What can you do with a 1/2 amp (500 mA) charger?
Actually, mine delivers about 700 mA.When I'm in no rush for the phone to charge up, I use this 1/2 amp charger. Because, the slower the charge, the longer the lifetime of the battery. To see how much current a charger is delivering to my USB-C device, I use aUSB Tester, Amazon item number B0B99Z2GJK . Search for that. The new Pixel 8 phone charges regular-slowly with a 1/2 amp charger. The 10 inch tablet discharges very slowly with a 1/2 amp charger -- which isn't a bad thing -- the charger supplies some power that relieves the battery of some work; but it requires a 1 amp charger to achieve a slow charge. They're both real happy with a 2.4 amp charger, but the extra heating isn't necessary if I'm not in a rush. The phone especially heats up significantly with a 1 amp charger.Marketing departments are challenged to sell slow-chargers when everyone wants to go faster. I appreciate this vendor making these half-ampers available, although a little more expensive than they should be.In the car, if the Pixel 8 is continually displaying while Googlemaps is navigating, the phone will slowly discharge on the 1/2 amp charger.

Works with Mighty 3 player
Needed to replace the charger for my daughterโs Mighty player and it worked perfectly.

It's most likely great!
I just wanted to let the company know that in their description of this product, whoever wrote said description misspelled the word/term "Walkman." It ends with an N, not an M. The implications of this mistake are vast... I'll just leave it at that. I think the product is good, though. BUT, now that I muse on it, I haven't even used it yet. It's still sitting on my entry table. It "appears" like it works. It seems to possess a pleasant disposition... If it had a personality, it would probably be like one of those chill dudes like me... you just look over at it/him, and he gives you a positive head-bob, and says something like: "What's goin' on, man? How's your day?" A well-balanced persona that lightens the mood, and someone you can trust, someone you can relax with that's not pretentious or high maintenance.

It charges OK, but lacks an LED indicator
This charger performs OK for charging battery operated devices (radios, portable speakers) that use BL-5C batteries; they enjoy a longer life if charged more slowly with a 5V 500mA rated charger. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that this charger has no LED indicator that the charger is plugged in and on. Other chargers I've owned in the past that were identical in every other way had a red LED to warn users.

Thank goodness someone has them!
Ok so I keep coming back and getting more ... why? Cause it seems my little fun electronics all need this .5 amp charger and I like to keep a few on hand. Easy for popping into the purse, seems to last longer than me losing them (haha). So glad someone had them!

Low and slow, to prevent battery bloat
I've lost many phones to battery bloat over the course of ~15 years. Last year, I finally carried inflated batteries and bloated husks of over a dozen smartphones to my neighborhood e-waste and battery disposal event. Yet I'd never wondered why all those batteries expanded. In hindsight, it's so obvious.Fast charging delivers high current quickly, which produces excess heat. Heat accelerates chemical reactions inside the battery cells, leading to gas formation that causes swelling / bloat. This AGPTEK 5V 500mA (or 0.5 A) charger has a much, much smaller chance to cause that. It's low, and it's slow. In fact, I wish it were slower. According to my own testing using the Ampere app, the current ranges from 280 mA to a max of 830 mA, and tends to hover around 690 mA.

Great Smart Watch Charger
Bought this item for use with my Fitbit Sense Smart Watch using the stock charging cable that Fitbit includes with the smart watch as the watch didn't come with a USB wall charger only the cable. While on vacation with my cousin over labor day his Apple brand white square wall brick for his Apple watch decided to burn out and stop charging so I let him use this to charge his Apple watch too and it worked well and he loves it so much that he bought one of his own to replace the dead Apple brand USB wall brick and it was over half the cost as Apple wanted $19.00 for their genuine walk brick and this was only $7.99 at the time of purchase and works just fine. So as long as your smart watch charging cable has a USB type A connector on the end of it this is the charger for you at a very good price and seems to be well built too.

Mildly Disappointed
Bought this for an older phone wanting to save what's left of the battery by charging at low current. This adapter is producing more like 700mA not the 500mA advertised. I have found this before with other adapters of questionable quality. Some have been wildly off from advertised specs. Well, at least the voltage is correct. I'll be keeping this as 700mA is better than the 2A it normally charges at but... not what I was expecting. If it had been advertised as 700mA, I wouldn't have bought it. I could return this and spin the wheel with other brands (using that term loosely) but not worth the time and effort. Not a lot of choices as most want to charge faster, not slower. It would be nice if you could just trust what you read here but, sadly, those days are long gone.
