Designed by Ex-Special Forces operative Mel Parry, the Parry Blade is the ultimate survival knife. Mel Parry has a military service record spanning 32 years. He spent 27 years in the British Special Forces and his experience was essential to developing this extraordinary survival knife. Each knife is skilfully hand crafted by Samuel Staniforth Ltd (est. 1864), making every knife truly unique. This knife is a thoroughbred and was borne from clear understanding that a knife is a tool. The Parry Blade was designed with a single purpose in mind; survival. It is evident even from a glance that the knife was developed around the principles of efficiency and practicality. The knife is made from 3/16″ (4.5 mm) thick high tensile carbon spring steel hardened to 57-58 Rc. The main edge is bevel-ground for strength. The deep belly shape takes the weight forward giving the knife a powerful chopping stroke. The point is ground as a spear point and is strong enough for digging and prying. Near the choil is a hollow-ground section that can be honed for razor sharpness for fine cutting and whittling, aided by the forward choke. On the top of the blade is a serrated edge for sawing through rope or webbing. The Parry Hunter comes complete with a Coyote heavy duty Cordura sheath and the X460 Cr13 420 stainless steel is coated black Dupont Teflon.
