Circulon Enamel on Steel Whistling Teakettle/Teapot with Flip-Up Spout, 2 Quart - Gray

It's a wonderful kettle. I use it on my gas stove and have had absolutely no issues with it over the last month. It's easy to clean, thanks to the enameling. It whistles every time. The handle doesn't heat. It's beautifully made. Its weakest point is the lid: the knob is held on the lid with a single screw which is already slipping. A small annoyance to an otherwise lovely old school stove top kettle. I'd buy this all over again if I had to. It's not cheap but it's far more charming than an electric kettle.

This teakettle is exactly what I was hoping for. The color is beautiful in person and the enamel looks high-quality. It feels solid and well-constructed without being too heavy, and it heats quickly with a clear, loud whistle. Overall, a great piece that looks nice on the stove and works just as well as it’s advertised.

Like a lot of people, I read the reviews of this teakettle before purchasing it, and the only thing that gave me pause was that many people complained that the whistle was not loud enough. However, when I watched some of the videos included with those reviews, it appeared that the lids had not been tightly secured, allowing steam to escape around the edges. When I received the teakettle, I was pleasantly surprised. I purchased an “Amazon Like New” item, but it appeared to be brand new and was still in its protective packaging. The first thing I did was fill it halfway and bring it to a boil. The whistle is plenty loud as long as the lid is secured tightly. I could easily hear it from my living room, about 20 feet away. I also wonder whether some people returned it after seeing the color. I bought the gray one and maybe people expected a cooler gray based on the listing photos. It is actually a very warm gray—almost taupe, but not quite. It pours very well with no dribbling, and on my induction range, it reached a boil in about 2½ minutes. So far, it seems like a great teakettle, and at the “Like New” price, it was an excellent deal.

This kettle is an ugly color grey not the taupe color listed. The quality of the kettle is good though.
