Works great. Programming DIP switch instructions are wrong
I bought three of these. First is an exact model from another vendor. Followed instructions and it worked fine the first time. Bought another from another vendor for a little less and immediate shipping. Exact model number. Exact instructions. Different sku on outside box. Followed instructions and the gate opened once but would not ever work again. Found a solution on You Tube. The programing instructions are wrong. When programing the DIP switches you start process by pressing the "program button" under the cover. You then pick outside button 1 or 2 to operate the door. Instructions say to press "program button" again after the multiple main button 1 presses are needed to correspond to the gate brand are finished. In fact the gate/door will open when you get to the right one. My advice is that if following the paper instructions doesn't work, instead of pressing the program button to lock in the brand, press the "other" main button 2 on the outside of the remote and then go back and press button 1 and gate/door will operate. Simply reversing the DIP switches did not work in my case- which has been suggested elsewhere. YMMV. Once programed the switch is terrific. Great value.

Works GREAT for an old 1/2HP Craftsman 139.53513 garage door opener
I have a super old Craftsman Model 139.53513 )1/2 HP) garage door opener that apparently predates 1993 so it only has dip switches--there is no LEARN button. Because the opener has no learn button, one must purchase a remote that has it, otherwise the opener and the remotes will not be able to talk to each other.Based on the video I found online by "Outdoors with Jim" titled "Program a Craftsman Garage Door Opener," I bought this 2pk of universal remotes to replace one of my original remotes that suddenly died. I followed Jim's directions and these paired easily and work perfectly! Many thanks to "Outdoors with Jim" and this Amazon seller--I was able to breathe new life into my garage door opener. 👍

Not universal remote
This is not universal. I have a purple learn button and all this did was make my other openers not work when I tired to program this one. I returned it, only after having to provide a shipping label and box. The box was not an issue, it was printing the label. No one has a printer these days. The option for no label or box for UPS wasn't an option.

Keeping Universal Garage Door Opener
I did not know a 2nd garage door opener was sent. I did not receive 2nd universal garage door opener. I am keeping 1st garage door opener because we got it to work.

Dead battery but got it to work
Inexpensive way to add a convenience of access to your garage door opener. Just make sure yours come with new battery. My unit didn't work at first, I couldn't get it to program. (red backlit light comes on but no beep) I checked the battery with multimeter and it was down to 7V. Replaced the old battery with a new one and it now works as intended.

Definitely Works (Learn+9pin+12pin)
Let me say to all buyers. It works for all Learn, 9pin, and 12pin garage door and community security gate.I replaced my garage door opener to a Chamberlain B970 (yellow learn button). My old garage door remote also had 9pin switches to activate the community security gate.Programming is very easy. Here is what I did.For the garage door opener:1) Make sure garage door is in the closed position2) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover (LED light on remote will stay on)3) Press the Learn button on your garage opener hub (main unit)4) Press the designated button on your remote that you want to assign and click slowly until your garage opener lights flash. Should be the exact number of clicks mentioned in the manual5) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover to exit the program mode (LED light on remote will turn off)For the community security gate (either 9pin or 12pin):1) Match the exact sequence as the old remote dip switches (if your old remote only had 9pins, make sure pin 10, 11, 12 on your new remote are in the off position)2) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover (LED light on remote will stay on)3) Press the designated button on your remote that you want to assign and click slowly until your community security gate opens. Should be the exact number of clicks mentioned in the manual4) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover to exit the program mode (LED light on remote will turn off)That's it.The only complaint I have is the clip. The clip does not lock into place very well. Both were very loose and almost useless. Luckily I didn't need them. If you want to clip the remote to your sunvisor, it will be loose and possibly fall off. Krazy glue should fix the problem.

Works Well
I was a little unsure about this remote based on some of the reviews, but I’m very happy with it so far. Programming it was very easy. I have two Liftmaster garage door openers with the yellow button. I put the remote in something like a formatting mode just like the directions said. I selected the button I wanted to program, I set it for my opener with one click, and I exited the “formatting” mode. Then I pushed the yellow “learn” button on the opener, held down the button I wanted to program on the remote, and the remote picked up the signal in about 2 seconds. I repeated the process for the second opener and it went just as smoothly as the first one. It could not have been easier.

Literally a garage door opener, it doesn’t close it.
So I must have gotten this second hand because it came in a clear plastic bag with no instructions. I had to search for the item ordered and see if I could find instructions on how to set this thing up. I finally found a customer reviewed video of how to do it and the installation was actually pretty easy. The down side is, my garage door opens with the opener but it doesn’t close! It’s literally a garage door opener. Every time I press the button again it just clicks and doesn’t close so I have to return. I’ve used universal garage door openers before but this one is not functional for the reason mentioned above!
