Bought lots of FireAngels over the years, always very pleased with them. The 10 year ones never last me 10 years though, more like 6 or 7, so this time I went for one with replaceable AA cells as they're dirt cheap (Alkaline GP brand, really good value for money, I've been buying those for years too). All fine on installation, popped straight into the old FireAngel ceiling mount that I'd installed for the previous one. However I thought I might have to send this one back as we had a nuisance alarm from it on around the 3rd night after installation at 3am, grrrrrrrrrr! I pulled the batteries out as there was clearly no cause for alarm, and reinstalled again the next day and it's been fine since, so, so far so good, hopefully it has "bedded-in" now :o) UPDATED Dec2023 - That initial glitch didn't repeat itself, so I've bought another one to replace another 10-yr one (as usual only 7 year!) now which is fine so far :o) They fit straight into the existing mounting plates of my previous generation FireAngels which is super! UPDATE Oct2024 - AA cells still above 1.5V each after about a year, so it looks like AAs will probably last about 2 years which sounds fine. No more nuisance alarms after that first glitch so I'm ordering more as my last remaining 10year alarm has actually reached 10 years and needs binning.

Average life of 3 years even though they say 10 year battery so always best to buy a twin pack. Easy to fit base plate seems to be universal to fire angel models. The brand the fire service fits.

Bought this version to avoid the rectangular batteries so that we could use rechargeable ones. Sadly the rechargeable Amazon AAs started the alarm beeping after only a couple of days. Guess this is because of the possible lower voltage of rechargeable ones, but was a shame as now need to buy ones to discard every so often. Unsure as to how long the provided energizer batteries will last. Hopefully a while.

Easy to fit, a bit smaller than the older units, tested and working well.

Bought to replace our date expired smoke alarm in our motorhome. A trusted brand and even though our old model is no longer made and has been superceded by 2 other models, this replacement version has the same design of backing plate so I didnt have to make new holes in the van. Well thought out design and a simple swop out. Great fit, easy replacement, should durable for 10 years.

Great little battery operated smoke alarm. Looks quite discrete when mounted (I used command strips, but screws and rawplugs are provided). Based on an optical sensor not the older radiation source/alpha particle ones, but, weirdly, still have an expiration date....not sure an LED or optocoupler has a half life but what do I know!? Is this a ploy just to keep you buying new ones in the future!? Anyway, runs on two AA batteries (supplied) which is great, apparently last around 5 years but I can't validate that, they are easy to change in any case. The alarm is pretty loud too. I've found that sometimes steam from the bathroom can trigger mine in the hallway so they seem sensitive, but I think thats a good thing. For the price it's a simple fire risk mitigation to help keep your family safe, recommended!

Good alarm and hopefully I won't ever need it. Slightly disappointed in that the recommendations seem to have changed since I replaced my last smoke alarm. I bought the optical version as previously they had been recommended for use in kitchen areas. This advice has now changed to heat sensors in kitchen areas and optical in hallways, landings, lounge areas and bedrooms. Presumably it is because the trusty old radio active isotope type are being phased out because of health concerns. Personally, I think that the risk from the tiny amount of radiation is so slight and the advantages of this type of monitor so great in terms of sensitivity, that it is a retrograde step but that's just my opinion. Otherwise, highly recommended but get the heat sensor type for the kitchen and this type for other rooms where the traditional type would have previously been recommended!

Le modèle à batterie scellé se met en défaut bien avant la date de péremption. Au moins avec celui à piles on peut les changer.
