Doctor's Best Pure D Ribose Powder Supplement, Gluten Free, Vegan, 8.8 oz

I started using this years ago after i saw Dr. Oz on Good Morning America talking about natural remedies to help with fibromyalgia (which I suffer from severely) He specifically named the Doctor's Best brand, and in powder form, as your body absorbs it better and much faster than in a pill form. I add it to my coffee in the morning and sometime mid-day to keep my energy levels up in something like tea, crystal light, whatever. I was absolutely shocked when I first started using it! My energy levels were increased more than I can possibly explain! The energy is so different from caffeine, you never get a crash, it just gives you a natural energy boost that's unlike anything I've tried (and I've tried EVERYTHING) The taste is great, not strong at all, but it's a little sweet. Almost a slight butterscotch or vanilla taste, not chemically at all. At first I had to work my way up to the recommended two scoops a day (the scoops are tiny) because it actually gave me too much energy! It not only helps with the constant fatigue from fibromyalgia, it also helps my muscles ache a lot less. I used it for a couple of years, ran out and just kind of forgot to order it again. You stop noticing how much it does for you after a while. Within a week all of my fatigue and muscle aches were at it's highest. I had no idea it was doing that much for me until I stopped using it! I Immediately ordered more, and I will never let myself run out again! I can't attest how it would work for other uses (I believe it's used with a lot of weight trainers/ body builders), but if you have fibro you MUST have this in your daily diet. It's by far the best product I've tried over the past 10 years to try to help ease the symptoms of fibromyalgia. I feel like it's given me back a part of me that fibro took away. I can't say enough about it. Thank you Doctor's Best for literally changing my life (and Dr. Oz for recommending it...I never would have found it otherwise!)

I started taking this at my massage therapist's recommendation. Normally, things that work for me show the benefit pretty quick (a matter of days). So when I hadn't noticed any appreciable improvement to my daily stamina, I assumed it wasn't going to work for me. Kept taking it though, and a few days later realized I still had energy when I got home from work. My thoughts were clear, I didn't need to take a nap, and my sleep patterns appeared to improve. I chose this brand/volume because of its good ranking, and it had a good value (ratio of cost to volume compared to others). I was concerned with the bad taste some reviewers reported, so I 'hide' it in a mixture of grapefruit juice and water. I don't find a bad taste with that mix, and I'm pretty sensitive to these things...after chemotherapy years ago, many former nice things weren't so appealing due to a chemical aftertaste. I take 5g in the morning with breakfast, then sip on a 5g mix that I take to work in a sealed cup. Keeps me going even though I'm on my feet all day. Then I come home with enough mental/physical energy left to act like a real human being for a few hours before bedtime. I will do my best to follow up in a month or two to report any further changes/improvement. ====== OK, it's been over a month, and I'm still pleased with this product. It took about two weeks for it to be effective for me. I now have it on subscription purchase.

I have Fibromyagia Syndrome/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and for the past year have been exhausted more than usual. I'm in my early 50's and think it may have something to do with going thru menopause. I saw an episode of Dr Oz and he talked about using D-Ribose for FMS/CFS, so I thought I'd give it a try. I read up online a bit first before I placed my order to see which type I should purchase so I wouldn't waste my money. The research stated that they used a brand called Corvalen, but it was really expensive, so I read the reviews for Doctor's Best and decided to take a chance on this one. The first couple of days, I noticed a little more energy, but the next days and the next week, WOW. It really make me think a lot more clearly and I was functioning a lot better in my thinking and response time when I was gaming (I'm a die-hard COD player. Yeah, I'm over 50 and I'm a gamer, laugh all you want ...but it takes my mind off of my pain and helps to relieve stress). My scores went up significantly. I was also able to start my Yoga again, which I haven't had the energy to do for months now and I wasn't tired afterwards, I actually felt better and had more energy. These past 2 days now though, it doesn't seem to be working as well. I'm still taking the same dosage (5 grams, 3 x a day added to a small amount of grape juice or yogurt), the same way I have always taken it. The mental clarity and response time seems to have gone back to the way it was before even though I've not changed anything. Wondering if it could be related either to my cycle or maybe my FMS/CFS flaring up. If anyone knows why this happens, please let me know. I've been tempted to use more than suggested, as I have heard some people say they do (only side effect seems to be the 'jitters'), but it's too expensive to go thru that much. It does seem to work (most of the time), but it's really expensive and people who are ill and need this (such as myself) are probably already strapped by all the meds and equipment they are already paying for. It would be nice if these supplements that are suggested to us for better health would come at an affordable price since they are advertised as something that we need to function 'normally'. Also, if this is a 'maintenance' supplement, it would be nice to be able to buy it in a larger container at a lower cost like a lot of other companies sell their product. This container doesn't even contain enough for a months supply and it should (it contains 50 scoops, suggested at 2 scoops a day = 25 days).

Hands down, the best D-Ribose on the market. I get so much more energy with this brand than any other. That’s why I can’t figure out why they don’t have the capsules on Amazon consistently. I depend on this brand and have to shop elsewhere.

About 1 1/2 yrs later and I still agree with my review of this D-Ribose powder. Works so well, I can only take one scoop every other day so I have a day to recoop from all my running around. (just me, maybe) Still love it though! I love this D-Ribose. I have fibromyalgia and exercise is very important to the way I feel. It's a lot easier to get heavy because with fibro it's just too hard most of the time to exercise. I take this only once in the daytime and within a half an hour am ready for my treadmill. I don't take it more than that because I do fine at home and don't need to push myself other than exercise. If we're going anywhere on the weekend I take it before we leave too. Any type of exertion this is my 'must'! If I even am going to town to do a few errands I take it and don't feel totally exhausted when I get home. Instead I think 'oh, I forgot to get on the treadmill' and actually do my exercises. If I bought anything before, I'd leave it in the car when I got home and go take a nap. Now I can bring all my treasures in when I go in the house and look at them. I'll never stop taking this as it helps me to do the things that I normally wouldn't be able to.

I've ordered this several times for energy. While D-Ribose doesn't work to boost energy for everyone, it is cheap enough that it is definitely worth a try. It's great added to electrolyte drinks while working out or in the morning for an extra boost of energy. Highly recommend.

I really like this product. I tried the Now brand chewables a couple months back, but I got sick of chewing a chalky orange flavor tab. I wanted to try a powder to put in smoothies, and decided on Doctor's Best based on reviews. I put a scoop in my coffee in the morning and feel great all day. Sometimes I'll put it in my water at noon if I feel like a need a little pep. It has a sweet taste. I previously chewed on the Now brand three times a day to get the same effect, so I think this is more powerful. I gave some to my friend to try, and he keeps coming back for more asking me what brand and where to get it. Last year I was basically disabled with chronic fatigue, severe depression and muscle pain. I got a clean bill of health from the doctor, but I could barely get out of bed and live. I went to a chiropractor who put me on a gluten and dairy free diet and various supplements from Premier Research Labs based on muscle testing. After being gluten and dairy free for a whole year (with a few mishaps), I was still a little tired, especially in the afternoon. So I tried D-Ribose after reading From Fatigued to Fantastic, and was really amazed at how much better I felt. I took it to my chiropractor who muscle tested me with it, and he said it passed and was good for me. I've brought in many supplements that haven't passed. I am even weaning myself off of the antidepressant I've been on for 3 years now that I am feeling so much better. I have energy to exercise, but I battle with plantar fasciitis. So now I am reading reviews for foot wraps and such.

Beware of the directions of how much to use. Luckily I checked other sites - Livestrong.com - before I started this product. The site recommendation was to start with 1 to 3 grams per day. I started with 2 grams per day and it is perfect for me. If I had started with the jar recommended 10 grams, I would not have been able to leave the bathroom! One comment I read is perfect for me - the writer said she just sipped this product during the day and it works nicely with no energy lapses. I love this product. After almost a year of illness, it has given me so much energy I cannot believe it. My primary care doctor had recommended I give it a try and he was right. After using this for a few weeks, I can accomplish three times the things I did before using the product. I am so happy to have found this. Update: After a heart attack it is giving me some energy back. I'm ordering more soon as I'm almost out.

Tried to contact seller and Amazon to replace defective item and it just sent me through a loop over and over again. This is supposed to be a powder and instead I received a rock. In the attached pick you can see one side where I've had to literally use a knife to break it up, and the other side it is very hard like a rock. This could be a sign of spoilage or tampering and it could be serious but they have made it impossible for me to contact seller. The second picture is of me balancing a butter knife of the "powder".

I like this product because it helps my body to produce energy and aid in muscle and cardiac recovery
