Great Budget Friendly Conversion Option
Fits right up to a Shimano freehub. Comes with the locking ring, no derailleur adapter. Similar to what another individual wrote, this is almost a must have for anyone building the โFamily Beater/Bike Pathโ bike. This was installed on free to me GT Timberline 1.0 size large thatโs being converted to 1x drivetrain. Itโll be used to pull a kids trailer while I sip on a big olโ Chic Filet soda riding down bike paths. I have what looks to be a Shimano Altus long cage on the bike and was able to get it to work by replacing the b-screw with a longer one. You will require a chain whip and cassette tool to perform the install. All in all, a good budget friendly option for converting your drivetrain.

Awesome so far would recommend if you're trying to keep an 8 speed cassette
I had an 8 speed 11-34t cassette and I wanted a little more easier gear all of the cassettes that have 36 tooth you had to go to 9 speed and I did not want to get a new derailleur and shifter. I was a little bit hesitant about getting this because it is in 11-40t cassette with my front chainring is 34 22 I thought it would might popping snapping not work properly when in 22 tooth chainring but it works perfectly there is no snapping popping skipping gears none of that. The installation was a breeze no problems everything lined up just had to adjust the B screw so the derailleur could go onto the 40t sprocket. My rear derailleur is a Sram X5 8 / 9 speed derailleur seems fine with going onto the 40t sprocket the price was good to everywhere else I look they wanted $40-50 for this same cassette

All the range of my 3x7 in one cassette. Utility/economical 1x opportunity.
Got an old 99 GT Palomar for next to nothing to haul the kids in the trailer. Bottom of their line with twist shifters. Problem is while taking the boys on an adventure sometimes you need to hold a big old Chick-fil-A cup in one hand while you pedal and manage hills etc. So I got a 26โ wheel with HG hub from the coop, put a Wolf Tooth road link on the rear derailleur, removed both old shifters, got a new 8 speed shifter and this cassette, and took off front derailleur. Using the middle ring (28/38/48) this thing has slightly better climbing gear than the old 28:28 ratio AND slightly better top gear with 38:11 than the former best 48:14. Great ratio and speed combination to make for a very economical 1x setup.

No hassle fitment! Made my upgrade easy!
A great upgrade for an Aventon LEVEL II, along with a Shimano Acera derailleur! 5 stars for quick shipping, price and ease of setup! (Recommended!)

nice gear
I love the gear. good quality built. can be taken apart by gear and be replaced individually as wished for or just to make a different adjustment. Chromed though not black as on picture so I give it a 4 star for that. other than that nice product for the Sun Race CSM680 8sp. Cassette 11-40T

Great budget cassette, can climb for days now
Used this cassette with a 1x conversion and have great gear ratios for the hilly riding I do. Easy install and dialed in with an equally affordable shimano acera derailleur, chain shifts through the gears perfectly. Have put a couple hundred miles on it and hasnt skipped a beat, though I do clean & lube the drivetrain often

Easy upgrade to grandpa gearing
Swapped out my 11-34t to this 11-40t on my road bike. Sunrace makes decent aftermarket components. Easily fit my shimano freehub. A spacer on the cog assembly may or may not be needed. You may need an extension hanger to attach to the rear dropout, and then re-attach your derailleur to that; otherwise your derailleur may not have enough clearance to put the chain on the largest cog. I was able to keep my rear derailleur -Shimano Deore M530- It has a long cage. A derailleur with a short cage may not work. Putting on a new chain will probably be needed
