This file cabinet is very heavy—over 100 pounds—so be prepared for that right from the start. I opened the box, removed all the pieces, and carried everything up to the location where the cabinet would permanently live before beginning assembly. From start to finish, the process took me about three hours. I’m a 58-year-old woman who genuinely enjoys putting things together, and overall I found the instructions to be mostly clear. There were a few steps that could have used better clarification, so I read the instructions very carefully and revisited certain sections multiple times. Taking my time made a big difference, and patience is definitely key with this build. That said, the design itself is very intuitive and makes it nearly impossible to assemble the cabinet in the wrong orientation, which was reassuring throughout the process. Once assembled, I’m extremely satisfied with the cabinet. It’s well-made, sturdy, and thoughtfully designed. Files fit both horizontally and laterally, which is a huge plus. I attached the cabinet to the wall, which I would strongly encourage for safety and stability. Overall, this is a solid, high-quality file cabinet, and I would absolutely recommend it—especially if you’re comfortable with careful assembly and taking your time.

I am using this item as a dresser and it is even better than I expected. I measured everything and compared to my space and current dressers. I had 3 tall dressers and one wide dresser. This room was crowded and it was unbearable. Of the three tall dressers, two of them were 5 drawer and one was 4. I was able to get the clothes from 2 dressers into one of these. This has drawers which are 9 inches deep, almost twice the depth of the 5 inch depth of my previous dresser drawers. I have a ton of clothes and only a little space and storage in my house so this was an incredible help. I managed to put two dressers to the curb and I ordered a second one of these so I can hopefully get rid of the other two dressers. The dresser is taller than I am so I put my pajamas up in the top drawer because I don’t need to see what I’m wearing to bed. I just put long sleeves and pants on one side and shorts and short sleeves on the other so I can reach up and grab what I need without the visual being an issue. For the item itself, it was extremely easy to put together. I did not use the included screwdriver, I used a screw driver gun or drill. I did build it by myself in about 40 minutes. (I’m not a handy person, it was just that easy!) It’s extremely sturdy and is probably holding 70 lbs of clothes inside as well as a few blankets I rolled up and set on top. Only one drawer can be open at a time which is a great safety feature to avoid tipping. It does come with the mounting piece where you can screw it to the wall to protect it from tipping but since this room is being completely redone, I haven’t figured out the final spot for all the furniture in order to do that yet but without it screwed to the wall I still have had no issues with it leaning or tipping. I have had it for a month now and I can say this is one of my favorite purchases for organization in my small space. I am considering ordering a third one to store Christmas decorations, bags, bows, etc, but I haven’t gotten as far as measuring if this would be reasonable storage for these items or not. I don’t even know what else I can brag on on this, I just love it so much, it truly went beyond my expectations.

DRAWERS LOCK RANDOMLY! DO NOT BUY THIS FILE CABINET IF YOU NEED ACCESS TO YOUR DOCUMENTS! Shortly after assembly (and before filing any papers away), the drawers locked up on me, without warning. There's no way I was going to take a chance that it would happen with my important documents in the drawers, so I decided I had no choice but to return it. To unlock the drawers for disassembly & return of the cabinet, I was advised by the seller to "Turn the cabinet upside down" and pull the locking bar on bottom. I had to repeat that process to remove each drawer. What a mess this would be if I had already loaded the drawers with files! The sellers were helpful, and suspected that it was "likely caused by the cabinet’s anti-tip mechanism getting stuck" but they also tried to deflect blame by indicating that "The issue you encountered stems from a minor detail in the assembly process of the product’s current design (not a product defect)". I returned the cabinet well within return period and have received a full refund in advance of their receipt of the return. I will update my review if I'm charged for not being able to repack the cabinet perfectly for return shipping (an impossible feat unless you take pictures while unpacking, to know exactly how to repack).

The product as shipped was packed well and arrived in good condition. Extensive assembly is required but no problems were encountered. All parts went together quite well and, after assembly, all the drawers operated smoothly. This file cabinet is a good value for home use. I gave it a "four-star" rating because the feature that prevents more than one drawer from being opened at one time does not work otherwise I would've given it a "five-star" rating.

The finished product is pretty good. It took about 90 minutes to put together. A bit frustrating, but doable. Sturdy construction once it’s constructed Drawers fit snuggly and securely. Lock works well. Would definitely buy again.

Super easy to put together. Big note to save your frustration if they drawers seem bent and do not align when first closing. Put it on its back and push the drawers in place. they align themselves. It looks great and you can't beat the price. Fits perfectly under a cubicle desk.

I wasn't looking for high quality file cabinet, so this has met my expectations. POSITIVES: The packaging was amazing! Very well protected with ample padding. Also, the parts were clearly marked with the appropriate letter to match the instructions. NEGATIVES (and why it's a "3"): The instructions are HORRIBLE! Mostly poor quality images and difficult to determine left/right/front/back from the pictures. I tried to find a YouTube video when I realized it's a NO-NAME BRAND! Even the instructons do not identify the manufacturer - I'd have to refer to my purchase history with Amazon to figure it out! After spending more time than should have been necessary if the instructions were clearer, I finally got the drawers to close (almost) by removing the locking mechanism (and yes, I followed the instructions to make sure the lock was UNlocked - didn't seem to matter). Bottom line: It'll meet my needs for a lower quality file cabinet, but I wouldn't buy this one again! EDIT: Since posting this review, the seller contacted me with an apology for the quality of the instructions and offered a 50% refund for the effort. I appreciate the contact and only hope they improve the instructions and perhaps post an assembly video. I'm declining the refund because the cabinet does work (and I didn't need the lock anyway), but I truly appreciate the contact and the offer.

My order took over 4 weeks to arrive. I understand they has to re-ship the order due to damage however this was not communicated to me until I pressed for an update. Once it arrived the cabinets were also damaged/dented from poor handling from the sellers to me.

I thought the cabinet would come assembled, but it came in a box and we had to assemble it ourselves. The assembly wasn’t too hard though. It had clear instructions. It took us about an hour to assemble.
