Review: Fantastic Value For the Price - I purchased these to replace Hi Tech Hiking Boots purchased about 15 years ago. Although not in constant use, I wore them often enough to know I got incredible value from them. When I started looking for a replacement, imagine my surprise, and relief to find the same high quality brand right here on desertcart. Although these boots are not the same design as their predecessor, they are darned close. Right out of the box I knew I'd made the right choice. They look great, feel solid and well made. I've now been wearing them, pretty regularly in lousy weather and not so great terrain, and am totally in love with them. Very comfortable to walk or hike in. When shopping for this pair, I noticed a lot of boots at a much higher price point. So I thought these might be the cheapened down, lower quality version. But, no, these are really well made, and I think I might get another 15 years of these Hi Tech boots. Very, very pleased, great value for the money, can't recommend enough. I don't think you need to spend more to get a better boot. Review: Good value hiking boots - I’ve been wearing Hi-Tec and Merrell hiking boots for almost 2 decades, hiking mostly off-trail into the back-country. I hike 40-50 miles a month, ranging from easy 4 miles hikes to the 24-mile GC rim-to-rim. While Merrell is a great boot, my favorite was a Hi-Tec boot that was discontinued several years ago. These are almost as good. They were comfortable on an 8 mile initial hike with no break-in. One problem I have with both Hi-Tec and Merrell boots is the stitching easily abrades on off-trail hikes, and causes seams to break. So I look for boots with a minimum of exposed stitching, like these Yosemites. And over the years I’ve learned to coat exposed stitching with flexible shoe adhesive to provide both a layer of protection and prevent the stitches from unraveling if a loop is broken. With that improvement Hi-Tec boots usually last until the soles are worn almost flat. That is a lot of mileage. Some have reported the sole splitting loose on these. I carry a small roll of duct tape for emergency repairs if that ever happens on a hike. (I’ve never needed it.) But if it does happen, it would be an easy permanent repair with epoxy.

Scratch Feature 1
Only time will tell how the shoe holds up to my rigors. But it had all the features I wanted. 1) full protection against wear in toe area (I'm on my knees a lot while working); 2) the style of speed lace I prefer - triangular shape round stock that truly is a speed lace; 3) generous padded tongue; 4) the final two open hooks far enough apart to facilitate final lacing without mis-lacing; 5) a great price. In addition, some have said runs wide. I agree and find it a plus. The toe box also is generous, at least for my feet. Update: I've had the shoes now over four months and am very satisfied in all respects except toe wear protection. The second week I had the shoes I did a auto repair and was on my knees - wore through the toe protection on top of toe. It's probably not meant to protect for that type of use. A simple cosmetic fix is black liquid rubber electrician's tape. Applied several times now. I also am experimenting with tire bead sealer.

Great boots, third pair I've owned
Fit well, made well, super light, very durable. Comfortable all day and water proofing is good. Great boot for work or play. Just adjust socks for season. Alpaca in the winter. Poly cotton in summer.

Good boot that fits great!
Well made and comfortable right out of the box. The front of my foot is kind of wide and my heel is kind of narrow. These boots fit perfectly. I live in the "Lost Sierra" country and hike a lot. Hi-Tec has been my go to boot for for years and this model did not dissappoint.

Not for avid hikers…shoe wears out in about 5 months
Good price but not meant for highly active/avid hikers. We gave these boots three opportunities. Purchased a pair in 2024, Feb 2025 and Sept 2025. They last about 5 months before the front toe wears off…see pictures. The shoes in the picture were purchased in Sept 2025 and looked like this by February 2026.

Comfortable but with flaw
I liked the hiking boots because of the tread and comfort in general. I especially like the very padded tongue. It allows me to lace the boots quite tightly without being uncomfortable around the ankle. 4 months in, I've had an issue with the inner lining starting to wear out in the heel area. I put some mole skin over the defect, and I'm hoping that that will give me some additional wear. Other than that they've been fine. Unfortunately if the repair doesn't work, it will me and having to replace the boots. They're not the most expensive ones out there, but I'd rather not be having to buy boots two or three times a year.

Durável e confortável
Comprei uma dessas que, sem exagero, durou uma década. Agora achei da mesma e comprei de novo. Muito boa e confortável.

HI-TEC Fan. Very Happy With My Yosemites.
Long time user of HI-TEC boots. First time user of Yosemite which are not sold in Australia. Currently have Lima which seem pretty much the same. Also have Raven. Always happy with HI-TEC suit me and last a long time. Use them as a work boot stand up well in rough rural conditions. Only downside not the best on smooth wet surfaces, my Ravens are better. Overall an excellent all round well priced boot.

Preciosos zapatos altos o botas.
Preciosos zapatos altos o botas.
