So far this has been a great Fireplace log holder. Is a nice heavy weight. It arrived in two halves and it was very easily attached together with four bolts. It fit perfectly in my fireplace and it holds the logs nicely while providing adequate airflow for the fire. It feels very durable and sturdy and was reasonably priced. Pleasantly surprised!

This heavy duty 24" fireplace grate is ideal for the large fires we love to build in our large opening fireplace. Pros: Heavy duty rails and legs meant to last. Sagging on the larger 30" reviews is not a problem with this 24" model even though rails are glowing red hot. 7 rail design is much better than our old 4 rail model, keeping the larger coals in the fire while allowing the smallest embers to drop to the fireplace floor. Appears well constructed with good welds at the joints. I have no comment about paint, as the hot fires we build are expected to burn any paint off the bulk of the grate very quickly. Cons: I wish the bend angle at the back of the rails were shallower like the front. Can't put 2 really big split logs across the bottom of the fire as I like to and still get air flow between them into the upper levels of the fire, so changed my fire building design to use smaller pieces at the bottom and larger on top. A little more difficult to get these big oak fires started. All in all a really nice grate. For the folks using sticks and very small wood, you might want a design with steel mesh over the rails to stop it all from falling through as it burns, but this 7 rail design might be good enough. For large hot fire folks like us, steel mesh would burn up in short order.

Heavy duty and built to last. I was pleasantly surprised. We have had it 3 years. Granted we live in Texas and don’t burn it but 3-4 months a year but with our type of fireplace, the amount of heat it takes is amazing. It is heavy so moving it to clean out the ash takes some muscle.

Received this today via Prime. It took a couple of extra days, but was worth the wait. We replaced our melted grate with this heavy duty, sturdy grate. I really like it, however the height of the legs is a little too tall for our small fireplace. I've been tending a fire now for the last several hours, and, due to the clearance, the fire will go out if not looked after. I may get my husband to trim the legs an inch or two. Otherwise, this fireplace grate fits well in our fireplace and looks like it will last us a long time compared to the old grate. It was definitely a good buy and reasonably priced compared to the specialty stores. With the bitter cold we're experiencing right now, the fire is feeling mighty fine!

Actually the grate was more than expected. Heavy duty for the price.

I’ve had about 5 fires and it’s worked great! Solid construction and materials and holds the wood a nice distance above the floor of the fireplace. Very happy with purchase so far! Just the right size! Bought this grate in October so I wanted to follow up with another review in March after a winter season of numerous fires. This has been an outstanding product for me. It has stood up well, perfect size, and has worked as advertised. I’m very happy with this grate and look forward to many years using it. I wanted to do a second follow up on this product, now that I’ve used it for 2 seasons. It’s still an excellent product. It has held up very well, no sagging, warping or pealing. I’m very happy with it so far, and I’ve put it to good use. Our winters are cold and long.

I have been looking for something like this for 2 years. Constructed from SOLID iron stock. This thing is beefy. Thick enough material that I am confident I will get quite a few winters out of it before it needs replaced. Used in a fireplace that is our main heating source through the winter. Cast grates are crap. 2 or 3 good fires and chunks start cracking and falling off. I’ve gone through 5 in the last 2 years. At $20 a pop. This grate will pay for itself by winters end. Good height off the bottom of the fireplace to promote superb airflow! The seven time design holds tinder, Wood, and then the coals like a champ! Thank you Amazon for once again having what others doNOT!! Would recommend this product to anyone that has a woodstove or fireplace to heat their hom!!

Very thick and sturdy Hold the wood well

We'll see how it stands up over time and repeated usage. So far the one fire we've used it for was perfect. It holds the logs well off the floor of the fireplace thus allowing good air circulation. Cannot attest to its longevity but we are hopeful. It is heavy and feels sturdy. A little pricey, but we hope to get what we paid for.
