner than they are. As is, I use the laser cross hairs to get (very) close to the drill location and then dead on by lowering the bit to the work piece before turning the drill on. Also, it would be a much better product if it turned off automatically after some specified time. As is, if you forget to turn it off, it will eventually exhaust the batteries. Glad I bought it, but it could be a little better.

Excellent product, does exactly as it says it does. I had questions on installation and the folks at Wixey were more than helpful in getting me up and running. I do a lot of 'quick' drill tasks and this saves me time on every one!

Fantastic accessory for my variable speed Klutch 17" floor mount drill press. Setup was easy. I highly recommend reading all reviews. Steve M.'s five star review mentioned Ira's review detailing an alternative method of Z axis alignment. Ira's 4 star review and alignment tip is nothing short of brilliant. The wax paper and mirror technique is a three dimensional chess approach. It should be the default method of Z axis alignment. Run a text search for "wax" under 4 star reviews to find Ira's Z axis alignment solution. Well documented with photos.

Great upgrade for my 30+ year old floor standing Craftsman drill press. Aligning the lasers wasn’t too difficult and yes, the laser cross spot stays put despite the height of the table, when adjusted correctly. The laser blocked the built in press work light so I added a spare small 12v led flood light. Wired a 12v power supply to the light switch on the front of the press to power the light. Of course the light was too bright and washed out the lasers so I added a PWM dimmer. Since I now have 12v power available I hard wired a buck converter to the Wixey so it now turns on and off with the front light switch. The buck converter is mounted to the bottom of the Wixey plate so it’s not visible in the picture. Very happy with how everything turned out and very happy with Wixey laser crosshair.

Other than the fact that vibration seems to make the adjustment of the Z-axis go off after a while, this little bugger is really great. Getting it back into alignment is trivially easy but should not be needed. NOTE: reviewers who say the focus changes when raising and lowering the table clearly just did not read the directions. When set up properly, the focus stays exactly where the bit will hit the wood regardless of how much you raise and lower the table. My own complaint is that this focus DOES change over time but that has nothing to do with raising and lowering the table, it is, as I said, a matter of the vibration moving the z axis. Installation and setup are very simple and straightforward. Directions are clear, simple, and concise. It's a pleasure to use and really simplifies drill press use.

This item does not arrive in a cardboard box, mine arrived in a large box, and the item itself comes in a formed plastic with a piece of cardboard that slides into the plastic at the back. There are basic instructions on the cardboard backing.

Schnell montiert und ebenso schnell und einfach eingestellt. Das Lichtkreuz zeigt dann präzise auf den Bohrpunkt. Die beiden Laser-Strahlen könnten allerdings etwas feiner sein, der Kreuzpunkt ist ungefähr einen qmm groß, das ist mir nicht ausreichend genau zum Ansetzen.
