I own many knives and shears. I absolutely love sharpening using different grits of stones. These shears are unbelievable. From their slightly serrated edges to their light weight, they cut through rubbery skin as well as most medium size bones. They are a joy when working on lobster and Dungeness crabs. They are also easy to take apart and clean. Lastly, they just look great hanging with my Maglio MagnaCut handmade kitchen knives.

Super sharp, cuts meat like butter, easily comes apart for cleaning. Very impressive.

Great scissors with large eye grips for your hands making it have good leverage to power cut through any thing you want to cut. I use them in the kitchen for snipping up herbs, cutting apart chicken or meat before cooking, opening up packaging, etc. They are easy to clean and I wash them after each use with hot water and leave them to dry with the blades open in the strainer. I do wish the blade length was longer especially when I'm cutting up a chicken.

These shears arrived nicely packaged in a box with Japanese text. They felt hefty and inspire confidence that these are nice quality. I first used them on a whole roasting chicken. They just snapped through all the bones as needed to quickly cut it up and leave most of the meat de-boned for marinating it for that night's dinner. I usually use just a knife or both a knife and shears for this job, but I just didn't feel like putting these shears down. And that is saying something because I love my 10" Wusthof chef's knife that I use for this task. The blades are nice and tight and with the serrated edge on one side, just grip onto bones as easily as chicken skin to cut right through. I was only hoping that they would be this impressive. I don't plan on losing these shears, but if I ever take and forget them to a friend's house and they refuse to give them back; or I am enjoying plenty of wine while cooking and just gift them to one of my guests in awe with these things, I would absolutely buy them again! Great kitchen tool. They look good, feel good in the hand and work great. A wonderful product that more than lives up to the expectation for some quality crafted Japanese shears. For me personally, the only thing that would make these even more enjoyable to use, is if the thumb hole on the upper thumb handle was a little bigger. But that of course, depends on size of user's hands. These get an easy five stars from me -and I love good cutting tools.
