Do you have to re-format the disc every time you want to re-record over old recordings? Or do you just "erase" them?

All you have to do is format it once and that's the only time you have to format it then just erace and record

How many photos can you fit on one disc?

It would depend on the size of the images. Add up the sizes and figure they would fit on at least 4gb. You could get a blue ray writer and get a lot more. You would need to have a blue ray writerr.

What is a branded surface ?

I have no idea, but I wouldn't recommend these discs half way through the pack they stoped working.

Does it have dual layer
