Leary) Review: Exciting plot & great characters - The fourth book in the Leary series brings together exciting plots, interesting twists, and just great characterization. The more you learn about Adele and Daniel, the more you want to learn what happens next to these characters. It doesn't matter that this may be the most improbable way of traveling long-distances through space, these books take you to the idea of the "high seas" in space--and thrilling adventure! Review: Leary and Mundy again! - Gotta like the heroine's name.... I enjoy the RCN series with its swashbuckling style and the clear concepts of honor that Drake keeps consistent. The heroes aren't perfect, far from it, but they are consistently loyal to one another, brave, and selfless. It's a treat to read about their exploits!

Great read!!! Great series!!!
Easy read (for myself) and great characters! Lady Mundy is soooo enjoyable , and not over done. Lt. Leary and crew are a blast as well. I feel that you can enjoy the series if you do not get too serious about what happens and where they end up!!! Just try and enjoy it!!! (IMVHO... )

Lt Leary commands again!
Another great Lt. Leary book, though we all know he wouldn't be where he was without his "librarian" Adele Mundy. I eagerly await each new book in this series, though I will read most anything written by David Drake. My only quibble with this book is that nothing is resolved regarding the "mutiny" and execution of crew members by Lt. Leary's new commander in his {the commander's) previous ship. Perhaps we will hear more about that in a later book?? Also, it would be nice if we knew just exactly why Lt. Leary and his father don't get along, what the original big dispute was about?? In any case, it's a fun read.

Wonderful tale
Taking a bit of history and a dash of humanity, stir fry with some adventure and voila! Another page turner from David Drake!

I highly recommend this novel for fans of Dave Drake’s “action novels”.
Drake, The Way To Glory The Way to Glory (2005) is the fourth novel in the RCN series, following The Far Side of the Stars. Leary is assigned to the pirate tender Hermes captained by Commander Aban Slidell Commander Slidell has just been absolved by a Court Martial in the death of a supposedly mutinous crew. Rather than override the findings of the Court Martial the Admiralty assigns Leary as the senior lieutenant to the crew of the Hermes by “adjusting” Leary’s date of rank. One can’t help but speculating that the Admiralty believes the Court Martial got it wrong and wants to double check on the captain. I highly recommend this novel for fans of Dave Drake’s “action novels”. Yes, it has some character development in it, but what good novel doesn’t? Gunner July, 2014

Another fine tale.
This continues to be a fun series. Drawing from historical situations gives the author that kind of randomness in peoples" responses that are hard for a rational person to plot.
